Lior?
Hmmm, I think I love that!
Do you know anyone musical? BIL wrote a song for us and played it and my sister sang - BIL is in a band but my sister is just a good singer - it was the most beautiful thing... And so personal.
It was called 'Forever Eternally'

I had never heard of Lior before, and googled them and love 'This old love', a very different wedding song!
A beautiful sound though huh!
I'm walking down the aisle to 'couldn't ask for more' by Sara Evans
.
Absolutely beautiful song with her singing how he is everything to her and she couldn't ask for more.

i like 1234 - Plain white t's
not too "different" i guess but i think its nice
I walked down the aisle to the instrumental version of "Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve...it was awesome, very dramatic and ensured I had a grand entrance!
We had Runaway by the Corrs :)
I walked down the aisle to "gorecki" by Lamb. youtube it. its a beautiful and different love song, esp. the first lyric doesnt make you think love song.
We walked down the aisle to "Eye of the tiger"
Congrats on your upcoming wedding Kimmi!
I always wanted Let's Stick Together by Bryan Ferry so I could dance a little. We had a Elvis Vegas wedding though, so got Love me Tender instead :)
Elliott Smith songs are beautiful and melodic. Or David Bowie?
m2one - awesome:p
A friend of my Aunts walked down to Van Morrisons - Moonwalk
Congratulations!
I had Ode to Joy - Beethoven's 9th Symphony. People said it was kind of different, but it just worked for me.
I had Ode to Joy walking up the aisle (the one on the way out) and Handel's Arrival of the Queen of Sheba for walking down the aisle. (Wanting everyone to know how important I was much?)
Don't have Pachabel's Canon. It's the most popular processional! I couldn't help myself and had it anyway- it's so insanely beautiful.
I'm using hourglass by Liquid Tension Experiment.
I love it.
I walked down the aisle to U2's version of Unchained Melody and we walked back up the aisle after the ceremony to U2's Everlasting Love ( do you think I could a little obsessed with U2...).
I'm trying to remember what song my friend walked up the isle to...she likes things a little different....I know she had Love is Only a Feeling by The Darkness somewhere in the wedding, and Just Like Heaven - The Cures version, and I know she loves the Verves.
Can you pick one from you favourite band or another song that you's both love (gotta keep one for the dance if you's plan on having your wedding dance too).
Good luck...I'm sure you'lll find one that suits...you'll just know it when you hear it (hopefully).
I walked down the aisle to the Forrest Gump Suite (themesong - its instrumental)
my sister walked down the aisle to "Mysterious Ways" by U2 (I think thats what its called!)
I rekon "Halo" by Beyonce would be a good one!
Aaron Neville. crazy love. dh chose it!
and queen, my best friend
i don't know if you want songs with lyrics or instrumental? but i walked down the aisle to "Wallce courts Murron" from the Braveheart soundtrack. heaps of people were in tears, it was beautiful. but we have Scottish heritage in our family, so it was well suited ;)
one of SIL's walked down the aisle to 'At last' and another SIL walked down the aisle to an instrumental song from American Beauty called 'A Rose' which i edited to make it longer cause it only went for 1 minute....but it was really pretty.
congrats on your upcoming wedding xxx
Congrats on your upcoming wedding!
I haven't yet but I think Unwritten Law's Rest of my Life would be perfect for us, it is a band we both loved as teens and sparked one of our first 'kindred spirit' conversations. Plus is it just a great song! Is there a band you both really love? Or can you think of something special/unique/different in your relationship and try to find lyrics based around that? Maybe some sort of in-joke or something that a song represents? I think the music that works best is something that is meaninful to you both! Good luck, I'm sure you'll find something perfect
Also, I'm planning to keep the song a secret from him so it is a surprise when I walk down the aisle. I know he will love it. Is there a band maybe your other half loves or a song that you could surprise him with?
I had Pachabel's Canon too and we had people in tears. I'd never heard it at a wedding before. I don't think it matters how popular it is though, if it matters to you, then that's all that matters. We walked out to Truly Madly Deeply, we knew that was popular, but it means something to us. Good luck deciding!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding Kimmi.
I walked down the aisle to Doubled up in love by Heather Nova. Still love this song.
I'm so loving all of the ideas! It's hard to narrow my ideas down.... I am getting married in a church, so the one I wanted by Angus and Julia Stone is out because it frequently mentions making a baby on the beach haha
I walked down the isle to one of the theme songs from love actually and back up the aisle to "all you need is love" by the Beatles :)
Down aisle to Danish wedding march and back up to Vivaldi's Spring from 4 seasons.
Good luck
Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!
We walked down the stairs (aisle) to the Avalanches, frontier psychiatrist...
Okay it was a little weird, but Dh, dd1 and I all walked down the stairs (aisle) together. The song on the other hand was really big when we got together and everytime we hear it we think of the good times, and how we got here :D
btw, our friends who knew the history of the song cried with laughter, our parents on the other hand, were very confused!!
Anyhow, goodluck in finding the right song for you and your wedding!
Like some of the PPs we had Pachabel's Canon in D. Was a long time favourite of mine so was a given - our musician was a harpist in a garden wedding setting. I always did and always will love it regardless of how many people walk down the aisle to it.
What type of musicians are you having if you really like the song by Angus and Julia Stone is it the lyrics or the music that you like as if its the music could you do an instrumental version so the making a baby on the beach lyric wont matter - lol!
I guess with a church wedding there can be some more rules you need to abide by. Its a shame in some ways as it means you can't always pick the music that is special to you as a couple.
Enjoy either way it is SUCH a special day x
