I wouldn't.
Hmmm. Not sure I would, either!
Mind you, in our family it's me who puts the brakes on names - most recently trying to dissuade M from "Tripitaka".
Yes, as in Monkey Magic.
I love it!
That wouldn't get past the Birth Cert peeps would it? lol
You are a trippa woman!
 at Tripitaka
I love a good sounding name as anyone who knows what our surname is regarding our DD2s name
No, don't do it.
Hehe I think I would draw the line at that one too ;)
i like it!
lol definately not for me :)
I agree with your DH, it might be cute on a little kid, but as a teenager and adult I don't know if she'll thank you for it.
um ... quite frankly, no its a silly idea. She'd go through life as a joke, do you really want that for her?
that's up there with something I heard a little while ago. A couple used the first three letters of their fathers first names for their sons middle name ... HARry and DONald ......this was not a joke and it never occured to them how it sounded. Poor kid!!
So the kids middle name is Hardon? Oh dear!
i like the name holly but not toledo.
i actually think it sounds really nice, it definitely flows really well together....but, can i ask, is there a connection or a reason for using Toledo? As in, have you been there before, or it means something special? otherwise....why use it? i dunno, only coz we live in Australia, i don't get how people use American places as names, like Dakota or Savannah or Montana or something....i think it's a bit weird, but maybe it's just me? :dunno:
 at Hardon.....oh my gosh, that's just insane! it's like the classic Richard Cranium or Mike Hunt or something....
I like Holly, but if I were to see that name, I would probably automatically say Holy instead itms, like I did when I opened this thread.
Ah, no.
MD it's a saying batman uses.
Maybe call her Holly and use the Toledo as a nickname, not her official name.
I read this while watching Batman & Robin on telly
I wouldn't, but she'd only really get Holly *surmane* wouldn't she? Not like middle names come into every day life.
But then, if you're like me, & yell first & middle names when really pee'd off...
Think about it, you'd have the neighbours
ETA - I love Savannah, Montanna & Dakota as names. I don't think the fact that there are American places with those names has anything to do with what you name your baby, unless it was 'Australia', or something more unusual (Ularu?).
It's probably copyrighted...
Nope. It is terrible. It's like giving your child a joke name! A girl I went to school with recently had twins and gave them both danger as a middle name. You have to remember this is a little person. Not a tv show. If you like it,maybe call the dog that.
The difference being that Danger is actually a surname, so you could pass it off as a family name.
Nope I would not use it.
Holly is a gorgeous name but not Toledo.
Certainly not something i would use.
Holly is gorgeous but I find the Toledo a little tacky....sorry
I love Holly but dont know about toledo holly beautiful though
 its awesome :)
sorry i am not a fan!
and poor hardon :o
i can't tell if you're serious or not...
but if you are serious, i think it's a bad idea.
Thats exactly what I thought when I read that!
But yeah back on topic...Honestly? I think it would be really cruel. Holly is lovely, (it reminds me of christmas :) ) but definitely scrap the Toledo. Remember kids are tactless and mean whether they intend to be or not, and batman is a show that has bridged the generation gap so they are possibly going to know the phrase. I got teased massively at school simply because my name rhymed with goanna, and it made my life hell until the end of primary school. And to think my mother didn't want to call me Charlotte because it rhymed with harlot...because kids know what a harlot is mum *rolls eyes*. Anyway my point is the same as Lilima said, this is a person, not the family pet or a sitcom character. Maybe you could get her a puppy or kitten when she's older and call it Toledo and they can have adventures and when they get in trouble you can yell "Holly, Toledo! What have you done now!" lol
...i dont see anything wrong with any of those names...even Hardon (i dont understand why it is so terrible? I actually think its really clever.)
(..im sure my kiddies are going to hate me with what i name them =P )
EDIT: pmsl..ok...now i get it...ha! hehe
I think its mean TBH.
I knew a girl years ago called Ronita- her dad was Ron and her mum Anita, DH and I used to make up terrible joke combinations of our names and threaten to name our children that LOL
Our last names together, with rhyming slang make us "smelly farts"...so we decided against double barrel names for our kids! LOL
I went to school with a Wayne King and a Randy Johnson....
Love Holly, but ditch Toledo
I agree with Yeddi - when she becomes a teenager and adult it just wont be funny or cute anymore. Imagine when she applies for a job? Frankly I'd look at the job application and worry that she came from a family of weirdos :o
But yeah, Love Holly, its a pretty sweet name
Who applies for a job using their middle names?? I have never included my middle name on a CV.
Mine and DFs last names combined makes rat and we use to live with another couple whose last names combined was mouse :) totally irrelvant but I thought id share lol
