My girls are at a private primary school after having alot of trouble with DD1's 1st 2 years at a public primary.
Mine are at public High School and public Primary School, have had no problems that they couldn't deal with.

Dianne
My son will hopefully be going to an independant p-12 school, he's in prep next year. The main reason other than me really liking the school and their primary program, is that the govt school we are zoned to only opened last year and is very much a construction site, it's p-12 also but on about one third of the size land with more than double the enrolment
I've also had really positive recommendations about this school so I'm hoping he gets in.
ours go to a public school K-6 and then onto the local high school.
Polls can only be added by moderators. I can add one if you wish.
As for us. My boys go to a R-12 public school. There is over 1000 kids, but the R-6 section don't mix with the older kids, only if they do "excursions" into the other section of the school. There is 350 odd kids in the R-6 section and around 700 in the rest of the school which is broken down into middle and senior schools.
tiny independent primary with ponies and goats :)
mine go to public, one in high school and one in primary.
Astro - can you add independent please?

DD goes to an independant Christian school. P-12 I love the idea of her going through the one school and not having the anxiety of changing schools and friends in high school etc.
The girls school is kind of an odd set up, its St pats from p-6 but then in the same property is Mercy regional college 7-12 so i guess its kinda the same setup as a p-12 but you have to enrol them in mercy when they hit grade 6 its not continuous IYKWIM
Public primary, then they'll go onto public high school.
added other options
aww my vote ran away
My DS1 goes to a Catholic Primary School. One of those new ones with open learning. No doors inside except for the unisex toilets. No toilet block, unisex toilets around the building and best of all no Canteen  Oh and it will be capped at only 350 kids which is great considering where I live most of the schools are p-9 with over 800 kids :o
My boys both go to a Catholic K-10 school. It's a wonderful little school, classes are very small (around 20 in kinda and 25 in the others) and they have the 1/2 2/3 3/4 class set ups :)
We love it there. They were in a public school in Hobart because the privates were WAY exxy, but the public school here sucks and the private is only at the end of my street and affordable so we sent them there :)
My DD1 has been to 3 schools. 2 very small public schools & one Catholic school. I personally chose the school based on the number of kids really.
We lived in a smaller town with a school of 12 when she was in kindy. That was a bit too small though & the kids she was friends with were about 9, coz there were no girls her age. Too old IMO. So we moved to a bigger town & I chose the Catholic school with about 150 kids over the public with about 300 kids. TBH the area we lived in wasn't great & I didn't want her at school with some of the kids I met.
Then we moved here 18 months ago & both girls go to a public school of about 50. I'm very happy with the school. Unfortunately though they might have to change again :(
We've decided to try build our own place 40 minutes away. Its just to far to drive them here every day & there is no bus that comes out here. Our options will either be a small public school 10 minutes away, or into town to the Catholic school. Not sure what we'll do yet.
They'll more than likely all go to a public high school though.
My kids are in private school, ELC3 (or 3 year old kinder :)) to year 12. They go to another campus about 20 mins away for years 11 and 12. I chose the school (and this campus specifically) because it is small and I like the ethos. We have about 350 kids from ELC3 - Year 10. It is a small, caring community and I feel my kids are very safe there (in every sense of the word!). Our local public schools are huge and I've heard some pretty poor reviews about them. I wasn't very impressed when I went to look at them, for a variety of reasons.
I love the kids school, although I don't much love the fees! My kids are both very happy at the school, they can't wait to get there in the morning and they want to stay and play in the afternoon. I'm very comfortable leaving them there. It's the right choice for us :D
Hmmm, tricky to answer. I have one child in a private school and another in a public one... but since we are planning to move to another town and enrol all the kids in the same private system: I selected that.
The local public primary school has been ok... but I wasn't keen on the hot temporary classrooms, the bare dirt playground and the canteen that sold mainly junk food, and the very relaxed uniform standards. The teachers were great though and if we were staying put he would have done ok there academically.
Private country schools are much cheaper than city ones thankfully :) And they have similar, if not better standards (from what I have seen so far).
DS starts school next year and will be going to a public primary school which we are zoned too. Just so happens that it is the best primary school in the region so we are very lucky.
We just got our interview appt letter for ds' school next year (for prep)
I can't believe it's come around so fast.
My kids go to public schools. My girls go to a country school with about 100 kids and my son goes to the local high school with about 400 students.
