Names we had picked out for a girl are now becoming too popular for my liking.
So - Please give me your best Greek Girl names :)
I dont want anything too popular though something different yet pretty :)

a few i got from typing 'greek girls names' into google - i like Helena, you can still use your mum's name, just in a different form xo
shagger, i had spaced the names and meanings, and they didn't follow through when it posted :(
Panayiota
Effie
Thanks Everyone!
We were on the baby name sites looking at Greek names, but you know sometimes a name sounds nicer if you hear it from someone else ... iykwim?
We did like Sofia, but is too popular now :(
I LOVE Marika, it's so cute and sweet. I also love Xanthe (we called our daughter Xanthe, pronounced Zan thee) and it is greek for golden.
xoxo
M
my nieces all have greek names- they are sofia, anastasia, ophelia and xena
all very pretty names
My girls are Maria and Sofia, other greek names in my circle of friends are Zoe, Amelie, Ava, Stella and Eleanna. I know how you feel though there are so many Sofia's around now, not so much Maria though. I am really stuck if this baby is a girl as well.
I love Artemis - Art-uh-mis (more muss then miss, if that makes sense!)

anastasia - pronounced a-nas-ta-see-a rather than ann-a-stay-jee-a - although you probably know the pronunciation having DHs greek family.
Jaspen, Anastasia (a-nas-ta-see-a) was def on our list, but we would have to constantly tell people how to pronounce it correctly iykwim? Its def a gorgeous name though.
K2B - There is a girl (who is married) that was obsessed with DF until a few months back and her name is Maria, he doesnt like that name because of her LOL its terrible how a name can associate negative opinions Ya know? My Neice is Eva, DF's cousin's daughter is Ileana & Ekatarina (we LOVED Katerina)
I love Marika but DF was 'Oh hekk no, thats con the fruiter's wife, shes a big fat hairy wog" ... I like the name, but somehow I just dont think Im gonna win that battle LOL!
Artemis is nice sounds more manly though? Like a warrior type name ..
Its not fair when your name becomes popular :( makes it so difficult to choose.
I was going to suggest Katrina.
I just searched some greek girls names and came across Airlia which I really like. I also like Chiara, Tabatha and Alexa.
Chloe is nice too. I might be a little biased though lol.
Miss M - I know what you mean about having to tell people how to pronounce a name. I only new this pronunciation as mum taught a little greek girl with the name and now I call all Anastasia's with the greek pronunciation as first response - it stuck with me so easily :).
Others have some lovely suggestions - good luck,
Tinks, Airlia is a very pretty name
I'm gonna be biased and go with my BFF name " Haroula " !!
and Helena has been a long time fav of mine !
Thanks everyone :)
I love Androulla, we have a little Zoe :)
well, there's Pandora :)
Alexis
Ada
Adara (this is my favourite)
Spiridoula
Selene
Zoe
Vanessa
Zandrine
I know a few greek girls, yes, Eleni, but also Christina, and one i love Dina- pronounced deana but not sure if its short for anything
good luck!
Not sure if you picked one yet...
My daughter and I both have a little twist on our names..
English name - Greek Name
Engela - Evangelia
Ireni - Erene
If we had a girl this time we would have had, Panayiota or Raphaela
Choosing a name is so hard.
Nothing sits right with me for a girls name :(
I love Alina, and Helena
