So.... just pondering..... i thought most women went into labour spontaneously during the evening. I keep going to bed expecting tonight to be 'the' night. Maybe because my last labour started at 1am, or maybe because i heard that most start at night.... So just wondering if it is an old wives tale or not?
If you went into labour naturally what time of day did it all start?
Both of mine I had my show in the morning (10am and 8am) then prelabour started straight away. Established labour started early afternoon.
My midwife reckons most labours start in the middle of the night because that’s when people are most relaxed. :D
DS1 – 12:30am
DD – 5am
DS2 – 1:30am
Similar to meow; contractions kicked off slowly around 8am and was in established labour by lunchtime, DD born just after 6pm.
DS1 - waters broke spontaneously about 7.30pm - born early the next morning.
DS2 - woke up as normal about 6.30am. First noticed mild cramping about 7am and labour went from here (born 2pm).
5am for both.
My midwife also told me the same thing about being relaxed at night :)
DD1 waters broke at 8:31pm, contractions started within 30mins but active labor didn't start till 6am.
DD2 waters broke at 8am, contractions started within 30mins & she was born 2hrs later.
After a S&S at 2pm I noticed mild cramping at 8:30pm, went to hospital at 3am and DS born at 9:30 am.

Cheshire- i heard today was a good day to have a baby. ;)
DD1 ~ waters broke just before 8pm, ctx started 45min late, got to hospital about 9:30pm, internal 10pm 7-8cm, she was born just over 1/2hr later 10:37pm :)
DD2 ~ not worth going through ;)

DD1 waters broke around 4am.
DD2 noticed first contraction around 4am.
So same time for me for both girls.
DS - afternoon
DD1 - early evening
DD2 - early hours of the morning
DS2&3 - show in the morning established labour around midnight
I've heard it's more likely to happen in the middle of the night because your oxytocin levels peak in the early hours of the morning?
With both boys labour started at 4am, with DD I had a "real" contraction at 8pm, but it didn't really start until about 9:30pm, she was so different! My sister had a bub on Saturday and her contractions started in the late afternoon, so there you go :p
Not long to go now JM!!!

Both were 4am for me.
Today is when all the coolest people are born :p
DS1 - waters broke at 5am. Born about 3 days later
DS2 - waters broke at 5am. Dragged out the sun roof about 12 hours later.
Water broke at 6:24am and had DD in my arms before our Midwife finished her shift :)

Mine were both overnight too - DD ctx started slowly at 10pm... DS, first ctx 3.30am.
I heard it's when your oxytocin is highest too...

Isn't it the full moon tonight? I have heard more woman go into labour on the full moon. Go sit outside in the moonlight for a bit :)
PZ and i are having a full moon party tonight. All welcome. Outside, wherever you are, mostly nude after 9pm if you're keen. :p
Yep. I'm gonna howl at the moon, swaying and rocking my hips :rofl: Possibly whilst eating a hot curry, stimulating my nipples and dtd :think:
Around 6am I started having contractions about 10 minutes apart but didn't really click that I was in labour until my waters broke at 7.20am then I knew :D
Oooh, full moon. I have heard that more women go into labour with a full moon too. I've got two friends who are ED nurses and they've said it's always crazy on a full moon for all kinds of incidents

I went to bed at 10.30pm, had my first contraction about half an hour later (before I even managed to fall asleep). 36 hours later DD was born.
Contractions started 7pm on the dot :D

DD- waters broke at 7:30pm. She was born just after midnight.
DS- first contractions at around 11am. He was born at 4:23pm.
About 6-7 pm, early irregular pains
After tell my cousin on MSN that nothing was happening earlier in the evening.
I was woken up by my contractions at around 4.30-5am i think? "established labour" didn't start til around 4.30pm though. Thats when the midwife checked me and I was 3cm. Then DD was born at 7.20pm that evening :)
#2 labour started early evening about 6pm.
#3 labour started 4am.
I noticed my waters leaking at about 2pm, but thinking back I think it was going on from about 9 that morning ever so slightly. Contractions started 9.30pm, DS born 7.58am :)
around 10.30pm with DS, and around 9.30am with DD.. Hope tonight is "the night"... can't wait for the good news.
Apparently thunderstorms and the change in barometric pressure causes heaps of ladies to go into labour.. my mum always says thee labour wards are full after them. There were huge thunderstorms the day before DS was born, and they were so full I was in the spare room normally used as a waiting room outside.
So you just need to go storm chasing!
Sounds like a sensible way to spend the last days of your pregnancy to me....:
Just packing a bag to go storm chasing (down a bump road) in the nude, after my solo full moon party...... better go stir the curry....
If you are going naked why do you need to pack a bag :P

lol me too! but i've still got 1 week til due date arggghhhhhhghgh one of us has to go soon!:
Bag has my treats and TENS machine in it. Oh and a mobile phone.
Side note- I miss Dach, that was the best user name ever..... once i finally got it! :p

JM, have you cleaned under the fridge? :D That and cleaning the bugs out of the light fittings did it for me. :lol:
