I have a funny question: I would like to know how other women shave their fanny area when they have a real bump happening . Im 24 wks pregnant and i had to use the mirror today to do the shave as it was like a forrest and was driving me crazy! I didnt do a great job so i was wondering whether other mums to be just give up or do the mirror thing or how ??

LOL I did it without looking for awhile & I think by the 3rd trimester I had just given up.
I go and get waxed.. no itching afterwards.. lasts longer and the pain is not bad at all.
if not maybe use a cream that disolves the hair like NAIR etc??
I just get dhs hair clippers and shave away.... then I get him to take a look and tell me if i need to fix it up!!!! Or use a little hand mirror.
I have done the brazzilian before and all I can say is ouch!!!

Yes the DH shaved it for me about 6 weeks ago but i think that was part of foreplay lol
I'm a waxer, and then someone else cleans up the mess lol, but in times of desperation my DH is great at it....even with a regular razor.
Bahaha I have vivid memories of me cramped up in our tiny shower cubicle when pg with DD1, in the last weeks of pg, desperately trying to push my huge belly out of the way so I could see what I was doing!! :)
I mainly went by feel - give it a whiz with the razor and run a hand over it to check you haven't missed any spots... if you have, just keep. attacking!! until it's done lol :/
You girls are lucky, my DH wouldn't even dream of helping me out like that bahahaha. 'I don't wanna look at it, I wanna do *other* stuff to it' he reckons :/
Yeah but if the forrest isnt chopped back then you cant even get in to the 'other' stuff....... some men are silly lol

I just shave where i usually know i need to. But im more careful so i dont cut myself up all down there. I did say to DP that he would have to help me towards the end and he didnt seem too enthused so i might just use a mirror or do the best i can.
Shaving my legs are getting hard specially with a big belly in the way.. so again just do my best lol
with DD towards the end it was soooooooooo hard but the other day i did and it is already gettin hard with this one i must be carrying lower. i tryin to shove my bump out of the way a bit to have a squiz but mostly just go by feel. but the end i always have a sore back and neck leaning over lol. oh and i always trim with the clippers to get the bulk out of the way then give the razor ago its easier to do if there is hardly any hair lol these days its gettin longer between shaves lol.
does anyone else start feeling yuck and kinda itchy when the hair gets a bit over a cm?

after watching a birth video whilst pg with DS1 and seeing that the woman looked like she had dreads down their :o I began hair removal cream treatment.
Its from Avon, easy to use, 10 mins off then rinse it off in the shower...done.
I didn't shave it at all!

I got DH to do it (and my legs) and he still does it down there for me. Think he enjoys it more though LOL Would be nice if her still did my legs for me too... such a chore sometimes **sigh**

and this might be TMI but i dont feel at all 'sexy' when i have the forrest happening ..... is anyone the same?
Ive tried a few and cause ive got sensitive skin Ive found this one the best. My skin is smooth afterwards and no itching :dance::

no sure of the nameof the cream but its AVON's normal range..it goeson special sometimes for $16 for 2 tubes
I wax soo soo much easier only need to do it once a month and thats not even full growth at all just enough to rewax I find if I don't wax I get ingrowns from shaving and the removal cream made me sit in a milk bath and waddle for 2 weeks and was red raw!!!
i have had a Brazilian once (loved the outcome) but it killed around the 'party' area if you know what i mean and that was before this pregnancy ... so thats why im a little coy as to have it done again as im scared it will hurt like hell!

Bubno.3, yeah I definitely don't feel sexy unless everything's tidy downstairs, I find the sensation is a lot better when I'm clean-shaven, a lot more sensitive to touch (in a good way!).
I've tried waxing myself at home, but I need like, four arms to hold the skin taut and rip it off lol, toying with getting a professional Brazilian done but just never seem to have the cash spare :/
I'm a waxer... have you tried waxing? Its so quick & then you dont have to worry about it again for ages!!!! I even continued getting waxed throughout my PG's, well only about twice each PG because it takes so long to grow back! Although I havent bothered waxing for a couple of years... no need to without a partner :lol:

wax! i usually do it myslef but i got dh to do it for me while i was pg... by 3rd trimester i gave up tho :P
Hahahaha! I was the same, totally went by feel... I am usually a full Brazilian Wax girl, but just didn't feel comfortable being waxed while pregnant so shaved instead! When I couldn't see past my belly anymore, I'd to put one leg up on the soap dish in the shower so everything was nice and *ahem* accessible then just do my best! I did a pretty good job and would ask DH if I had missed any as well, no dramas :) He has done it for me before but usually that would lead to "other things" and once I got to my third trimester, I was much more willing to put up with being a little uncomfortable to shave myself rather than to possibly tempt him to do "other things" hahaha! My Libido = Zilch by that stage!
Back to my waxing now though - And back to loving "other things" Aaaah the relief haha :D

Might have to give the Avon a go. I have pretty sensitive skin everywhere. I have shaved before, but my hair just grows back so fast, I literally get like 6-12 hours of smoothness before I get itching and regrowth :( I have really nice, soft hair down there so tbh I just keep it short and neat. But I also prefer no hair, so I might try the cream.
I used to get a brazillian done but i just cant justify the cost of it nowdays. I bought a lady trimmer and it works a treat ;)

I was probably a lady with dreadlocks. I went into shock when they said "you're going to be induced tomorrow" a MONTH early. It's the last thing I was thinking about. Felt a tad mortified later.:
I am trying to psyche up for a wax but after seeing a lady in town come out of one with blisters under her eyebrows I'm a little scared. I could deal if they blister my eyebrows but "down there"? *shudder* I'll just stick to the hair removal cream for the time being.
I think I'll give Maz's stuff a go! I used one of those, maybe Nair, & it burnt my legs after a few seconds, so I never had the guts to try it anywhere else. Avon one might be worth a shot...
DH always asks (begs) to help me out, but I trust my guesstimate more than I trust his excitement ;)
I can't use the normal stuff but I can use the sensitive skin stuff.:
DP is always doing the same to me and i say "maybe when I'm pregnant again and can't get to it"... I dunno what your excuse could be :P
I used hair removal cream and applied it standing in front of the mirror - seemed to work well. I used a few different brands that a got from the chemist/supermarket and never had any issues (I have sensitive skin).
I used Nair once, and was a little overenthusiastic with it. Can I just say OOOOOWWWWWWWWW when you get too much cream, ahem, too close to the action point:redface:
In the end I just stopped trying to get rid of it. It was hard enough to tie my shoelaces:lol: I don't think I shaved again until the twins were a few months old as action was the furthest thing from my mind.
omg, im in need of the loo reading these replies lol...i must admit that i am a shaver, i cant bear the thought of getting waxed, although i guess it be better in the long run...Hubby bought me a trimmer a few years ago and i have to say it was one of the best pressies he has ever bought.much safer than taking off the whole lot with a big bump in the way lol and when i cant reach i just have a shower and then get hubby to do the rest..lol....
LOL glad to see someone else asked the question.. I am nearly 24 weeks and can JUST still manage to shave mine in the shower at this stage (my bump is slow growing..). Think mirror and razor option is the gunna be next best thing, or just go by feel.
Unfortunately i don't have a DP or DH to help me out :( one of my girlfriends offered months ago to help when i got to this stage, but i don't speak much with her now, it would be a bit odd turning up and saying 'can you shave my nether regions plz'
