Chippie sandwiches!

I just introduced my DS almost 3 to the wonderful world of chippie sandwiches for lunch.
He smashed them and loved putting the chips on himself and then "put the lid on aye Mummy?" :D
So cute but it got me thinking what do you give your kids in sandwiches that you used to love but some may think it strange?
We have peanut butter and honey (my favourite)
just tomato sauce (DH loves this)
drippy cheese -cheese and vegemite melted in the microwave
crunchy noodles and bbq sauce (my oldest DS loves this and it makes me gag :sick:)

What strange combos do your kids love?

I used to have burger ring sandwiches and chicken chip sandwiches.

My ex-bf likes peanut butter and cheese...

I used to eat peanut butter with salt & vinegar chips.
My brother eats peanut butter with honey or jam.
I like vegemite cheese & alfalfa sprouts.

eewwww really Astro burger rings??? Sounds gross but I spose dont knock it till you try it

DH will eat anything and some of them seriously would make you sick. The other morning on toast he had luncheon, mustard, corn relish and tomato sauce! bbbaarrfffff

Ohmygosh! I haven't had a chip sandwich is ages and I haven't even given my children one yet. I'd completely forgetten about it.
Chicken chips are the best for chip sandwiches. :P

I like peanut butter and honey too ( sometimes golden syrup if there is no honey. )
I got my eldest onto cheese and spanish onion with pepper sandwiches. (It'snot that weird but it's something I showed him that he loves now too)

I think they are called a chip butti in the UK, they use hot chips :)

My DS1 used to love jam and vegemite sandwhiches.
He now likes salami and grated carrott.
My DS2 is pretty much vegemite all the way, sometimes has an apricot jam sandwhich.

OMG, *drool* hot chip sandwiches.....and normal chip sandwiches....yummmeee!

We have the jam/honey and peanut butter here too, yummy! DD loves it!
Vegemite and cheese
Cheese (plastic, fake cheese slices!), grated carrot and beetroot
Devon and tomato sauce (mmm, haven't had one of those in years!)

Hahah I had a craving for hot chip sandbos last night so that's what we had for dinner yuuuuum I actually feel like it again
I use to love polony/devon (depending on what state your from) with tomato sauce. Hmmmm *goes to the shops to buy ingredients*

Just letting you know, that after seeing this thread I'm making DP go to the shop and get hot chips for a sandwhich!!

My hubby still loves his salt n vinager chips with liverworst sangas.
We all love our hot chip and butter sangas.
My dad grew up in a welsh boarding school for boys, and he says there treat sangas were a sausage roll with butter on a sanga!! Never done that one my self, but i love left over mash potatoe with tomatoe sauce on my sanga!! mmm

My mum and loved Nice sliced cold ham with chicken favoured chip sandwiches.
I like devon and sauce, peanut butter and honey.
Dh likes peanut butter and cheese, and meat pie sandwiches

dh is the same 'hmm left over chinese, some spag bog and an avacado- i know ill make a sandwich!'

My youngest DD loves Cheese and Tomato Sauce - she would have it everyday if I let her :)

DS likes jam and honey. My fave was jam, cheese and crisps as a girl. Fishfinger sandwiches are good too.

Slow-cooked meatball in tomato sauce with rice sandwich is nice. MiL makes a mean Sunday Lunch Leftover sandwich, according to DH.

DS doesn't stop at chips in his sandwich. He likes chips, fish and peas in a sandwich with tomato ketchup.

We used to have pizza in a bun at school. Toasted bun with butter and then pizza. (obviously before all the health bans!)
Nomg it was good! Sometimes I recreate it at home but just with bread XD
