I'm honestly not sure where to post this, but here goes.
I've got DS down - and TRYING to get him to sleep. I've tucked his sheet into the side of the cot and he just keeps kicking it off, which is driving me insane! What can I do to either stop him from kicking it off or get it in tighter?
It's honestly driving me insane :wall:
Is the sheet just to keep him warm? Would he use a light sleeping bag? Then he couldnt kick it off ;)
If its to keep him snug, try using a bigger sheet (like a single size) that will wrap right under the mattress & see how that goes?

Doesnt he go to sleep if the sheet isnt tucked in? Maybe he would like being wrapped?
This is the first time we're trying him in the cot with the sheets tucked over him. He used to do it a heap in the basinette, but never worried about it because it was winter and he'd have his long wondersuits on that kept him warm.
I might have to try the single sheet idea, because it gets pretty cool in the house
Our son has slept WITHOUT covers every night since hes been in his cot at 6 months
I just dress him to keep him warm enough. that way he can roll around and not wake up and hes happy. otherwise hes up every 5 minutes when it gets colder Ill put a light blanket in with him but his pjs and warm enough now

We got him to sleep without covers on him, and it's still cool in there, so I'm just bout to go put a light sheet over his legs
LJ I used to roll up a terry flat nappy (fold in half and then roll) and wedge that down the side.
DS will never have sheets or blankets on him. He hates it and always kicks it off, then gets all twisted up and wakes up screaming. So he wears a sleeping bag suit and when it gets really cold he have the heating on.
Some kids just seem to really hate have sheets on them
I second the sleeping bag idea. Tristan crawls out of his blankets lol.
I wait until DD is asleep and then cover her. Since she stopped being wrapped as a baby she's always kicked her sheets and blankets off while going to sleep, but leaves them on once asleep.

FWIW some kids do hate the sheets (but they get used to them) but other kids hate those sleeping bags too. Both my pair absolutely hated them.
LJ iz does the same thing, definetly get some slleping bags, we have 2 grobags in rotation atm, theyre awesome!
LJ - I think I have a sleeping bag suit at home that we dont use - I think its bright orrange so would suit a boy. PM me your adrress hun and Ill post it to you and you can have it.xox ( I hope its still at home after me big clean out!!)

full price theyre about $80 but theyre sized 0-6 months 6-18 months, so considering how long u use them for its well worth it.
baby bunting just had them on special for $62!!
LJ, I've seen them for sale in the Quokka.
If you go to best & less you can pick up similar things for about $20. They are like dressing gowns that zip up & closed at the bottom. I used them alot. They aren't as thick as grow bags, but they do have sleeves in them as well.
DS hates having blankets on too. When he's asleep I'll put them on, but they usually don't stay on for long. Drives me nuts when he mostly sleeps between us!
Just make sure he's dressed warm enough & don't worry too much about the sheets I guess :)
I picked up some grobags in great condition from the babies and kids market last time it was here for about $7 each so that might be worth a look-in. I was also considering buying some online from the uk because they were about half the price they are here!

No matter how often I go in and put the blanket back on J, the moment I turn my back, it's off. I just dress him warm.
When he was little, a sleeping bag... he couldn't get out of that one! When he could stand up in his cot, we stopped the sleeping bag coz he kept falling over his own feet

Both DD and DS refuse to sleep under sheets and blankets so I have invested in snugtime sleep suits. They are like sleeping bags but have the legs and arms like a normal onesie. My kids would get tangled in sleeping bags and they hated them but love these suits. They can move around like normal without getting tangled and then as I'm heading off to bed I would cover them with a blanket. The house we lived in when DD was born was like an iceicle in winter and she was as warm as toast.
The snug time sleep suits are a bit pricey but I got some off ebay. Good luck.
Liz check out bazaars, garage sales, ebay and op shops. They usually have some majorily reduced. Or do you have some friends who use them who can lend you ones there kids have grown out of?
I'd happily send you the 3 I have, but I'll be needing them again :doh: You'd be more than welcome otherwise. Vinnies & op shops are great places to pick up some of that stuff. You might get an amazing bargain!
