We got mine from Myer.
Sydney Road has all teh bridal shops though if you are after a true bridesmaids dress...what kind of wedding it it?
Thanks LS!
It's a beach wedding in QLD.
The specifications are black and knee length.
I suspect I'm looking for more of a ****tail dress rather than a bridesmaid dress.
My friend was very happy with the ones she got from ebay/China - she picked the dress, sent in all the measurements, and everything was perfect! And a lot cheaper than anything here. But make sure you find a reputable one if you decide to go down that route, because it's not as easy as going to Fair Trade if you have a problem :)
ETA - You could also look at catalogues, like UCW or Postie. From the sounds of it they might have something perfect if it's a beach wedding :)
Yep, I would try Myer and DJs first then, we got some gorgeous black ones for my wedding.
The other thing is ModCloth, and if you want something a bit more special, check out a custom from Dig For Victory on Etsy, she is in the UK, but makes AMAZING dresses from vintage patterns and fabrics.
Or Hellpixie, she's AWESOME! Just ask Rouge, Trav and Sarah ;)
I got my bridesmaids dresses from Crossroads for $8 each ;)
Knee length black and white dresses that flattered both ladies.
Target has some nice dresses that don't look like they come from target :)
Or as others have suggested: myer, dj's, a chain store called "ever after" has very pretty dresses and another is jacqui-e.
Good luck!

Myers or DJ as others have said.
Spurling Bridal in Essendon
Noni B used to have lots of bridesmaids dresses
Look up the web site MrK they have lots of awesome dresses.
daniela's - great great dresses that I got for my bridesmaids - had so many comments about them!
they have a few shops - one at bridge road, and another at southland - I'm not sure where up your way, but there are a few locations so if you look them up there should be one closer I would think.
good luck!
ps. they are more like evening wear than bridesmaid dresses....
Lots of the bridal websites have sections for bridesmaid dresses, you could have a look on there and get an idea of what you like, then you could go to a dressmaker to make something similar and tailored to you! That is what I did for my wedding and for other peoples weddings that I have been bridesmaid for. I also would try DJ's, Myer and shops like Green with Envy - they often have gorgeous stuff. The wedding I was in last year we found our silk dresses at Sportsgirl of all places!
when I got married, we got bridesmaid dresses from Green With Envy. My sister in law got married recently and her bridesmaids chose a beautiful dress from chain store Forever New
Agree re: Forever New.
You could also try Events (have had two lots of good BM dresses from there), Cue, Seduce, Jigsaw or Review (exxy but oh my lord, so many pretty dresses!).
Happy hunting!
Try Ravish in Burwood.
Try Sasha Drake too - some gorgeous stuff for all sizes!
^^ Knox shop closed In November - that is where I originally ordered mine from and then had to pick it up at their Armadale store b/c Burwood wasn't opened then!
Daniela's in Greensy Plaza hun. They are pretty good. Also Unik in Greensy Plaza.
I think there is a Daniela's at Epping ???
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
Maybe there is ZF but if she comes to the Greensy one we can meet for a coffee ;)
Spose I could go to Epping. Spose.
Good reasoning :) I'm hoping to catch her early next week, if we set a day your welcome to join us ;)
Shattered we will miss tomorrow.

Thanks lovely ladies- have given me some great ideas!
Found a gorgeous dress at alannah hill for $400....
Are her clothes worth it?
Also some lovely dresses at Jacqui E.
Daniela's is at Epping- went in yesterday, terrible service and very small sizing!

I've had great success at Jacqui E recently too!
Umm, what else... nah I'm out. I've always had great service at Daniela's in Greensy :p ;)
Lady Stardust Boutique - google them, can't remember where they are but I want to say Sydney Road Brunwsick or similar...
As for Alannah Hill, meh, I'm a bit take her or leave her. If you think it's worth it, then it is worth it.
ETA: ZF, you're on. Let me know. :)
The woman at Daniela's GB is beautiful (assuming she's still there). Mum got gorgeous dresses for both mine and my brother's weddings there. Because the lady knew mum was looking for something special, if something new came in she'd hold it and phone mum. So nice dresses for all ages and styles. Unik is nice too and they have Spurling there as well - but I don't know if it's just hire or whether you can buy.
ETA - My bridesmaids dresses were bought from Ferrari formal wear in Heidelberg. They had beautiful dresses, although I remember we weren't that impressed by the service at the time.
I've never had great service at Ferrari either. Our wedding suits came from Spurling! We are such locals!!
Lol, OP all our suits came from Spurling too. Glad to see we're supporting local business
Nice one Emma, lurve Alannah Hill. Describe....?
If you want it, get it! Am sure it's gorgeous.
Sent a pm Buffy
If you can pull off Alannah Hill DO IT!! lol
Just realized she only goes to a 14 :(
I'm more a 16- especially across the bust.....
I am a big allanah hill fan... And my bridesmaids wore black lace alannah hill dresses ( in 2003)
They flattered all of them and were quite timeless
They have all worn them many times since
