So i have two lovely girls and would be stoked to have another but i'd be lying if i said i didn't want a boy.
I have read a couple of the gender swaying threads and wow, what a lot of theories and hard work. :o
Call me lazy, but it leaves me wondering if it's worth the effort or if it really is a 50-50 chance.
So if you gender swayed were you successful? Or not?
If you were what method did you use? diet? ph? timing? moon? or listening to the voices in your head? :p
Yep worked for us. We tried gender swaying with our current pregnancy. We did the timing thing, as in only had sex till 4 days before ovulation. Ended up with the little girl we were hoping for. Or so say the scans...
Nope. Supplements, timing, position, low PH (me in 4s, DH in 7s) favouring girl resulted in DS2.
Luckilly, DH and I are both very happy our sway didnt work actually because then we wouldnt have our beautiful DS2, and DS1 wouldnt have had a baby brother.
We are NOT swaying again. Im not wasting time and money for something that obviously doesnt work for me.
But hey, swaying should work at least 50% of the time and considering its cheap and easy, why not give it a go?

My two girls were a result of DTD on O day ( i think!), and i pretty much eat all the things on the TTC Boy list i saw so what hope do we have. :lol:
I think it is sheer luck.. The most effort I went to was guestimating ovulation time and DTD at that time for DS..
worked for me. I DTD about 4 days before O and had DD. With DS DTD on O day and had a boy. But who knows?! Maybe would have been that way anyway
nah, we did the diet and timing to get another girl so DD would have a sister....we have DS.
DD has made it clear sh doesn't want another brother....so not sure how that's going to pan out lol.

Worked for us, we DTD on O and got DS. DTD 5 days before O and got DD1. DTD 5 days before O and got DD2. This time we DTD on O only .... and who knows if we are successful again for a boy, only time will tell.
We did it for DS2 and it worked. I realised that I get EWCM before I O and the day after the EWCM is gone, I get O cramps. So when TTCing we only DTD on the day that I had the cramps and then held my breath until the morphology scan LOL. In hindsight, when we were TTC 2 and 3, we DTD from the middle of my cycle until after EWCM had gone and we got the two girls, so I'm assuming that because I O after the EWCM, that doing what we did was possibly why we got the girls. We didn't do any diets or anything like that at all for any of them.
*scratches chin* clearly i am NOT well educated in O'ing. I though O'ing co-incided with EWCM, which is the only way i have ever know i O'd. Maybe that's why we have 2 girls. :D I don't think i could be bothered taking my temp, and not sure if i'd get an ovulation thermometer here in the jungle. So day after ya reckon Trill?
How do know when you O Mel? i know there's a zillion articles, but i like to think we're sitting around a table having a chat. ;)
Haha... what a chat indeed... umm I know I O because I have EWCM and its on day 14 of my cycle - but I am regular as regular.
ds1 was way out from O - so the health teacher from school told me he was definitely a girl :)

with mini me we did it 2 -3 times a day EVERY DAY that month....I kid you NOT. We really should have ended up with another boy but allas...Princess big mouth was made :p
With tank we DTD what I thought was the end of my cycle :rolleyes: as I thought I was sae to NOT fall pg and what happens...hello doddles!!!!

dh's theory is that if the father is unfit and drinks lots of beer, the baby will be a boy :)
PMSL!!! wellllll.... DH drank lots of beer when we first got together so that works for DS and then he switched to wine - so maybe thats it.. beer for boys, wine for the layyy-deees:

LOL, if we go back for no 3, DH better get onto the wines... I'd like another girl...
JM, I always thought that too but when I started paying attention to what my body was doing and counting cycle days, I realised that even with a longer cycle, counting back 14 days put my Oing after the EWCM, so I tracked it for a few months and it stayed spot on to that.
My DH was working in a cool room butchering when we had all 3 boys and we DTD right on O (3rd time was accidental as we were gender swaying but my body decided to O early...). Maybe you need to put some ice packs in your DH's jocks :p
There is also theory of a good strong coffee right before DTD to give the swimmers a boost among others. I gave my book away but if you want I can get one for you and post it over. I do believe the methods have merit because in hindsight they have worked for us if we look back at when each child was conceived. Getting the timing right at the important stage is the hard part I think ;)

So i am concluding that each pregnancy is a 50-50 chance then! Might just skip the testing and get straight to the shagging then. :p
I dtd pretty much around ovulation with all three of my boys... As far as I know, you need to be well away from Ovulation to have a girl...

it worked for DS we DTD the day of O and i got him this time im not %100 with this one but i think we DTD a couple of days before O so im hoping bub is a girl :)

Swaying is hard work if you do all the swaying factors. I was desparate for a little girl which is why I tried absolutely everything I could to get one, but it still didnt work. I honestly thought if I swayed that hard I was guaranteed to get a girl. Obviously, that isnt the case.:

Yeah DG- if we have another girl, that's cool with me. :D Either way, we'd like 4 kids, so i still get another shot! Although i am yet to wrangle 3 so things might change. :lol:

You have a great chance at having a little blue one. If not, sisters are lovely. I know because I have 4 sisters and we are all close.
With DD1 we DTD the night before O, second time around i wanted to do the same as i didnt want to actively gender sway IYKWIM so we DTD the night before once again and got DD2!

Nah Olive, not yet. ;) have met a few expats here that have had bubs, you just have to be diligent with diseases and mossies, will be home for scans and to have it though! :D
DG- i always thought i'd have 4 boys. I had DD1 and was a teeny tiny bit disappointed, but only for a second. Then i had DD2 and again i was a teeny tiny bit disappointed. But now seeing the two girls together i wouldn't have it any other way. I love my girls to bits. And you are right, sisters are special, i always wished i had one. Even if we have 4 girls i'll be stoked, DH might be checking into a psych hossy, but i'll be happy. :lol:
