which of these do you like?

I like both but have a favourite which of course is different to the one DH likes :rolleyes: I'm going to wait and see what she looks like when she's born anyway, but am interested in others' thoughts.

Also, any suggestions for middle names would be great. I've considered using my mum's name (Susan) but she hated it and she wasn't a fan of lillies (Susan means lily). Her middle name and my middle name is Kaye, but I don't think DH is keen. So again, any suggestions are welcome and I'll see what grabs me.

Imogen and Gretchen

I like Imogen!
I don't mind Gretchen but it sounds and looks a bit harsh for me.

Re middle names, make a deal and let DH "win" on the first name, in return you get to choose the second name ;). Then go ahead and choose one of your mum's names or a name based on a word that evokes her memory in some way. :hug:

I love Imogen. I'm a bit biased with Gretchen, because that's one of the girls who bullied me in high school :-/

I've always loved Imogen but won't have it b/c of our surname, it sounds odd. I don't mind Gretchen however, it is a little harsh IMO.

You could go Kayley (not sure how you'd spell it) But that could be a mix of Kaye and Lily :dunno:

I like Greta and Gretel too, but Gretchen sounds best with our surname. Well it did until willow put it together for me :)

I don't think I'm ever going to sell DH on Gretchen anyway. It'd be so much easier if we were having a boy. We've had a boy name agreed on since I was 16 weeks with DD1!

Ah, well I just googled Orchid to see if they were known by any other names, and to see what 'orchid' meant. I'd be thinking it's definitely out. Orchid comes from the Greek word meaning testicle :o So yeah not sure that's gonna cut it either :p

I searched for names meaning Orchid on thinkbabynames and only got one...
Orquidea \o-rqui-dea, or-quidea\ as a girl's name is of Spanish origin, and the meaning of Orquidea is "orchid".

I think people will be content that it means orchid and not testicle! :lol:
