Next 50% rebate thingy?

Does anyone know when the next 50% rebate thing is due to be paid?

It would be soon - the quarter ended on Dec 31st - allow extra time for the holidays though and delays in processing. I think it's normally within 6 weeks of the quarter end isn't it?

haha i have just been looking at this, mine is usually 4 weeks after the end of quarter.. so hopefully a few more weeks to go

Child care rebate.
They normally start processing them on the third Monday of the month or thereabouts, and aim to pay most people within 2-3 weeks, but technically it can be up to 3 months.

it's generally starts processing 3 weeks after the end of the last week that starts (monday) in the previous calendar month. so for december it would be three weeks from this monday just been (so around the 25th to start paying). it's all a bit complicated!

i pay full CC fee's but i get centerlink payments, how do i apply for the rebate?

you need to check with the child care provider if they are an approved or registered carer

if they are registered - none of this info re rebates applies. you pay full fees. IF both yourself and your partner are working at least 15 hours per week, you can put the receipts in and claim back a small amount after it's been paid. if you're not both working/studying/training at least 15 hours, you won't get anything at all

if they are an approved carer, you need to register for child care benefit through c'link. if you're getitng parenting payment, you'll automatically receive maximum rate child care benefit. you then need to provide your c'link reference number to the child care provider and they will link you up. if you're both studying working yada yada (lol) you get up to 50 hours subsidised care per week, if nott, just 24. the ccb will reduce the amount you pay each week to the child carer (for any weeks already passed, you'll get your entitlement at tax time)

if you're both working/studying (yada yada again lol) and the carer is an approved carer, you will then qualify to get half of your out of pocket costs rebated to you at the end of each quarter

ahh k, well im going to say that because i dont work or study that its a no go, im pretty sure they're registered because they asked me if i was getting benefits when i signed her up. i said i was but didnt go through with the whole thing, maybe i'll talk to them next week when we go back

ETA i just filled in an online form saying that i dnt work but DF does and it says
Your Approved Child Care Benefit Percentage is:
For 1 child in care 71.11%

does that mean i can only pay 71%? sorry if its a dopey question, centerlink confuses me!

If you are eligble for 71% it means that cl will pay 71% of the $3.6 per hour( which is about $2.5), and you pay the rest plus any gap. So for example- in long day care if your fees are $60 per day centre link with pay $30 of your fees ($2.5 x12) and you will pay $30. (which is the other $1.1 per hour plus the gap)

I think that is right- please correct me if I am wrong BG.

yup - child care is kinda like going to the doctors (hear me out!)

with the doc - medicares says they SHOULD charge x amount, but they charge y - so you pay the difference between x and y

with child care, the basic amount is x (around 3.60-3.70) per hour, but most places charge a higher amount (y) per hour

now, with child care benefit, you get a percentage of x rebated, then you pay the difference between x and y PLUS whatever percentage of x you don't get (so in your circumstances, it would be 29% of x PLUS the difference between x and y)

Normally it shows up online 1-2 days before it's paid, we got ours today so they must have started this week

We got ours yesterday, I think it showed up on the online services on Tuesday.

I just looked on Centrelink and mine will be paid on Wednesday 27th January - YAY!!!

Can I ask how they pay them...as in state by state or by surname in alphabetical order....?? Just that I always get mine in the following month to everyone else. As in I will get mine in Feb where as other people online seem to get theirs paid immediately.

We are with ABC in Qld.

Twinkle, sometimes it depends on the reporting system that the centre is using. If it is an old one then it takes longer to reconcile the details. Is it only you receiving it late or a lot of people using the same centre?

Megs - Our girls are attend ABC and I think some parents get theirs earlier, but my sister and I both get ours around the same time, hers is always a bit earlier by a week or two.

the pymts are made based on a number of factors. includes when info is received from your child care centre, he number of payments made in your state on a certain date etc

Yep - still waiting here too!! Wish they'd hurry up with it.

they've only been paying for a week or so now. the banks can only accept a certain number of payments each day, so that number is spread across the states. if they tried to pay all amounts on the same day, it would crash the system and no one would get anything.

Ok, I feel like a GOOSE because I can't find payment info on the Centrelink site. I have logged in and the headings I see are My Services, About Payments, About Services and Publications etc but can't see payment info under any of these. Help!

Hmmmm, no I don't have a 'home' page with any payment information. I think the problem lies where I have two numbers. One that I used for the web to log claims and then they gave me another number for when I called and then DD1 has her own number a well. I have a feeling it is on the number that I use when I call as it is what the payment is under but I don't have a password for that.....oh well.

Tinsel - the two numbers link together - a large number of people have a different customer access number (CAN) for online/self service to their customer reference number (CRN) - which is what appears on letters and on your health care card if you have one. the information should appear under the CAN provided you have a high enough access level. given the headings you have just listed, it's possible you don't have a high enough access level - if you have Level 1, you can view the info you listed. Level 2 allows you to view your payments etc, level 3 allows you to update more information than level 2. when you go online, you hsould have the option of providing additional information to upgrade your access level. if you don't have the information, you can call c'link/FAO on 136150 to upgrade your access level
