Ummm, I don't really know? Not something I have every thought about. I am greatful to have my children for various reasons and I don't think I could chose.
I chose toddler.
I love how newborns sleep and you get so many cuddles.
But, I love toddlers 'more' because they can play alone and understand you alot more.
Can't wait til DD is about 2!
Toddler for me :)
I'm definitely a toddler and beyond person. TBH I find newborns pretty boring - as much as I adored my own I don't go all gooey cuddling anyone else's. I love the toddler + years because I feel its more when their little characters come out and the fun really begins when they start interacting so much more with the world around them.
I'm a newborn person :) I so miss the snuggles!
Newborns. Would be happy to miss the toddler phase completely. Happy again once they're about three and a half. Maybe it was just my experience with DD1 that scarred me though :)
Toddler. So much fun. I find babies hard work. Lovely, but hard work.
Toddler because they still need you but can be independent. Newborns although they sleep I am always so scared to 'break' them
In betweenie - 3 months to 18 months I love all those little milestones - rolling walking talking first food etc
We used to sing to dd around this age when she got out of the bath - she hated it so she learnt actions quite fast (nice distraction huh) I miss all that!!! And they still stay mostly clean lol

Toddlers. Definitely.
haven't had any of my own yet, but based on other peoplke's little ones, I like the satge in between, like MummyDuck, about 6-18 months.
I love both for different reasons. I find toddlerhood definitely more of a challenge but they are so cute. I reckon Ds at almost 4 is at a great age.

There's no option for I'm a cat person.
I honestly can't decide. A year ago I would definitely have been a newborn person, but watching my nephew take these huge strides in speech and understanding is just so freaking awesome....I really can't choose!
Definitely toddler. I struggled terribly through the newborn stage and only now am I really enjoying my motherhood experience.
I don't think i could select one or the other in the poll.
I did enjoy my newborns but sadly it's such a blur. I would do it over again in a second if i could.
But i do love the toddler age and seeing them grow into the little people they are destined to become also. I think this time seems a little calmer and you get more time to reflect and see what is happening.
For me it's the whole journey (so far) but i have a friend who would say she'd have more if she could have them from the 2ish mark so i know not everyone shares my thoughts :)
I can't pick one either.
I love both. I have 2 very mellow girls that have been that way since they were born.
Oh my gosh - definitely toddlers! I'm terrified of newborns and when friends of mine are holding a newborn and ask if I want a hold my answer is a definite "no"!
Im definitely a newborn/ baby person.

I try to (mostly) like my kids however they come :) It's all one and the same to me - they're different all the time.
I chose newborn, but I love both stages. I think I chose newborn simply because I think I cope a little better with newborns than toddlers. I love watching my toddler learn all these amazing new things and he is developing in leaps and bounds which is fantastic to watch, but I definitely struggle at times with the tantrums and throwing.
Toddler for me! Less frustrating when they can tell me what they want, plus they hug back. And tell you they love you. And come out with the most hysterically funny stories!!
Eta - actually, I'm going to mix it up. With the first child I prefer the newborn stage. Any children after, I prefer the toddler stage.
Toddler stage!! I knew I would love it and I do!! although I really feel like I wished away my DD's newborn stages and I do feel sad about that but having NO sleep and a screaming reflux baby is just not fun!
Each baby/child is different. I see no purpose in this question really.
Onyx, I LOVE your response ;)
xx
I love newborns because you can leave them anywhere and they won't move, but I don't like to get up 3 times a night to feed them. Big job. Toddlers are great as you can leave them for a short while while they play on their own, and you can interact/communicate with them more, but sometimes I feel like I need to watch a toddler ALL DAY LONG when they are naughty. So I would probably chose a toddler, but just! lol
I'm a newborn person. I'm struggling with the terrible two's times three and gosh do I miss them as babies.
Neither. I don't really like little ones.
Give me a four year old, toilet trained, sleeping through the night, feeding themselves, talking appropriately, and able to understand behavioural consequences... NOW you're talking!
Older than that is even better!
The rest of it - babies, toddlers - is just hard work.
I voted Newborn.
But having an almost 5 & 6 year old.... I miss all those baby stages now.
I like both. :p
I voted toddler - but really my vote is for toddler and beyond. I am another that would have more if they arrived at 2 years old. For me it isn't anything to do with the work of newborns, I have had very easy bubs and they have been easier than my toddler, I just don't 'get' newborns and find them a bit boring.
I am a newborn person and I would skip toddler phase also! I find it too hard having 2 toddlers!
My ds as a newborn was terrible, but from 5 months he started sleeping through and his cute factor broke the cutometer. He just gets better and better. Now he's a total threenager, asks "why" constantly and refuses to listen to me, but he's so wonderful to talk to and is incredibly creative. I just love seeing him learn, explore, create and develop into a fully fledged little man with opinions of his own.
Dd was absolutely delightful for the first 5 months, but has become such a stroppy and determined little minx, she's quite the handful. She also far from sleeps through. However, she is going to be fabulous to watch grow.

Definitely toddler! I just adore my toddler and her beautiful little personality and attitude!
I found a newborn quite boring, then after that she turned into a bad sleeper which put me off, lol.
But in saying that, I'm now really looking forward to having a quiet little snuggly newborn again!!
