Is it weird that...

...I would like another girl?

Everyone tells me 'oh, I hope you get a boy next time!' Umm...actually I'd like another little girl :redface:. I have the perfect name picked out!!
We are totally hopeless with boys names! With both our girls (and the other name we have) we have thought 'yep, that's it, that's the perfect name for them'. Can't find a boys one that I love. Bugger. Bet I have a boy next now with no name!

Am I strange for wanting another girl when I have 2 already! Seems most people in the same situation want the other gender next time. But I can't get enough of little girls, they are soooo sweet! I blame my parents, they gave me 4 brothers and I've had enough of boys!! LOL.

Anyway, just my ramblings, lol, sorry you wasted your time reading that now?

I don't think it's weird! I would be very happy not to have a boy...we'd like 3 children and I'm actually really worried that #2 will be a boy, because then #3 could be a boy and then we'd have two boys, ahhhh! If #2 is a girl then I can relax, LOL!! I love having a girl, all the clothes are so sweet, and I feel a very strong bond with my daughter. DH would like at least two girls as well. I can't really describe it very well...but I definitely don't think you're weird for feeling that way :)

Umm, no I don't think you are strange! I have many day dreams about when we have our next which sex would be better in our family dynamics, names etc.... I know when we fall pg again, people will assume we want a boy b/c we have already have a girl - assume away.

Not weird :). I know plenty of other mums who seem quite content to keep having the same gender.

I love having both - but TBH if I had had a girl first I probably would have been happy to only have girls iykwim? I'm kind of glad I had a boy first cause I was always a bit worried about how I'd go with a boy, but it turns out little boys are pretty awesome too :).

I don't think it's weird at all but although in a similar circumstance (only brothers - 6 to be exact) i was actually hoping to have a boy but as DD2 is our last 2 girls it is :p lucky they are tomboys :rofl:

Me too! We have just decided that we will have a 3rd one day and whenever I say this to people first thing they say is 'to have a boy?' Well no, just want another baby and I know girls so another would be just perfect for me. After finding out the sex both times with DD's we also decided that the next one will be a surprise. I think I could handle people asking 'bet you hope it is a boy' more then 'bet you wish you were having a boy' (as if I would be dissapointed) if we did find out it what we were having and it was a girl. ITMS

If you think its weird, then I am weird! hehe cause I am so verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry happy that this one I am carrying is also another girl!

Although, ask me again when the teenage years hit and I might have a different view!

TBH, I kinda wanted another boy, and now we're going to have one of each, I know that I won't be able to budge DH on #3 because we'll have one of each.

From my experience of 3 little girls (5yrs, 3.5 yrs, 1.5 yrs), i love the fact they play in the same way together and are so close - at the moment!! Ask me again in 10 years!!!

Not weird. I thought I was having another girl after DD but turns out it was a boy - but man these lil guys steal your heart in a totally differnt way! I wouldnt change my pigeon pair for the world... just as you would not chnage your 2 girls for the world either! :)

Definitely not weird! Before I found out this one was another girl, I kept changing my mind about girl or boy, boy or girl... they both seemed like really good options; both had certain pros and both had their cons (still a bit nervous about 2 teenage girls in the house haha) but I'm pretty stoked to be having 2 little girls.

I actually sometimes think it is a little odd that the ideal family is one of each, who decided that? It seems more about the parents being able to experience both than being of any huge benefit to the children, I think all child combinations have good and less than good aspects. It is just me and my brother and while it is a really great relationship and there were definitely bonuses to having a brother, it wasn't all magical haha and I look at my best friend and her sister and see the same; lots of things I was jealous of but different sibling issues to contend with that I was glad I just saw from the sidelines ;)

I don't think it's weird at all! We'll just be having the two kids and I was hoping this one would be another boy actually. Mostly because I have so many nice boy clothes already and I have all the boy toys :D And seeing there is only a couple of years difference between them I think they'll be great mates!

I will admit since finding out we are having another boy I've had the odd pangs about never having a daughter, but I love my little guy and I'm certain another is going to be awesome!

Its not that I dont want a boy, its just I would like another girl.

I think 3 girls is brilliant :) lucky ducky you! People suck, we keep getting " so WHEN are you having a BOY?" and when we explain we aren't really sure about having another it is like the biggest crime in the world "but you just HAVE to have a boy!!" Oops, my mistake.

Your girls are beautiful and you are radiating happiness, people must be blind not to see how wonderful things are!

Well I got my second girl, and is be thrilled with a third.

It's funny that how many kids you have seems to be determined by what sex you have. Heaven you have three, and get told you need a fourth to have a boy. I only have two but they're a girl and a boy, so I'm getting the "how lucky now you can stop at two" comments. Because I'd obviously have been totally disappointed and unlucky to have another girl and *have* to have another baby, and obviously I would have to make it be a boy. So silly.

DH and I would have loved another girl. I see the relationship sisters have and what I wanted growing up and I wanted that for DD. We had the perfect name, all the clothes and gear. But we are so happy with our little boy too, he's an absolute gem. I love that DD has a younger brother, just like I did. I'm one of those honestly don't care either way with the sex people, but not many around me are lol.

Also, I had a little giggle at OPs "what if I have two boys?!" comment lol.

I'm done having babies, but when we were contemplating a third, I would have loved a third boy, definitely more so than having a girl!

I'm always getting the "oh so are you going to try for a girl" comments, annoys me no end!

We get the "so now you'll have a 4th so you can have a girl" statements too. My reply is to tell them u had my tubes tied:-D. I would have loved a little girl but I'm do happy with my three beautiful boys. And I have a gorgeous little niece to spoil :-D

I was thrilled to have another boy - very happy with my 2 boys! Now people are just assuming we'll be trying again for a girl... No, I'm done.
While I was pregnant we said we wouldn't be having another, and my FIL said 'but what if this one's a boy?' Ah didn't realise you HAVE to have a girl and can't stop till you do?!

There are so many benefits to having kids that are the same sex - each to their own I say!

Yeah, you're odd. Cos my preference is for boys. So you are different to me and must be villified and mocked.

Fwiw, I wanted Liebs to be a boy, DH would have preferred a girl. We don't mind for Stormy, but boy would be simpler. #3 can then be a girl (still up for discussion). I will stop at 1 girl cos having a sister was no fun growing up for me or my girlfriends with sisters.

I love my boys. If we'd had another girl - faaaar out, that would be crazy. One DD is enough!!! :)

Guess God did help us with his name. It is a special name - my grandfather's name :)

I want another girl too. Just have to get DH on board....

(That's this week. Next week I might be back to just wanting two!)

Haha Heaven, same with us. But most ppl presume three is enough (I must be insane but I'm already thinking maybe we could fit in a fourth in a few years... I would be totally delighted with a fourth daughter!)

I'm kinda surprised I haven't had any comments yet about not having any boys. I remember them when I was a child (also one of three girls).

Besides, my girls are all so cute - which one should I want to swap for a boy?

Heaven we are expecting our second baby and second girl and both DH and I were secretly hoping we would have two little girls. I feel so honoured at the prospect of raising two girls - strong, sensitive, smart little girls that can show the world the value of womenfolk ;)
