38 weeks and vomiting
I'm not keeping anything down. I've had nothing but fluids since getting up at 7:30am. I'm trying not to drink huge amounts as I am vomiting a lot. I don't know where it's all coming from. There's also not a lot of warning (unusual for me). DH has already had to mop the floors once 'cause I didn't make it to the loo on time. As the day goes on I'm feeling worse, more tired and shakier. DH mentioned going to the hospital if it doesn't improve. How long should I give it before going?
I should add that I don't believe it's anything I've eaten. No one else is sick and I didn't eat anything they didn't yesterday.

Can you keep fluids down, or are they coming up too? If you're not able to keep anything down then I think you should at least ring your hospital and see what they suggest. Ihope you feel better soon.
-
Give the hospital a ring and ask for advice. They will probably get you to come in and this way you will be able to be reassured by a midwife if it's a tummy bug. There is a tummy bug going around which lasts for about 24 hours.
If it was me, I would be getting checked as you don't want to weaken yourself if you go into labour.
-
I agree with Rivlas. Ring the hossy TC.
-
Yep, phone the hossi or just head in. You would be needing fluids by now I'd imagine.
Big hugs, hope you're ok.
-
Hope you are ok H. Please call the hospital, you don't want to become dehydrated
-
:( I hope you're feeling ok now ...
-
I'm keeping fluids down now at least. Haven't chucked for about 2.5 hours now. Still pretty nauseous.
DH had to go to work but he called a friend to come sit with me and DD until he gets home.
-
Could it be prelabour? I was very similar in the couple days leading up to giving birth. I also had diarrhea.
Hopefully you get better real soon!! Definitely go to hosp if it doesn't get better soon though..
-
I'm glad you have someone with you :)
Feel better soon, TC.
-
I was vomitting a few days before i went into labour. Hope it settles down for you soon.
-
I also threw up in the lead up to my labour with DD (38w) so I hope it is something innocent like that for you
-
I felt terrible and vomited for two days when I was 38 weeks. I felt like my morning sickness was back. One day I woke up feeling fantastic again and went into labour that afternoon. Maybe it's pre labour signs....;) hope so anyway xx
-
i would still be calling the hospy and seeing what they say. But also keep a check on bubs movements, and make sure you go straight in if they lessen.
-
^^ yeah that, but secretly hoping it is pre labour! xx

DH got some hydralite on the way home. The lady at the chemist also gave him some ginger tea for me to try.
I'm feeling better tonight. I've only vomited once all afternoon and that was after eating a teeny amount of apricot. I'll see how I feel in the morning and will probably call my midwife (but I have an appointment on wednesday anyway). I just hope I've got a few more days because DH is working everyday this week but has a month off starting Jan 1.
BH contractions have also picked up quite a bit today. They haven't really bothered me at all this pregnancy until today. I've had some lower abdominal cramping in the last hour or so, but that might be bubs moving around. She's been very active today.

Sounds like baby isn't far off anyway! Hydrolyte is a good idea xx

Still here. Everything has settled down again. Had a midwife appointment yesterday and she attributed the vomiting to gastro. I did have a stressful weekend so maybe it was my body's way of making me take a break.

 hope you feel better soon, hun xo
