My husband really liked this name for a boy until I told him that it is a girls name as well.
When I hear it I don't think of a girl I think boy, what does everyone else think?
Thanks

I think of a boy :)
Boy, and I know a little boy called Hunter. To me, there's no way it's a girls name!
boy :)
Boy never thought of for girl
Far too masculine for a girl IMO and I only know boys named Hunter.

It's a boy's name.
Boys name :)
Easy - boy!
I've never heard of it as a girls name.
Having said that, to me, my DS name (Hayden) and other names like Cameron, Leighton, Blake, Riley are definately boys names but there are girls out there with those names.
Boys name for me :). Ive not heard of it as a girls name myself.
I think of boy but think its cute for a girl aswell
Never heard it used for a girl. I know two boy Hunters.
I only think of it as a boys name but I have met a girl called Hunter.
I know 2 boys and 1 girl with the name and I think its definatly a BOYS name.
The person I know off with a girl apparantly had picked name from time she found out was preg and was using for either sex. To me its very masculine and strong name.
The actress who plays Taylor on Bold and the Beautiful is called Hunter Tylo (I wish I didn't know these facts!) but when I think of the name I think boy.
I think of a boy :)
I think the defination of the word is definately masculine as in a hunter is a person who hunts. Traditionally, this is male role.
JMO, I don't like the trend to use boys names for girls overly much. Especially when it is hard enough to find good boys names without them being turned into girls names. My name is like that & it bugs me. My DH got asked if he was me when someone rang recently and he answered the phone. When I was little, I used to add -Anne to my name to make it more feminine.
To me, it is definitely a boys name. My eldest children have gone to school with quite a number of Hunters, but none of them girls.
A boys name for sure!
Boys name here as well. I really really like the name and wanted it for one of my boys. Unfortunately couldn't get DH to come around.
I think a boys name!
Boys name for me. I think of the author Hunter S Thompson plus a friend who's son is named Hunter.
Definitely a boy only in my eyes.
I know a couple of Hunters and they are boys
I think boy.
"Diana" is a goddess of the hunt.
Boy here as well :)
There is a gir Hunter in my DD1s class at school, and we know a boy aswell.
I only know one Hunter, she's a girl. I really like it as a girls name actually. I think it's pretty cool, and my friend Hunter rocks her name :)
I have known one woman and one boy called Hunter so for me it's gender neutral.
Boys name for me
I like it for both but I really wanted to call one of our DS's Hunter. Dh however wasnt having a bar of it because it reminded him of a gladiator
Boys come to mind when I first hear it though
Hunter Tylo is the actress who plays Taylor on Bold and the Beautiful.
She may have started life as a boy, though. Who can tell with all the plastic surgery.

Boy. Have no heard it for a girls name
Thanks everyone for your replies. I only think of it as a boys name but a friend of a friend has a girl called Hunntah.
Hee Hee about the Hunter Tylo comment! so funny!
I just don't want the confusion for my LO, of people saying boy or girl...
