I did a breast check self exam last night and found sizeable lumps. (2-3) (probably a bit bigger than a pea) in one breast and little ones in the other.
I'm so scared. Dh felt them and said they are definitely there. My BBs have constantly hurt a bit more right before af. They never usually did.
Off to the doc?!?
I'm scared. :(

I too found lumps in my breasts a few years ago, it turned out that they just went lumpy from breastfeeding and was nothing to worry about.
Get them checked by a dr hun and try not to panic too much (I know, easier said than done)
My boobs are really lumpy normally, and when dr's have done exams they have always commented. How often do you do self exams? Are you due for AF?
I've just had af. They say to check them after af has been!
Maybe it's just hormones.
I doubt it's from breastdeeding. After I had zach (my little angel baby) they gave me tablets to dry my milk up. It never properly came in. So that was nearly 4 years ago.
I am hoping it's just hormones.... Maybe im doing the bse at the wrong time.

This is a scary time for you. I know how much waiting for some answers can be so hard.
About 5 years ago I was lying in bed and just happened to feel a lump when scratching my left breast. Oh boy did my heart skip a beat then. Just like yours would have. I went to my Dr, had a mammogram (ouch) and then an ultrasound. The results were inconclusive and due to the fact there was no pain associated with the lumps they sent me for a fine needle biopsy (ouch again). Thankfully about 5 days later I got good news. It was a fibroadanoma, non cancerous tumor. I had the choice of getting it removed or leaving it. Decided to leave it there because they can not become cancerous.
Good luck today at the Dr's. I hope that you get some answers soon.
I hope that you get good news from your doc about it - you must be terrified of that appointment.
I have never had any lumps but a get very sore boobs before and after af, I guess its from my hormones adjusting.
All I can suggest is that you keep breathing and take every minute as it comes - good luck!! I will be thinking of you!!

It is very scary!! I had to have an ultrasound on a lump in one of my boobs but it nothing to worry about.. The stress leading up to it made me really sick though!!!
Just take one step at a time. Try not to think too far ahead.. Remember you are strong and courageous!

About 5 years ago my dr found a tiny lump in one of my breasts (I got her to do a breast check for me) - I had to go and have an ultrasound to check it out.
I must say, the time between the find and the ultrasound results was the most nerve-wracking of my life. It was all I could think of.
Thank God, it/they (3 of them, as it turned out) were just tiny cysts that were absolutely nothing.

Melzi, you are absolutely doing the right thing going to the dr to get these lumps checked out - any breast changes need to be checked to rule out breast cancer. But try not to be too scared, the vast majority of lumps etc that are checked out turn out to be normal, non cancerous things like cysts. Your doctor should order a scan at the very least, hopefully the results will come back quickly as an ALL CLEAR.
Dr wants a biopsy. They don't look good :( scans are booked in also for tomorrow morning but biopsy will go ahead...
Cancer runs in my family.... And I've had skin cancer removed on my forehead 3 years ago.
I don't want to do this...

Praying it is nothing! I found a big lump on my boob when i was in year 10 and it was soo scary! I had an US and a biopsy (cancer runs in my family too!) and it wasnt anything serious (cant remember what they called it!!) so FX its the same for you!!

Mrs bexie did they do the biopsy first? They told me they are going to do the biopsy first? Then u/s wouldn't it be sensible doing it the other way.
I actually feel sick to my stomach. Stressing me out.

They did the US first then the biopsy with the US on still. Far out it hurt like hell though cause my lump was really painful! It went away after a few days if i can remember right..

That's probably what's happening then... Prob biopsy under ultrasound...would make sense that way.... Sounds painful.

Is your lump painul? Mine was about the size of a grape and really sore to touch, thats why my biopsy and US hurt so much..,:

I've been through this hun, and it isnt painful. not that that will put your mind at ease. But you wont feel anything and it doesnt hurt afterwards. Make sure you take someone with you though, its more emotionally challenging on the day.:

Big hugs hun...I had a lump in my right breast several years ago...oh the fear that runs through your mind....had to have US and biopsy done at same time. Results were it was just a cyst just on top of the breast tissue under the skin. They decided to just leave it as it wasn't painful. It took aaages to go away and even though it was cleared, I still worried!

Just saw this thread and big :hug: to you Melzi. Please don't feel like you don't get to be freaked by this because others have it worse - this is your journey and yep, a pretty scary one! I hope and pray that the biopsy brings good news. Xx
Melzi don't be fearful because the dr has asked for a biopsy - this is part of the recommended screening any time a woman turns up with a breast lump, and not an indication that yours is 'bad'. If they are doing a fine needle biopsy it shouldn't be too bad as it is a very thin needle and it only takes a few moments. :hug: I know how scary this is, so do whatever you need to to distract yourself while you are waiting for your results.

Now I thought I was stressing before. Nup... Stressing more. This is the sucky part I guess.

Sorry to hear it hurt. I hope that the results are in really quick for you. I have my fingers crossed that like my results, you have good news.
I hope it is nothing to worry about (doesn't help till you know the answer though). What you are feeling is totally normal.
When I was your age, I used to get them quite regularly, had to have tests done all the time, talked to DH about all the possibilities including the bad, cause I had to prepare for the worst. When they came back as nothing to worry about it was a bonus, however I would not have been able to cope if I didn't think about it, then they came back as bad. Hope that makes sense.
