I'm actually ironing! The clothes are fitting so much better into my closet!!!
:o Kaz, are you ok? If i started ironing, my family would consider sending me to the drs for a check up!
WooHoo Kaz - that is one way to keep warm (my new ironing board cover is in the machine - can't wait to put it on the board & start ironing)
Uhoh. Kaz has gone all stepfords
I like to be as carbon neutral as possible so I reckon not ironing is a good way to start.......
I blame my mum - she's an obsessive ironer so I've gone in the opposite direction and am an obsessive non-ironer. It's not too late to get help Kaz... ;)
My children didn't know what an iron was until I recently had to iron a shirt for work... Poor things. Going around in un-ironed clothes... poor poor children.
I'd reccomend you stop that right away! I'm an non-ironer here. I only iron DHs work shirts and outfits for weddings or very special occaisons.
Another one here who's child had to point to a picture of an iron in a story book and ask what is was.
Even though I am a non ironer, I do dream of having a Laura Star set-up for when I am sewing.
Well we all (DS1, DH & I) survived without burns, although trying to explain to Pip the importance of not hitting the ironing board was difficult! On the bright side, I did watch Dancing with the Stars that I taped last night :) And my Jessica Steele aprons are now very crisp, they depressed me being so crumpled!!!!!!
Kateo -
Oh, it's OK, I'm not all stepford, it's only my clothing and the doona cover. I couldn't fit my clothes in the wardrobe, they kept falling out ...
I'm impressed! dh pretty much has no clothes in the robe as I have not ironed for over 3 weeks :o
...I do not iron. Love it Kaz!
My DH was ironing the other day, I asked him to leave the ironing board up. He looked at me quizzically, and said "you don't iron?", I said " No, I am not going to iron, I just don't want you rattling the ironing board so close to DD's bedroom, she has just gone to sleep" It took me a while to figure out how to put the thing down!
 I am an ironer  But i really only iron stuff as I'm going to wear it
Iron? thats a metal right?
I managed to convert a friend from being an ironer to a non-ironer! Took me a while but it was a proud moment when she told me she put all her washing away without ironing it!
I'm here if you need me to do the same for you x
What's an iron? And a closet? ;)
Nothing beats sliding between 1200 thread count sheets that have been freshly ironed :)
Sodpet - I hate to say it but - Ironing Sheets? There is only one word for you ..... Freak!!!! :D
I'm a non ironer also, I iron things just before I am going to wear them. I USED to iron every few weeks and get excited when I saw the bottom of the ironing basket, haven't seen the bottom of it for a loooooooooooong time. In fact the other day we were in the laundry and DH said to me "We really should do something about that" and pointed to the ironing basket. I think by 'we' he meant 'me'! Crazy man!! He must have had a moment of insanity as it hasn't been empty since DS was born...
.....Although every now and then I have a "Oh, I forgot I had this" awesome clothes find moment when I rummage through it :)
I used to work with a lady that ironed everything, right down to her teatowels!
Speaking of funny ironing stories - a girl that used to work with me once told me that her mother called the crease that people iron into trousers a C>U>N>T
Seriously!! Was the funniest thing ever!! She said that whenever her Mum ironed trousers she would fall about laughing
Now whenever I see a nice crisp trouser crease I am tempted to tell someone what a neat C**T they have
lol a C.U.N.T?? wtf hahah thats hilarious!!
my mum used to iron everything, im talkin down to undies and socks.
shes stopped ironing them now, but still does teatowels & hankies..
i iron only some work pants & my quilt cover thats all :D if we r going somewhere nice i iron our clothes, but ours never looked creased anyway! if you hang them out the right way they r fine!
