Your bassinet attachment for your pram (if you had one)?
I'm trying to weigh up whether it's worth buying a pram with a basinett attachment or not.
Any feedback would be appreciated!

we used ours for about four months - used it for sleeps when we weren't co sleeping, so it was worth it for us. we also spent a fair bit of time out and about so it got enough use to warrant it
DD hated hers, she started liking the pram the day we switched to the seat, so for us it was a total waste of money!
About 6-7 months here, but ours is quite large. Love it, as I could wrap him in it for sleep, and he would snooze away for hours when out and about. Also used it at people's houses etc.
I've never had one, although with two toddlers it could be a good time saving idea? Don't tempt me ;)
Still use ours now and DD is nearly 11 months. NOt a separate attachment as such, it has a series of buckles and straps you undo so it transform from stroller to bassinet. DD will sleep in it that way at the shops, and we also use it at friends places instead of a portacot.
Hth, and don't forget, every bub is different :)
I only ever used mine on the pram once, but used it as a bassinet at home for 6 months.
I never used one at all with either bub.
I used ours for about 4 months til DD grew out of it (she was a bit tall)
Manhattan, mine is also not a separate attachment, there is a lining thing and stuff (LOL) that makes it into a bassinette from the regular pram. Great invention!
Bub is almost 7 months and we've only just started using the seat attachment in the past week or so.
He's starting to want to look around now & sit up... and with the weather being so hot, its a lot cooler flapping his legs in the breeze :D
I'm still swapping though... we took the bassinett to a 60th last weekend because I knew he'd go to sleep during the night.
I'll still use it for a while for visiting etc as he still has stacks of room..... ours is a big one though.
Most definately worth it for us :D
I have an Emmaljunga so the bassinette attachment is quite big, infact it was almost as big as the cradle we also had at the time... i used the same linen in them!
I can't remember exactly but I think it was well over 6 months. But we also used it inside the house to rock our boys to sleep in as they found it so comfortable. I also liked how i could gently move them around the house while they slept... if they fell asleep next to me at the computer I could then wheel them into their bedroom without them waking up. I also loved how if they fell asleep in it whilst out at the shops I could just walk home, wheel it inside and into the bedroom and draw the blinds and get on with something. I don't drive but I could imagine lifting them in and out of cars all the time would have meant more disturbed sleeps. With the bassinette I could leave home, hop on a train, do the shopping, come home and 9/10 they would have had a deep sleep at some stage undisturbed.
But the Emmalunga isn't for everyone... it's big and heavy and no good if you use a car daily. I'm not sure what other basinette prams are like.
Thanks for the replies.
Can I ask all of you lovely ladies which pram you have?
We're an Emmaljunga loving family here too :D
have never had one and never missed it :p
we used ours for DS1 for about 6 months and about 4 for DS2 - we have a bugaboo chamelon..
Never had one.
Ours is the Bebe Care Rverse.
Another Emmaljunga user here....DS slept (when we weren't co sleeping) in his until he was about 10 months. For walks and out and about, maybe 4 months or so.
I have a Bertini Bidwell. Pretty similar to the Emmaljunga.
our bugaboo one was used for 6 months...and well used at that (walking, sleeping etc)
I used it for 6 weeks! I tried to give DD her days sleeps in there but it turns out she had reflux so couldn't lie down without getting the burn, the poor wee sausage. So it was kind of a waste - but will keep it for the next bubba! xxx
Ours is a Silver Cross, not dissimilar to an Emmaljunga.
Bath, I used it in the house all the time for the first five months. He was so cosy and comfy in there, and I loved that I could wheel it around. Mine also has a stand which you can use, but with DS2 I just used the wheel base. DS1 didn't get as much time in it because his unmedicated reflux just didn't allow him to lie down much, but DS2 has been medicated for his, so different story ;)
We used ours for about 4 months, Only the first 2 in the pram as he was much happier being able to see what was going on. We used it if we went to friends houses for him to sleep in mainly. I probably wouldn't buy one if I had to do it all again. Not to mention all the room it took up. His pram took up my whole boot, and the bassinet took up the rest of my back seat! I'm in an area where you have to use the car to get anywhere (windy dirt roads/no footpaths). I can imagine if I were in a more suburban area and could go on more walks from home it would have been used a lot more.
We used ours for at least six months...also have a convertible one...the peg perego skate 2009 model..the new model has the bassinette and seat as separate attahcments which suck in my opinion...we loved being able to pop it into bassinette mode if he fell asleep in those days when he was transitioning from lying down to sitting up...
DD slept in it for first 4-6 weeks downstairs during the day but hated going out for walks in it. She now prefers the sit up seat to look around. Ours is a Strider 4 but was given to us luckily.
Our pram is the Baby Jogger City Elite and we used our bassinet until DD was 9 weeks. She didn't enjoy it as much as I thought she would and she was SO much happier when we put her in the normal seat in the pram. She had silent reflux though and was a very alert and inquisitive baby so lying down while out and about wasn't for her. We used it a bit though when we went out for in the evening instead of a portacot so it was worth the $$.
I'll be buying a stand for it for our next baby and will use it as our bassinet full time (we borrowed our last one). If I had my time over though, I would have bought the SnS capsule (which also attaches to our pram) and used that instead of a bassinet.
I use mine all the time but not just in the pram. i usedit for sleep time during the day and move baby around to whichever room i am in. If I am outside baby sleeps in it in the pram under the trees.
DD hated her's!!! She would cry every time I took her for a walk in it!! So nope we didn't use ours for long!!! I wouldn't bother ever buying another one but thats just me.
We have a bugaboo cam and DD is 6 months old and I have just stopped using the bassinet. It is awesome, we used it on the pram and around the house - soooo easy.
We used ours until DS was about 3 months old, but because he was born in March and it was still pretty warm, he used to get cooked in there :shakehead: as it was pretty deep and not much breeze went through it. The main reason I bought it was because my pram (Baby Jogger City Elite) was not suitable for a newborn (I read a review on the pram before I bought it) and I wanted bub to face me for a while. I didn't use it for going out much as DS was a big baby so he started to feel cramped up in there pretty quickly.
A friend of mine has just moved her DD out of her Bertini (I think) into a cot and she's about 7 months. She liked the bassinet because she had an April baby and it was getting cool. She used it for everything and being a pram could have the "bed" anywhere in the house she was.
