Black dress pants nice top nice shoes,
Dress not too dressy and nice shoes and handbag that is cute!!
That is what I would wear!
a potatoe sack
dress pants and a nice summer top
A flowy long skirt and a semi formal top....with mini heels.
i'd totally be in flat (nice) shoes.... but i'm 9 months pregnant... even so, i'd still be in comfy flat shoes!!
and a nice dress, or black pants/nice top etc...
how nice to be able to choose!
I would expect not jeans (never jeans to a wedding!!), a nice summer dress, or Skirt & top. It is a celebration, afterall - not a day at park with the kids. :)
I also firmly believe that you should never wear white to a wedding (that's for the bride), or black (it's not a funeral!). Black skirt or pants are ok, but your top/dress can't be too dark.
Yeh i'm with Emma on that one - nice pretty or sexy ** flats ** or mini heels, ... and a dressy casual dress that's NOT black :D
I'd follow the spirit of the request and wear something that I think looks nice BUT most of all that I'm comfortable in.
what you would wear to a party! A dress if that's your thang, or pants if it isn't.
I wouln't do jeans either, but I'm sure some will....
Is black really bad for weddings? All my clothes are black. I'm gonna have to go shopping I think.
Is it going to be warm? What about a maxi dress with a short cardi? That should also hide the 'Christmas baby'.
I have been looking at maxi dresses but I'm very short and can't find one that is able to be taken up. They all seem to have large patterns on them which sort of start around the hem and go up the dress, they would look odd with 30cm taken off the bottom. I am yet to find a plain-ish one.
Oh yeah that would be an issue if your not tall, sorry i assume everyones tall because im 5'9.. even a nice skirt and top with flats would look really nice as well.
ahh.. the curse of the short people this season. I can't fit maxi dresses either. Not to mention my shape makes them look more like tents.
Black pants are fine, but I think a nice top (not black) has to dress it up. I also think guys shouldn't go a boring suit & white shirt, but dress that up too. Loose the tie, and wear a really snazzy shirt - there's so many good ones out there. :)
I had to get friends to specifically talk one of DH's mates out of wearing jeans. He still wore a horrible alcohol-brand tie... but I was happy it wasn't jeans & a polo shirt!
Tinks nothing wrong with wearing black to a Wedding ... i was thinking if it's kind of a casual feeling maybe they were hoping for more fun as in colours to wear (just a hunch) ... if you only have black to wear why not just add some colour with jewellery and maybe shoes that are not black (though that would be fine too) :D
Thanks Smiles! I always wear black, have done since I was a teenager. I don't even own colourful clothes
I'm going to go shopping tomorrow and see what I can find.
hey, Tinks if it makes ya feel better ... i reckon i have worn black to most Weddings i've been too ;) ... If all else fails just wear your black and pop into Diva for some jewellery (that's if you like wearing jewellery), they have a nice ** aqua colour ** range called ALOHA (i bought the Stain Glass Earrings, gorgeous on & very light to wear), even have a look on their Diva website before shopping (they have a huge sale on at present), it even gives you an idea of what jewellery looks great together ... :D (i love black & aqua together, makes for something different)
I would wear black also, but only for an evening wedding. If it were me, i would wear a dress and killer heels - but i'm a girly girl and love any chance to get dressed up. I'd also rather be over dressed than under dressed, esp for a wedding.
It's an evening wedding with a rock band!!! The bride isn't wearing a traditional wedding dress and it does state casual on the invite.....
I've been shopping all day and no skirts or dresses I tried on did me any justice. So I've decided on pants.
After trying on clothes all day (and annoying my kids in the process) and not buying anything this is what I've almost decided on. Black pants, dressy black singlet top with a hint of silver and a black cap sleeve bolero to cover the tuck shop lady arms. Do you thik that's OK? I seriously have NO idea but it looked good on.
Next question.....Do you think black 3/4 trousers would be alright or should I go full length?
.......... sounds really nice Tinks
I'd go 3/4 especially if hot night and wear a pair of sexy silver or black heels or mini heels with 'em (or long pants if coolish day ??) :D
Tinks what date is the Wedding ??? (there's a reason i'm asking ;))
2nd of Jan....This Sat.
Are you gonna be there??????
... oh darn i just checked beginning of your thread so it's THIS this weekend coming ... oh i could kick myself as i have a gorgeous sparkly diamenete wide wrist band i just bought you could have borrowed and just given back to me when up at GC, ... ahhhh wouldn't be able to post to you in time from country Vic , wahhhh can't leave house to post as have plumber here at present and tomorrow i'm going to see a surgeon and visit Uncle in Hosp (no time for PO), double wahhh :crying:
Oh spewing Smiles. Thanks for the thinking of me!
..... no worries (my butt is bruised now, lol), ...hey always another time ;)
Sounds good to me...I agree with Smiles, I'd go the 3/4 pants with some sexy heels ;)
