ooh be careful with chromium - it's easy to od on it!
Chromium is supposed to help with sugar cravings, its a common supplement taken on low carb diets. I never noticed a difference but I am not much of a sweet tooth anyway... also to consider that supplements only help if your dietary intake is inadequate.
What form are you taking it in? how much are you taking?
Its natures Own Chromium Picolinate 400mcg i take one a day.
its a tablet
It's got to be in a specific form or it can't be utilised, although I imagine they wouldn't bother selling it unless it was....
If in doubt stop taking it (I know someone who got the same thing from it), and get onto the brewers yeast instead. That stuff rocks on heaps of levels!
I think I get over sugar cravings in about a week - so you might not have long to go on that side of it?
sorry to go OT, but how do you take the brewers yeast Lu?
....... i took the Tony Ferguson one for ages and it didn't help me with cravings !!
3 days is a long time to still have the headaches.
I took blackmores sugar balance tablets and found them to be helpful esp with the 3oclock cravings that I get.
IN PINTS OF GUINNESS!
I think you can get it in tablet form, or can add it to your food somehow - I just go straight to the source.....
Brewers yeast is also full of B Group vitamins, some of which are great for stress, sleeplessness etc.
Another good source of Chromium is wholewheat bread.
EWW, you can keep your guiness LOL.
mmmm, guinness
Mmmm at Micawbers.....
but guiness is not good for weight loss ;) well not the amount i like
i only had the head ache yesterday and today, which is why im wondering if it is my body going through sugar withdrawals?
.... Ellissa i had ' that ' headache for a good 3 days and from memory it's the body going through withdrawals which i was told is the norm !!
were you eating massive amounts of sugar before?
(i know i wasn't but then i wasn't drinking alot water !! ... so keep up with the water intake, it will help with the headaches)
i didnt get to be my size from eating veggies
yeah definatly TOO much sugar
I dunno if it's the chromium - my friend had the same experience with the headaches. Why don't you knock it off for a few days and see what happens?
Sds had terrible headaches when he was forced to give up drinking Coke (2l a day), I assumed it was more the caffiene than the sugar..
I forgot to mention Ellissa (& Lulu) that i recently found out from my GP that my headaches of recent (seperate situation to my previously mentioned experience) that it's due to my swapping from def to normal strength coffee and drinking more than i did before ... GP said to go back to def and drink NO more than 2 per day (and i thought WOW that's gonna be a hard one but so far with warmer weather it's been easier to do) ... So Ellissa could it be a combination including drinking ' maybe ' more coffee than usual (??) xoxo
nope i drink tea and have 1 maybe 2 cups a day.
with the no sugar means no chocolate which is HUGE for me as i believe i have a a real addiction to chocolate.
i dont have a head ache today(maybe cos i have hurt my neck) so still not sure what it is. have been keeping up water as i dont like taking panadol until absolutley necessary.
yeh sounds like sugar withdrawals as i've had before too !!
