Poor Scruffy

He's really not well, he's hardly eaten anything yesterday and today, he's so lethargic and I'm just worried about him Weird, it's like worrying about your sick child.

Ohh hun I hope he is ok.

Maybe ring up a vet and have a chat with them on phone, I don't if an emerg vet near you but you could cal the one emerg vet hospital at essendon airport and ask them.

Is he drinking?
I'd take him to the vet. Maybe check his coat for ticks

DS13 was out with him most of the afternoon, he ate some dry food and drank water which was a relief to hear. I'll ring our vet in the morning, he's really good and see what he says.

Poor Scruffy, hope he's okay.

Aww, poor thing. Hope he feels better soon! I hate it when pets get sick. My kitten, Titan, got attacked recently and I was really upset and worried.

Poor boy is much worse than we thought, the vet is keeping him overnight on a drip but he said he's not good.

My friend just had a similar problem. Her dog went off his food, they put him on fluids (drip) and he perked back up. She took him home and he got sick again. She had some x-rays done and they found a piece of plastic in his intestine. They didn't see it at first, but they suspected something was in there, so she went ahead with the surgery. He's so lucky it didn't tear his intestinal wall, he must have eaten it from the yard :(

But the surgery went well and he's all good now :) If the vet can't find anything please ask for x-rays, hope scruffy is ok :hug:

:cry: he has cancer. I will be picking him up this afternoon and bringing him home for lots of love and care until he leaves us. The kids are going to be devastated, I don't know how to tell them. Millie is pregnant and due very soon, I hope he gets to see his pups and am so so glad we kept Blaze from the last litter, he is just like Scruffy all over. Now my username is more special than ever.

Sorry to hear your little Scruffy has cancer. You have no doubt given him the best life any dog could want and he knows he is loved and will know this right till the very end. Hold him tight.

Oh dear, poor Scruffy, very sorry to hear that!

I am sorry Dianne. We went through the exact same thing 1 yr ago to the day. We were told our baby girl of 13yrs had cancer in the lymph nodes. I had planned to bring her home to die but I didn't want the kids to find her before us. 2 days later I was at the vet saying my final goodbyes. The vet did an ultrasound on her for free the morning of the day she was put to sleep and we were told she was riddled with cancer every major organ was under major attack.

So I definitely know what you are going through at the this stage.

The kids are so upset but at the same time showing so much courage. DD10 and DS13 are making up a roster so someone is with him all the time. The vet said he's not in a lot of pain for now, we wont let him suffer and I can call him anytime, he's been so good. Scruffy is being so loved right now and I think he's happy, I hope he is. Thank you all so much.
