just thought i would add im not being impatient just worried that i might have made a mistake when i lodged it!
I wouldn't be worried yet. Ours took a while last year. We usually had it back in 10 days for all the previous years of using e-tax and last year took spot on the 14 days. I was starting to freak too lol. We just submitted this years on Friday, so hopefully it's back in time for Andrew's birthday.
we've only just got all our group certs!
Last year (or maybe the year before...) we didn't get ours back til October.
No you shouldn't be worried.
The ATO only start their full processing of tax returns from the 6th July this year, even though they accept them earlier. That's still a full week earlier than previous years. Last year we had clients who didn't hear anything back for a couple of months! Because they put a "new improved system" in and well, we all felt the result. But the ATO have sent all tax agents out a statement saying they believe they will process 94% within 14 days though to add possible time for people who need to be cross-referenced ie-with child support of the family tax office.
In other words, if you get anything back before the 20th July you would be very lucky. Give it to the end of the month before you chase it.
I did our etax on Friday just gone. I just checked family allowance website for somethign else and saw that our supplements all go in this Thursday !!! That is less than a week.
i just went to beak at online services as i had never bothered to check where the information displayed before (usually if people call through, we tell them if info is in, so i just hadn't checked) - just had a look at ours - i submitted our returns around half 4 YESTERDAY using etax, and the information is showing on FAO already! WOW!! huuuuuuuuuuuge improvement on the average turnarounds last year. now to wait for supplement info to generate - will have to check tomorrow but chances are it will go off to ATO to see if i owe them money before it shows on online services (you have no idea how frustrating it is to know how simple the info to find is at work and not be permitted to check - i have to call like everyone else lol)
seenow i am really worried though. mine is still not even showing on centrelink online services. I hope i havent messed this up!
I submitted on 3rd July and haven't had anything from the ATO and mine isn't on the online centrelink yet either - took 4 months last year, hopefully it won't be another long delay.
Sill question time, where does it show if fao have received your information?
a lot of it will depend on how complex your assessment is - ours were super simple!
also depends on when they went through processing - if it was before the channels between fao and ato opened, ato may have processed but it won't show on fao for a while
Just wondered ax I sent through DPs return via etax same time as you and notified centerlink today that I won't be lodging, but nothing yet. I'll check again in a few days.
Thanks found it. It's there. I'm a bit screwed though cause I have under estimated duh!
oops!
Yeah by just under 10000. Bugger. That'll teach me
So, I have done both mine and my husbands tax via etax and just checked the centrelink site and it is showing my income for 2010/11 but not my husbands as yet. Does that mean that I should get my refund in the next couple of days?
mummyo4. You'll get it when c/ling/fao confirm back to the tax office that they are ok to pay your refund. It varies so much. Could be only a couple of days. Could be weeks. This is the government we're talking about ;)
I'm still waiting for my first group cert! I've got 2 coming and really could do with the money (gotta get #2's room started - soon anways!) and then next year I'll be doing mine as a contractor
just thought i would let you know that i got my supplement money through, will be in my bank tomorrow apparently. you dont need to stress anymore LOL
Had a phone call from the ATO at lunchtime confirming some details and this afternoon my income is on centrelink with my supplements / top ups for underestimated income being paid in on Monday :)
Hopefully won't be too long before I get my tax refund.
My tax is finished and sitting here waiting for DH to pull his finger out and do his - so frustrating!!! Money just waiting to help us out and I can't lodge it - AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Looks like I'll have to start nagging!!
Great to hear that claims are being processed for quickly this year. That is a bit of a relief.
I spoke to centrelink and they replied to the tax office on the 8th July, and still no refunds!!!!!! It's now 18th :-(:shakehead:
Ring the ATO if you're worried, you'll have to wait on hold, but if you are really urgent on the money ask them what is happenning and if it just cued tell them you would like to request an 'escalation'. If nothing else, they should be able to tell you when you are due to have your money put into your account or sent as a cheque or what is holding it up. Have your TFN on you.
We did DH's just before christmas last year (were waiting on a summery that never came) & they paid it spot on 14 days later... Christmas day!
It's normal to take up to 21 days :)
this is totally NORMAL!
if you lodge a tax return and you are due an FTB payment (or are simply FTB current on the system) your result (either credit or debit) will be sent to the opposite department to see if they need to take any of the money. there is no point giving you a tax refund if you have been over paid family tax benefit, and vice verse
if the information is being transferred between the two, the process is still deemed to be NORMAL until it has been stuck there for 28 days
Did our tax just a bit under 2weeks ago and got our supplements in my account today! Was a very nice top up. No CCB or quarterly CCR but I pressume that might come later. Havent received tax returns yet but probably by the end of the week.
ccb/ccr reconciliation doesn't start for anyone until next week
My partner put his tax (business) in via an accountant on the 5th July. I did online non lodgement on the same night. My income was showing by the 7th. We got my partners tax refund on the 18th. His info hasnt shown up on centrelink site yet and I am starting to panic that something is wrong. I rang up a couple times.. got such conflicting info and now am angry at myself for ringing as its just upset me and stressed me out more... Got told on the 18th i should expect the supps by end of the week...but obviously thats not the case... Has anyone else had this happen and it been a happy ending? I am sorry if i seem impatient.. im a stress head by nature ...
if your partners details aren't showing on FAO online services yet, there is no way for FAO to reconcile anything and pay your supplements
it is normal to take several weeks. so far this year it has been quicker than this, but it is not out of the ordinary for it to take several weeks.
if you have your partners notice of assessment (not just the return in the bank, the actual letter from the tax office) AND it's been 3 weeks since the date of issue on it, ring FAO and they can try and force it through within about 10 days - before that, there isn't much that can be done as the ATO needs several weeks to issue the information across in some circumstances
Yes we have the NOA also so i will sit tight a couple of weeks and I will try my hardest not to stress...Thanks for the reply...
sincerely Stress Head :)
Sorry I know this has been asked but can't find it anywhere or I'm just having a boys look, LOL!!
Are our quarterly childcare rebates being paid as normal or are they being held until our tax and family assistance is reconcilled?
What timeframes are people currently experiencing for tax refunds? Not expecting ours any time soon as we only just lodged but just curious what waiting times currently are?
Thanks.
