We don't always give each other a present, if anything we just try and have some quiet time to ourselves or go out to our favourite restaurant.
We will celebrate on the day, which we have taken as the first day we met (which is 9years next Thursday, and bub's EDD!!)
Hopefully I can give birth to bub on our anniversary as it would be something special
Not sure what you can do to beat a family trip to Fiji... maybe organise for Miss A to be looked after one day/afternoon and go for a couple's massage, sunset dinner
Belle- You cant beat a baby as a present! LOL :) !7th June is my B'day as well.
I think DP is working on the night so maybe I should organise for us to go to brunch or something.

DH and I have two anniversaries - the date we officially became a couple (October 12) and our wedding day (April 17). For the first year we were together, we celebrated the October anniversary, but now we just stick to the official April one. If we have the spare cash, we give each other gifts (usually perfume or jewellery for me, and I buy him something to do with whatever his hobby at the time is: camping gear, video games etc), but if not, we just get the kids off to my parents' for the night and go out to a fancy restaurant (because I insist, it's the one and only time in any 12-month period we actually go out to dinner), then go home and watch a DVD and see if we can get a sleep-in the next morning :)

I'm sure whatever you decide as a present will be special as it comes from you, as we've found out it isn't always the price tag that counts

Just celebrate wedding anniversary, generally I get him a pressie and he takes me out for dinner. This year I got us tickets to see Mary poppins in sept.
Didnt go out for dinner as DH was in sydney for work but we did get take away on the weekend after and have some wine
1. We used to buy gifts, but stuff you treasure together is more of a memory for us
2. We usually have a reallly late dinner (after the kids are in bed) of our favourite meal at home (I love to cook and we rarely have enough money to splash out) and then play a board game together until the wee hours. Daggy I know, but we enjoy it.

We count our anniversary from the day we 'officially' started dating and there was nudity and sleepovers involved :)
Since that was the day before his birthday (which is a public holiday) we usually wind up out for dinner somewhere, and presents may or may no be involved. We're not big on ceremony. If we ever do get married, we'd probably pick the same day again, just to make it easier to remember.
Our Anniversary is the day he kissed me and also the day we got married.
I love thoughtful presents. It can be something as simple as a box of memories (that you can add to can include cards with memories, photo's, souvenirs like old ticket stubs or sand in a bottle from a beach you love) or a PPS or Movie you've made with memories. A book of love vouchers that you've made yourself.
we only really celebrate our weddng anni because we cant remember the date we got togehter :(

Df and I met and got together on valentines day so he gets to kill 2 birds with one stone. Usually we will buy something small, or if we can go out to a really nice place for dinner and make that our gift to each other.
You could make like a voucher book for him with nice things, such as giving him massage, fav meal, add in AO stuff too. Costs u nothing and u can pick whatever u like to put in it.

2. What do you give your DP, DF or DH? Our one year i got him an Ayrton Senna wall picture he took me to melbourne :) our 5 year unfortunately nothing as we were seperated..
3. What do you do to celebrate your anniversary? Usually try and spend the entire day together so we put in leave, we have lunch together maybe go out to dinner and exchange gifts sometimes he will just get flowers or choccies and i buy him a game.
4. When do you count your anniversary from if you are not married? We actually count from the first day he kissed me. We technically didn't start going out until 2 weeks after but its a nice memory to have, my first kiss :)

4. When do you count your anniversary from if you are not married? We class our anniversary as the day we started going out! We met on the 26th 0f April 2002 and he asked me to be his girlfriend on the 27th of April 2002, He then proposed to me on our anniversary (27/04) in 2007.

1. Do you give them a gift? We do the traditional wedding gift. 7 years this year, so they are still fun sort of presents. Example when it was wood I got a jewllery box & I gave DH a Bonsi. I look forward to 20 - 30 years time, when the bling starts!!

3. What do you do to celebrate your anniversary? Dinner or lunch this year as it is a Monday and we have Mondays off. We try to do something different. Last year was a lovely French place, this year I have already picked a Spanish place (Movida for anyone that watches Masterchef).
4. When do you count your anniversary from if you are not married? Before marriage we know we got together in the month of November (not sure of the official date), so we used to pick a day to do somethiing special during that month.

2. I give DH love letters randomly, I've been known to send flowers to him at work, a get him nice photos of DD (now to be of DD's) done. None of these always on our anniversary.
3. We used to do gifts, now we just tend to spend money on dinner at a really nice place - we've been to Quay Restaurant, Aria and Sydney Tower. I've also arranged sunset picnics on the beach or at a park or a champagne picnic somewhere.
4. Used used to celebrate our anniversary from the day that he asked me out for the first time (april 18) but we didn't do it this year. We plan on just doing our wedding anniversary (Sept 18)
Oh you lucky devil going to fiji! woohoo! We dont' usually give gifts to eachother or to others for that matter (unless we feel compelled ) we prefer to do nice things together make a day out somewhere, give a massage, have a spa, prep some snacks to kick back and watch a movie together, go out for dinner or cook a nice meal and have it with wine etc. Really just being together for a bit of quality time to reconnect is the most important thing. The lack of gifts I think may be a sore point for some family members as they consider that the 'done' thing but time and connection is more important to us. Sometimes a gift is nice though if we know the person we are giving it too will like it. We take our anniversary from our wedding day and the day we actually got together so we kinda have 2 anniversaries ;)
We celebrate our wedding anniversary only. We don't usually buy gifts, just try and do somethng special together. Our wedding anniversary is the same day as DD1's birthday, so it's not easy getting time away though.
I don't think you'd need to get your dp a gift at all, as I would think that by you all going to fiji, that you both would be contributing financially?

Though it didn't mark our official beginning as a couple as despite talking each others' ears off for that long, I announced at the end of it that I "wasn't sure we got along." DP just gave me a knowing smile and left very gracefully.

Today is our anniversary!! 9 years!!! Geez we have had ou rough patches let me tell you but we have grown so much as individuals and a couple and now a family.
As I leave these things to the last minute, DP wont get his gift until he gets home from work tonight.
I am going to set up some candles and we can have champagne in bed.

Last night I basically turned my house upside down looking for photos from the last 9 years (and realised I have a massive job to do with organising all of my photos). I have found a photo of the two of us from each year of our relationship and scanned them onto my laptop and onto a USB. I have also put photos of other significant things like when we got our 1st furbaby, and the 2nd furbaby and an US pic of DD and then our first family pic, pic of DD with our dogs, all 5 of of us together.
I am going to take them down to Kmart today and get a photobook made as my gift to DP. I am also going to get a plant (not sure what type but something special) and on the weekend, the 5 of us (DP, DD, dogs & I) can plant it together in a pot.
Sunshine- I think I will also write a love letter to DP. Reminds me of back when we were young.
Jodi- Even though we have said we dont need gifts, I really want to surprise DP with this as he has been working so hard, picking up extra weekend shifts so that we can have money for our Fiji Holiday. He said Fiji isnt my present but I like to think :)

I have found DF loves things ive put my own effort and love into.I made him my homemade rocky road and WOW he was so happy. Or a photo of us in a nice frame or even you could make a collage of pics ive found its the personal ones that mean the most
Well I went and made a photo book this morning at Kmart and DD chucked the biggest tantrum when I was 3/4 of the way through. I was so embarrassed as I had to get it done as it wouldnt save my work if I left it as was and I had to rush to get it done as everyhting I tried to distract DD just didnt work (bottle, food, keys, mobile, toys from Kmart, you name it). So anyway I am going to pick it up this arvo and I hope I am happy with it as I didnt really get to check over it properly. :(

We celebrate the anniversary of our first date, because we became a couple straight away. It was 10 years for us last November. We always buy each other a gift and usually go out for dinner. I got DP a really nice watch last year, being ten years and all that. He nearly died when he realised how much I'd spent but he loves it and wears it every day.
BUT the gift DP has loved the most was a book I made for him for his first Fathers' Day. It is a little story about 'Why I love my Daddy' from DD (with a little help from Mummy ;)). So I'm sure he will love the photo book you made him!
We go with the wedding anniversary date, we used to buy gifts but now we have kids we get someone to watch the girls and we go stay somewhere nice, we have been to the park hyatt, grand hyatt and up in the hills.
I'm sure it'll turn out great, kids always pick perfect timing to chuck tanty's.
