I'm 6 and a half weeks pregnant.
I've just gone to the toilet and when I wiped myself, there was all blood. This is my 8th pregnancy and I've never spotted. I have lower back pain and I'm shaking uncontrollably. I am on my own with 4 little kids - DH is in Sydney, but on his way home. I haven't told him because knowing won't get him here any sooner.
I feel like I'm going to pass out. Am I miscarrying? What do I do?
All my symptoms stopped a week ago.
is there anyone you can call who can come and watch the kids if you go to the hospital to get checked out? im going to say try not to stress, but i know that's going to be hard to do. :hug: to you and lots and lots of :stickyvibesboy: fingers crossed it's nothing serious xxx
Babe try and relax, can you lie down and take some deep breaths... stressing will not help as you know. Bleeding can be normal and then again sometimes its not. Is it brown or red?

I am so sorry you are alone right now.
Honestly, I dont have a definitive answer for you but I can tell you I bled throughout the first trimester with my DD. It may not be anything bad at all.
Do you have cramping? Or is is just the lower back pain?
I think the best thing you can do is stay as calm as you can and rest.
Is there anyone you can call to be with you to tend to the kids?
If you are really worried I would go to the doctor or emergency room.

:hug: I'm so sorry you are going through this. There is no way to tell for certain if you are miscarrying without you speaking to a doctor. If the blood is brown then this is generally indicative of old blood and not necessarily the loss of the pregnancy. Red blood is generally not a good sign.
I'm concerned that you are shaking though. Is this because you are upset, or do you feel ill and weak? Could you get another adult to sit in the house with you until your partner gets home? Please seek medical assistance if you feel dizzy, or feel you are losing large volumes of blood.

No cramping but a lot of pinky red blood like the start of a period. Strong nausea now, but I'm not sure if it's because of shock.
I can't call anyone because nobody really knows. Will it change anything if I can get to a doctor? Are they able to actually do something or will they just confirm whether I'm miscarrying or not?
I'm really sorry to dump this on you guys.
ETA: Traveller, I was feeling fine til I saw the blood, so I think it's just worry that's making me feel sick.

At this stage it is unlikely that a doctor could do anything except confirm if you are miscarrying and advise rest if you are not. Sometimes that reassurance will make you feel better though. How long until your husband gets home?
I dont think a doctor can change anything but he/she can give you peace of mind if everything's okay.
Someone like Traveller will know better than me but I think no cramping is a good sign??
Babe the dr can not do anything however, if you do start cramping or losing lots of blood you need to get to the hospy. If you are just getting blood when you wipe, put a pad on so you can moniter blood flow, and lie down. i hope its just some breakthrough bleeding for you xxx
Theres nothing they can do if you are miscarrying :hug: but they could give you an answer either way, some people bleed during the first trimester... if the bleeding isnt too heavy, try to relax, put on a pad and just sit down or lay down 9 hard with kids i know,maybe the older oones could look after the younger ones, make it a game or something. I would go to the ER department when your husband gets hoome, they will be able to give you an ultrasound either way where your gp will only refer you for a scan.....
I hope the bleeding stops... there are such thing as placenta bleeds and other things that can make you bleed but not affect the pregnancy.
Hope you have some answers soon... I wouldnt suggest going to the ER on a sunday unless you are in a major city... they didnt have an ultrasound machine on here on a sunday
and no cramping is a good sign :)
It's not an nice thing to deal with, I am another one who had a lot of bleeding with dd1, everytime af was due or if I did a lot of bending or lifting I would bleed. Hope you can rest, (hard with little ones I know).

I wrote a reply but pressed the wrong button and lost it. I called a friend, she was driving so I asked her to call me when she gets home. I might ask her to come when my children are asleep so I can go to the emergency room. They're going to be devastated if we lose the baby - it was silly of me to say anything to them before I reached 12 weeks.

Oh no, hope you and bub are ok. Bleeding in pregnancy is scary but can be common and not always miscarriage. Stay as positive as you can, its hard. Big big big HUG xxx
I really hope everythings ok. I had a threatened miscarriage at 11 weeks, i started bleeding quite heavy but after a week of rest everything was fine.

I decided not to get my friend to come (long story) and the bleeding had stopped by the time my husband got home so I waited until yesterday morning to go to the emergency room. When I woke up, I had some light brown spotting. The hospital took some bloods and admitted me to the short stay department to wait for an u/s at 3:30. Started getting some red blood and small clots. The HCG came back at around 360, so I knew it wasn't good. During the u/s the sonographer found a sac that measured about 5 weeks gestation and he said I could just be earlier than I thought I was. The doctor agreed it was a possibility, but he said it was his belief that the pregnancy had ended just over a week ago. I'm supposed to go and get a HCG test in a week, but I'm bleeding heavily this morning with a fair bit of pain so I'm sure it's over.
I haven't told the kids yet and I don't know how I'm going to.
