Evap line within 3 mins???

I did a HPT today. Admittedly it wasn't the best time of day to do it. I'd just gone to the toilet a couple of hours before, I'd recently had a glass of water and it wasn't FMU, but I did it anyway:redface:

Anyway, after about 2.5 mins I noticed a VERY faint mark at the bottom of where the control line is supposed to be. It probably didn't even go half-way up the line. I think it had a pinkish ting to it but it was hard to tell as it was just so light.

Anyway, my question is, has anyone experienced this? The mark definitely wasn't there before doing the test. Could it be an evap line? (I thought they only turned up after 10ish mins). It was a first response test.....

Any thoughts would be appreciated AND before you ask, I plan to test again on the weekend and make sure I use FMU next time, just wondering what your thoughts are in the meantime...

I would get first response prego test, and do it tomorrow morning.. if you dont have one at home.. pee in a cup and when you get a chance to do one tomorrow soemtime use your urine you have saved.

id say a BFP :D
if its before the time and still visable then its a pos :D

kawazuki - Even if it is only a 'mark' and not a total line??

didispunk - I did test with first response. I have one more of these tests left and plan to do the test again on the weekend.

Oh I hope so Winter but I'm not getting my hopes up. You ladies are making me feel a bit better about it though.

Now to hold off til the weekend - note to self - no more testing with afternoon urine!;)

yup, I had one that was a partial and I was freaking because I had no idea. Tested a few days later and was DEFINATELY a BFP. I think my pee was incompatible or something because turned out i was 3 months along :oops:

Well I don't know what that mark was but I tested this morning and it was a BFN:cry:

Still no AF though so I don't know what is going on.....

Could be that the stick was tilted wrong during application. Had one like that in the past. Good luck hun!

I would give it a couple of more days and test again

is it from the same batch? maybe its dodgy try a different brand

yeah this is where i would go a *little* mad in my usual POAS addict kind of way and go out and buy a few cheaper brands like pregnosis and crystal clear and test away! FWIW i NEVER got a BFP with FR early response. for some reason it just didnt click...even after the others had strong BFPs....weird.

kawazuki - yes all 3 tests I've done were from the same box. The first I did 1 day before AF was due and BFN (not sure why I tested then, I knew it wouldn't be pos cause it was too early...). The second was the one with the 'mark' in it and the 3rd was the BFN yesterday.

Cassius2 - I went with first response this time as last time I got my first BFP with a pregnosis (after waiting 7ish mins for it to come up) and then tested later that afternoon with a FR and had a BFP show up almost before I put it down...

Alan - Thanks for your advice. I might leave it until next weekend and if AF still hasn't shown test again. Just a question for you (I see you are a midwife), I had a very early miscarriage last cycle (it was 'dated' about 6 weeks but I believe it was closer to 5). Do you believe my cycle could therefore just be messed up this time?

It is possible that your cycle is messed up, and I suppose this may have contributed to your positive test result. But don’t give up hope just yet, you never know.
