A grieving mother
This morning I went to the cemetary to spend time with my Emmanuel and whilst there a mother was sitting alone sobbing her heart out. I could feel her pain, so raw, I wanted to put my arms around her but just wasn't sure if that would be the right thing to do. Her cries were getting louder, I wanted to take her pain away. I walked over to her, knelt down beside her and placed my hand on her shoulder. She looked at me and then embraced me, I held her so tight like you would your child and cried with her, we didn't speak, we didn't have to. Once she stopped crying she thanked me, I gave her my phone number but I'm sure we will meet again, our angels brought us together but sometimes I just think life is so unfair. Why do these things happen, why do people have to go through so much pain?
Thanks for reading, I just needed to get that out, can't stop thinking of her, hope she is ok.
Regards,
Dianne

what heartbreaking circumstances that have brought you to each other. And what a priviledge to provide comfort and healing to each other.
-
What an amazing thing to do, in this day and age no-one even looks sideways at people if they look emotional, let alone go and sit with them in their time of need.
You made me cry
I hope you hear from her and she is doing ok!
-
Oh, such a beautiful thing to do, I do hope you meet again, your kindness, sincerity and absolute understanding of what the mother is going through has brought tears to me eyes :comfort:

I am so glad you were there for her today. It is an honour to be with another in such pain - & you are a beautiful compassionate soul for meeting her in a "place" that is so raw.
Hugs to you & to the other Mama. xxx

Sometimes the blessing that comes from our pain is the ability to reach out to those feeling the same torture, that same sense of loss. You are a special woman to reach out through your own loss to comfort someone on a similar path
-
What a lovely thing you did Dianne, you've made me teary too.
While they may be strangers in some sense, grieving mothers share a bond, and I'm sure whether you have more contact or not she will always be grateful for the support you gave.
Thank you for making the world a nicer place, hugs to you both xx
-
Another cryer here too... Its nice to know there are still people out there who will help others in a time of need.

What a wonderful thing you did. By reaching out to her, and sharing your grief you have, no doubt, made her world a much better place.

Dianne, you are amazing. And I think you did the right thing. As sad as that made me, it's also so beautiful, I find it uplifting in a strange kind of way. If there were more people like you, this world would be a more gentle place.
Keep doing the things you do......... I am really moved by your courage and kindness.
-
Dianne,
Your courage and kindness melts my heart. Promise me you'll keep doing things like this. If only there were more people like you. I am sure karma will smile on you for your unselfish deed.

Oh Dianne, I couldn't read and not post. What an amazing heartfelt gesture. I agree that you two were brought together for a reason. I had tears in my eyes, I can only begin to imagine just how much what you did ment to this grieving woman

A very similar thing just happened to me (I had my laptop in my bag, I've been at the cemetery all day visiting everyone I know in here, looking at 200-year-old graves, and finally ended up back at Ianto's)
I was fussing over Ianto's grave, making sure things looked nice and tidy for him... I looked up when I noticed a heap of people around where I was, and realised there was a funeral going on about 100m away. An adult funeral. I couldn't help but watch as the coffin was taken out of the hearse and placed in the ground. It hit me - Ianto was supposed to be putting me in the ground one day, not the other way around. It didn't help that I was in the exact same kneeling position I was during his funeral, either. It just hurt. So I cried, hard sobs that just ripped through me. I tried to keep my voice down (there was a funeral going on!) but everything I wanted to say just poured out. I told Ianto how much I missed him, that I wanted to kiss his precious little face again... It just all tumbled out, things I didn't realise I've been thinking...
I'd seen a few minutes earlier an older woman placing flowers on one of the other babies' graves, but I thought she'd left - until she came up behind me and gave me a massive hug and a handful of tissues. She said told me that she knew what I was going through, she'd lost a son of her own (the one she'd been visiting) and that I wasn't alone, "please don't forget that"... Then she left. I stayed a little longer at his graveside and waited for the funeral to leave. And then got out my laptop to tell you all about it (no doubt this will end up on my blog)
I'm considering leaving a card for this lady, maybe put some flowers on her son's grave with a (laminated) note saying thankyou - what do you think?

I think that would be perfectly beautiful Teni... xxx :comfort:

I think that would mean the world to the other lady as well... Hugs...
