Is Emmerson a girl or a boy's name?
We've actually had both a boy Emerson & a girl Emmerson on BB :)
Really? I've never come across it before.
A friend called their little girl Emmerson and she just turned 3.
I think the spelling you have is traditionally for a boy Emmerson - meaning 'son of' but I also know of a little girl whose spelling is Emmersen. I like the name for both boy and girl regardless of the spelling.
both! i love it for either too :)
We have a friend who's daughter is Emmison, nicknamed Emmi :)
I think it's a lovely name for either sex.
id say both id spell Emerson for a boy and u could do it Emmersyn or Emmasyn
Traditionally it's a boy name, but I have a niece named Emerson :D
I think of it more as a girls name. A girl I went to school with was called Emmersen, I too prefer it spelt Emmersyn for a girl.
I've heard it for both too. I think it's a gorgeous name for either gender.
My friend has a girl Emerson so because of that im more inclined to think girl but its really an either or.
I always liked it but where we used to live it was the name of a main street in town so that put me off. :shakehead:
Beautiful name, i immediately thought it a boys name but now i do think it siuts both.
My 4 year old daughter is Emmerson, she gets Emme as a nickname, her name suits her.
Ive always seen it as girly name, but my husband worked with an Emerson who was in his early 30s, so my husband see it a boys name.
I have known 2 boys and one girl names Emmerson
I personally prefer it as a boy's name, but it is definitely used for both boys and girls.
my baby girls name is Emerson, we struggled to choose a name for number 4 and after months of trying to find the 'perfect' name we came accross Emerson, which I had seen before as a friend had a little boy called Emerson but it just had never crossed my mind to use it for a girl, but when I read it out from a name site both myself and hubby just loved it, it just felt 'right' so we called her Emerson, and we just love it, its funny though as Medicare and the doctors office both assumed Emerson was a boy so had to fix that up asap, so I think traditionally it is a boys name but I just love it for both genders!!
I have only seen/heard it used as a girls name, its lovely either way though
I love Emmerson, but probably prefer it for a girl, more than a boy.
We had it picked as our girls name ( Emmerson Mia ) if DS had of been a girl, and it has rated highly in our Girls Names List again this time too.
I love the idea of it being shortened to Emme .
I think it could be either, but, at first glance, I think GIRL :)
Forgot to say earlier in my post that we call my niece Mem :D
I'd go boy I think
