ZF - they are great for hilly areas. What you could do is get 2 or 3, give them a decent fenced area with water and shelter (goat proof fencing is different to sheep fencing), then just tether them for a few hours at a time in the area you need to them to work in
Feeling heavy since the having the muffins, oh and the sticky chicken.
Christy - DD1 has martial arts twice a week, I have been hoping sneak out for a quick walk. There are many parents who never even step in the door, so me ducking off for 15 minutes should be acceptable.
Ooh yes the kids meals. Mostly trying to feed them the same as us, or a slight variation of. Was good an did not have DD1's rejected sandwich from lunch as I already had mine, so I gave it to DH and he just filled it with his extra ingredients. Normally I would have scoffed it along with my food. We also have chooks, so I just remind myself what they don't eat is not waste, the chooks turn it into eggs, or sometimes the dog gets it.
So easy for me not to post in here and ignore it all...especially since I'm sitting here eating my 3rd triple choc cookie. And the sucky part is I was doing well today and yesterday until DH brought them home...:( I am trying really hard not to eat any more and leave them for DH. Though yesterday I also had some jam rollettes, again because DH brought them home. I ate two before it clicked a) that I didn't even really want them and b) I shouldn't be eating them and C) they actually weren't really very nice. I was just eating out of habbit and because they were there. But other than them, I did well with my eating yesterday and today until the cookies. Still not exercising, but I have hurt my neck somehow, which means no wii'ing, although I could still go for a walk since that doesn't involve my neck, but DH won't be home til 6.30pm and then it's chaos time in our house with bathing and bed time, but I'm just making more excuses.
Arrgghhh, gotta go I have one extrememly grumpy baby on my lap! Which isn't going to help with not eating those biscuites....gotta BE STRONG!!!!
Well... I went out to dinner with DH & it was my favourite food, Mexican but tehey had tamales.... I love tamales.... soooo yum..... ah well.... one dinner isn't going to hurt me.
Christy - ooh I love Mexican as well.
Weekends are my weakness.
So much easier during the week. Same routine each day, not much room for movement, all the food for the day planned out and packed in lunch bags.
Weekends totally different. No structure, plus I have DD2 to feed all day(normally childcare feeds her). DH interferes, like deciding just on snack time is the time to go shopping, starving by lunch, so I end up scoffing the salami I got for the kids sandwiches. Just feel like I am behind the 8 ball. Does not help though this weekend as both girls have kept me up all night.
Christy - I love Mexican too!
Astrid - we struggle on weekends too. Better this one than usual but I am trying to keep on improving. I reckon highlighting the weak points of your strategy helps too. I have caved and bought some WW fruit tubs for those times. Also avoided buying more yummy/fatty stuff at the shops. Going with the idea that if it is not there I can't eat it and that the kids here don't need it either.
Been very good with jogs/walk every day and keeping active during the day too. Walking extra almost 2hours a day with school stuff Mon/Tues/alt Thursdays so that should help too - just gotta limit the coffee catch ups, lol!
I must confess to having 2 scones/jam/cream and a small bucket of vino last week at a friends for dinner but on we roll this week. Have lost 0.4kg which is a move in the right direction.
Good luck this week girls!
Hi everyone!
I was wondering if it's ok if I joined in here? I'm in a bit of a slump at the moment and need all the support I can get (gosh that's so selfish!).
I'm currently following the 12 week body transformation. I completed last round last year (for those who don't know, the 12wbt is split into 3 rounds per year) and I lost 27.5kgs in 16 weeks. I've gone on to hit the 30kgs mark but not I'm kind of stuck. I'm hoping now that Christmas, my sisters wedding and associated events are all done with that I can get on track to get the rest of this weight off this year.
I have a LOT of weight sill to lose, but I'm determined (most of the time) to get there by new years eve 2012.
I'm training up to 6 days a week, and following a calorie controlled diet and it's working quite well when I actually follow it.
I hope it's ok for me to jump in here. I LOVE following other people's journey's and I get a lot of inspiration and enthusiasm from reading them. I'm sure to get heaps from you lovely ladies in the coming weeks and months.
Cheers. x
Waiting for DD to finish her 1st hr of kinder, did a 2.6km walk on 25min, not great but haven't walked in a long time.
BBL for personals.
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
Hi Niadalla and welcome!! Of course you can crash our party!! The more the merrier!
Mak, well done with your exercising! At least that's one hurdle you have jumped! And as yousay, losing .4kg is a step in the right direction!
Astrid  we don't technically have weekends, as DH works odd shifts and his roster is always different every week, but on the days he's off, I always do worse than usual. But I also do terribly when he's on night shifts too. So for the majority of the time, I have issues, lol! Really need to work on that!
AFM, I am yet again doing terribly....AF is here and I have succumbed to the cravings. Seriously, I suck at this!
ETA, Wow, niadalla, I am having a look at your blog and just....wow!! You are doing such an awesome job! What a journey you have had so far.
Quickie as at work :shhh:
As of this morning I have lost 4.4kg :happydance: Pretty good, but most of it was in the first 2 days. Only 1kg in the last 5 days. Still not bad, but means I have to keep on top of it, not get all complacient. For the 1MKC I will still be doing group A snacks till I work out what my average weekly loss is
Back for personals tonight!
Thank you 3littlemonkeys. I've been having a good crack at the weight loss thing over the last 5 odd months. Lots more to go still, but hopefully I can get there.
Hi all, can I join in too?
I need to lose 11kg to get to my healthy weight range. I'm on a mission... :D
PP me too, I have 11kg to go... I want to get to 80kg. I'm on 91 atm....
I lost as well just over 1kg in the last week... I actually hate that the weigh in's for the 1MKC is on Mondays, because Sunday nights are my worst. Ah well... it maybe a good thing to weigh myself the day after so I have a more accurate reading of how I am going. The last 4 day's I've been up and down weight wise and started AF but I'm happy with how I'm going. I think I must have gained some muscle after last week ;)
Niadalla wow what a journey, sounds like you've done an awesome job!!! Well done!
Mak: Woo Hoo on you loss and excellent work with the exercise.
Niadalla: Welcome :D Awesome loss you have to date
ZF: Great walk, very jealous ;)
3LM:  with the sugar cravings. Wondering if there is anything that can help with that? I have read in the past about Chromium. I find a green tea takes the edge off things. Really hard to have anything sweet with green tea, it just tastes wrong. Maybe look for a herbal tea?
Purple Penguin: Welcome :D
AFM: well nothing much since my last past. Oh, work has brought in full fat milk and are teasing my about the '0' sugar qty on the coffee list. They are doing it in a nice way though :)
Did some exercise this morning, what I could in the 10 minutes I had available of the morning. The dog got involved though and was almost tripping my up on my shuttle runs, then she decide that the best place to lie for a tummy scratch was right under my face when doing push ups - silly dog
Hiya all. Hope the weight loss is going well.
Question for you all...
How much water do you drink every day? I struggle. And after having my DD I'm trying to really set a healthy eating and drinking routine, but because she is still not home yet, I am running on hospital food from the cafe and COKE :( I hate the stuff. But the caffiene is keeping me going (i don't drink coffee.) So how to make water tasty? Hmmm and appealing. Cos let's be honest, its... Well... Boring. Lol
On the exercise front, I cleaned the house at a fast pace. Music blaring, stretching bending sitting on the fitness ball whilst folding towels etc. I want to go for a swim tonight.
For dinner we have honey soy kebabs which I've made. DH is picky so doesn't eat very healthy. I am sort of picky but tonight instead of lots of pasta I'm going to turn the kebabs into wraps with salad. So I still get protein from the chicken but minimal carbs from pasta and wrap.
Just got to work on ditching the soft drink. And onto water.
Sent on the move with Tapatalk.
Thanks for the nice welcome :D everyone.
Lys, I put a slice of lemon in my water on the days I don't really feel like drinking water, it helps.
Me: I'm currently giving myself a kickstart with Tony Ferguson shakes and soups and following their New Start plan, I was offered it for free so I jumped on the chance.
I'm doing Zumba on the PS3 4 or 5 nights a week and my DH said we're going walking every Sunday on the 1000 Steps in Ferntree Gully. We went on Saturday and holy wow! it was a workout and a half but I made it to the top, we walked 2.75km up in a little over 30 minutes.
Purple Penguin, :hello: welcome!
Christy, a 1kg weight loss with AF hanging around is awesome!! Great going!
Astrid, I have heard of taking chromium for sugar cravings...I will have to look into when I get a chance. With the green tea, I agree that it's hard to have anything sweet after it! But I only like a certain kind, and can't get it in my tiny little town. I'm trying to get my mum to get me some and send it, but she keeps fogetting. I do have a few tea bags left though, I must get back into drinking it.
Great job on your exercise, a little bit is better than none! And I lol'd at the picture of your dog exercising with you then giving up for tummy scratches....sounds like something I would do hehehe  if I were a dog of course ;)
Lys, I'm pretty good at water drinking, I prefer it over most other things, so I guess I'm lucky. I love plain soda water or mineral water, the bubbles kind of livens plain water up a bit, lol. What about having diet coke, not great, and not water, but better than normal coke? And still has the caffiene. Diet cordial into water, or into soda water. Keep a bottle with you in you handbag and just have a gulp whenever you remember it there. It really does become a habbit, and your body gets used to the extra hydration and you will find you will feel more thirsty.
I am great with drinking water at work. Something about being stuck at a desk, I am always taking sips, plus I like the excuse to get up and get another refill ;)
Not 100% at home, kind of forget then I find myself very thirsty. Chilled water with ice is very refreshing, especially with sprigs of mint/lemon balm.
Niadalla, I must say, your blog is very motivating! I have been in struggle street for a long time now with my weight loss (not just weight loss, but also AND, PND and depression), and reading your blog, I see you have been there too, so seeing you doing it now, is quite a comfort to think that I can and will get there one day. I have significant amounts of weight to lose, (potentially up to 40kg, but realistically, and I would be happy with about 30kg) and it is so daunting to me. Which is part of what holds me back, as well as the fear of failing agian, and again and again. Which I see is ridiculous because if I just DID it, I wouldn't fail and it would be all over. But it ain't so simple. And reading your words, from someone who has really been where I am, it's comforting to know you have done it, so why the hell wouldn't I be able to one day. So thankyou. Thankyou for writing it all down and taking the time to blog. I'm sure you have helped and are helping way more people out there, particularly women and mums who have struggled, but have taken comfort in and gained motivation from your ongoing story.
Woo Hoo Personals time, finally on the computer after DD1's first day (read 1hr) at kinder yesterday.
~*Niadella*~ wow hun what an AMAZING journey you've taken to get this far, your doing such an AMAZING job, to have the strength and ability to loose 30kg and be training sometimes up to 6 days a week takes A LOT of dedication and will power, please don't EVER stop believing in yourself as your doing such an amazing job.
Astrid - shake that sexy a**e  - 4.4kg is a great effort hun, the walk was ok, made me realise how unfit i was though so am looking forward to get faster and stronger at it and tackling the big hill near the kinder once i get my confidence up, am really looking forward to DD2 being old enough (at the end of this year) to do her swimming lessons alone as then i could do some laps while the girls are in the pool :p
3LM - hun you don't suck at this, AF sucks and she's an evil evil thing  personally slipping to a few cravings at that time of the month is not a bad thing, your acknowledging these things are not pefect for you and it's something to work on - rome wasn't built in a day - can you maybe pick one thing you hate the most that you snack on and try and reduce it or cut it out then next mth work on the next thing?
christy - keep up the greart work hun - 1kg is better than none and sometimes even that 1kg is extremely hard work, your doing well.
PP - hun your always welcome, come on in and join the crew  maybe we should do another zoo meet and walk around sweating our butts off again ???
LysnDan - water wise i fill up some drink bottles and throw them in the fridge and sip on them all day, every now and then i randomly throw in a cordial then at night we have a water jug that goes on the table now instead of softdrink.
Well done on the kebabs and wraps, it's nice having something refreshing.
I think i got everyone, to anyone i missed i'm sorry and i hope your well.
AFM - weighed in late yesterday arvo for the 1MKC and was sitting at 93kg which i was happy about but i thought i better weigh in properly this morning with no clothes on and at the same time as usual and i am happy to say i am now only 2.3kg off my first goal of 90kg and i am confident that with walking and watching my food i CAN AND WILL get there before my birthday!
We did a the 25min walk yesterday and i felt so unfit and i hate it. As a kid i was always quite chubby but i was a sporty girl i played basketball, netball, cricket, did runner for my bro's footy team and swam competitively, so even though i was 'larger' than most i was atleast generally fit.
I hate that as an adult i don't get the exercise i need but i am hoping that with starting to walk again while DD1 is at kinder i will start getting a bit of fitness back, i should also start using the zumba i have on the playstation but i find it quite hard and annoying as there are no 'real' step-by-step instructions.
I'm going ok with our meals and am finding it easy to have smaller portions and pack in moer veggies (i love veggies) but i find it hard not cooking the same thing all week IYKWIM, it's also hard as the girls are quite stubborn with food and it's all well and good to say DP and i are eating healthy and this is what we have but making the girls eat that or cooking alternatives is gettingg to be a PITA.
Sorry for the ramble ladies.... i'm feeling good, i hope your all so very proud of your effots and thanks for the support.
Wow, thanks so much ladies. It's taken a while for me to become comfortable giving people access to my blog and even talking about my actual weight and figures on there. It's been a hard road I guess, but being on the other side of that first 30kgs it seems like it was easy.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I blog for myself mainly. I want to show myself where I've been and how far I've come and hopefully keep myself on track especially on those days where I'm feeling hopeless. I also wanted to inspire and encourage others who have been where I have and show them that it CAN be done.
Receiving comments such as yours is something that really humbles me and shows me that I'm doing the right thing. It also really encourages me to continue which is exactly what I need right now. So thank you!!
Welcome PP! I'm a newbie to this forum too, so we can be newbies together. LOL All the best for your weightloss journey! Can't wait to see how well you go!
Astrid 4.4kgs is fantastic!!! Well done!
Christy 1kg loss for a week is awesome! Well done! I'm sure you'll hit your goal in no time!
Lysndan - water. I never used to drink any! I'd drink a glass of milk and maybe a soft drink each day and that was it. Terrible! I now try and make myself drink at least 3 litres of water a day, but if I get to the end of the day and I've had 2 litres I'm happy enough with that. I have found that I really only like COLD water. I can't do warmish water, I can't do room temp water, it's chilled water or no water (unless I've been training hard, where I will drink whatever water is available to me). You could always have a touch of cordial with your water to sweeten it a little, or you could have cups of tea which is still counting towards your water intake for the day. Green tea is apparently the best, although I am not a huge fan personally (I should just drink it and deal with it).
My first few days of drinking water really was forcing myself. I don't dislike water, I just wasn't used to drinking such large quantities. My body on the other hand, LOVED it! Such a good way to flush it out. I immediately felt the benefits of drinking lots of water, so I kept with it. I do have the occasional fizzy drink or alcoholic beverage when out, but most of the time all I crave now is water.
Sorry if that's no help. lol
Hi everyone else!
Had strength training last night that I didn't burn my full amount of calories for (although lifting weights means my body will burn for several hours after I 'stop'). Tonight I'm planning on my short 8km walk/jog to try and overcome my calorie burn defecit yesterday. I'm also going to try my hardest to eat well today. I ate like a champion yesterday until DH came home with CHIPS!!! I couldn't help myself (I could... I was just giving myself permission and using excuses) and I ate 2 handfuls which is better than consuming the whole packet, but I felt so guilty afterwards.
Today I'm GOING to eat well and the chips are gone after hubby finished them last night so there are no more temptations.
Have a great day ladies!
Aww, shucks, thanks ZF.
Another Zoo trip would be fun :) Or maybe we could try somewhere else.
Zumba on the PS gets easier the more you do it, so while there's not a 'step-by-step' type thing on there the beginner classes aren't too fast that you can't keep up. They also have the song/dances listed separately so you can try them out one at a time.
Awesome! :D All the best to you too, I'm sure you'll do great as well.
How are we all?
Just did a big shop and bought a HEAP of fruit & veg, am really loving it at the moment.
Going to try out a few of the 1MKC recipes, there is a pumpkin salad with pine nuts... mmmm yum and am going to add spinach to it.. *drool*
ZF, fruit is all pretty good here too, though it's a bit hit and miss for us being in a remote town. We only get fruit and veg deliveries once a week. And that salad sounds delish!
I am still up and down. I did some garening and mowed the lawn the other day for some exercise and besides the fact my leg muscles and shoulder muscles are sore (like exercising kind of sore!) I have hurt my back, I got badly sunburned and got 3 blisters on my hand! LOL, that will teach me!! I should stick to the walking kind of exercise for now....though no pain no gain I guess!
Eating is going ok too. Still not great, but not terrible. I weighed myself for the first time in a while yesterday and I am 93.6kg, still the same weight I was last time, so whilst it's not ideal, as I want to be losing weight, it's ok. Because honestly I ahven't put in hardly any effort, at least I'm not back up to nearly 95kg. I need to find my groove....hoping tomorrow will be a nice day so I can go for a good long walk as the kids are all in day care.
I hope everyone is going well!!
Wonder when that one is going to be on the menu plan. We have just harvested some nice pumpkins!
Warning Big Sooky Lala whinge (but I need it out)
- I hate exercise. I am so unfit, it is just horrid.
- I hate having to trying and fit it in in my already busy day.
- I hate having to get changed for it.
- I hate how hard my sneakers are to put on. Damn laces
- I hate not remembering how to do the exercises. I know I can watch them just before the workout, but if do that, then I lose exercise time.
- I am bored - I just find it boring. I know there a lots of things to do in the plan, but it just bores me.
- I hate that my bike pants make me sweaty and I really can't have a sweaty groin right now (I struggle with dermatitis)
Ok, that is out. I can move on now and have no more excuses ;)
Astrid - I hear you and it sucks! Good one for getting it out. xxx
Well, DH who has only been part following the 1MKC plan (Dinners and lunches, no change to exercise), has lost 3kgs in the past 8 days. His work pants this morning nearly fell off so he had tighten his belt.
Bad me, did another sneaky way as the Wii fit was out for DH. Down 1.3kg since Monday morning. Once again, using it as a guide (as I did have a mini blow out last night). Won't treat anything as official till the nudie first thing in the morning weight in next Monday.
Being naughty tomorrow, taking the girls for lunch with DP's dad & nan, not much choice around there & the girls want chippies cos nanna likes them.
I might duck in and grab a salad roll but then I have a photography session with dp's cousin at 5:30 and chances are it will be takeaway on the way home.
Will try and minimize any damage though :(
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
Hi everyone! I hope you managed to have a great week!
The weekend is almost here and hopefully, I can behave myself. No real plans this weekend so I should be able to..... I hope.
I'm off for my first decent jog/walk tonight. 8kms. Should be ok with it, although my hip injury is hampering things a little. Hoping to get that sussed out next week.
Tomorrow I've got bootcamp followed by an afternoon full of tennis and then Sunday I'm planning on at least 8kms again.
I've just signed up for a 10km fun run on the first Sunday in March, and I'll also do the Mother's Day Classic and I'm wanting to do the Run for the Kids.... but I'll have to see how I go time and money wise.
My eating has been better the last 2 days, although I've had my slip ups..... cupcakes. :S
I had a very disappointing weigh in on Wednesday. I've sat at the same weight for about 4 weeks now and it's starting to get the better of me, but I'm going to try and suck it up and push on.
Anyway, have a fab weekend everyone! Lots of weight loss vibes to you all! :)
Niadalla - I have been in a rut too. Hope we can shake it! Well been a crappy week here with DD starting school and some family issues so not as much exercise as I had hoped and messy but not horrendous eating. Hope you are all doing ok.
Niadalla and Mak:  re the rut. Hope you both make your way out of it quickly.
AFM: Well disappointed with my workout this morning. Caught up with a friend at an outdoor exercise area. Thought we would get a decent session in, but she arrived with 2 kids (was expecting the baby, but not the older one). Thought we would do a walk/jog, then the equipment, but no she just wanted the equipment. It is meant to be used as part of a run (run along the boardwalk, then a round of the equipment, run again, etc). Every piece of equipment I wanted to go on, I ask to ask her eldest to get off. Then it started to rain, ok for me, but not for a baby who is in a stroller, not a decent rain protected pram. So basically it was a big fat waste of time.
Next time I have vowed to go for my own jog first (I get there earlier than her) and will try and get her to do one as well part way though the workout (well this is assuming she brings the decent pram).
I made up for it though, fired up Just Dance for 20 minutes when I got home and really got my heart pumping.
oh Astrid that is so hard, I know when I finally have time to work out, I want to work out and get my times worth. I reckon if you run beforehand for 10-15 minutes it will help.
I had a shocking week from wed-friday and wasn't able to look after my diet or exercise with family issues, so today its back to work. I had a great work out this morning, walked for 10 minutes, jogged for 15 and then did 20 minutes of step-ups, weights, and other weight exercises with my hand weights. I felt great afterwards, dripping sweat everywhere lol.
I may have cracked the 90kg step... I've been hovering around it 100gm either side all week.... :D I was 95 when I started things a month ago...
hey Christy - hoping you can recover from having to deal with family. Hoping you smash that 90kg ;)
Sleep deprived again (thanks DD2). She was great the first week of the challenge, but has gone down hill. It is affecting me quite badly. I just lack energy and have to have a nap in the arvo (so there goes work out time). Also she become so irrational, that is makes dealing with food quite hard. I had been brilliant at not eating there food, but today with her attitude, of having a nibble of something before rejecting it multiple times, meant I could not just throw it all. Hopinh one muesli bar wont kill me.
Anyway back on track tonight. Swapped the lamb steaks, for a roast (what we could afford). It is smelling pretty good right now.
Well, no exercise for me until I'm feeling better, been stuck on the couch yesterday and today with a headache and hot/cold shivers. Hope it goes away soon.
I'm here, will pop on comp for personals in the morning, hope everyone is well.
Sent from my iPhone, more than likely while I should be doing something else!
Hi! Well scales down 0.4kg for me so slow slow but moving....Astrid seriously impressed with your households numbers!!!!
Crappy week and hoping to head out to the gym later to get some happy hormones moving. xx
Sorry ladies am in the middle of DP's paperwork, DD1 has fallen asleep after kinder and DD2 is like a kid on a mission nagging for food and being totally feral.
I hope your all doing well, sorry i haven't had much chance of personals, we've been glat stick and i've pretty much been on my phone.
Got on the scales for 1MKC this morning and i was 92 even so basically 300g down from last week but i will weight in tomorrow morning and see what happens as it will be a weel form my BB weigh in, i want to get those extra 2kg GONE by my b'day next week.
Going out for dinner with some gorgeous BB ladies next week, will be a good night i hope and probably a naughty one with a few drinks and possibly a slice of cake.. but you still have to live right :)
Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend!
The 12wbt starts for me today and I'm making sure that I'm behaving. About to go and get Lunch sorted and make an early start on dinner.
I weigh in on Wednesdays and I'm hoping for a loss this week as I've been sitting at the same weight for at least 5 weeks now. It's so frustrating, especially when I'm still so big and have so much weight to lose.
Fingers crossed for a good result on Wednesday.
ZF congrats on your loss! Good luck getting those 2kgs off by your birthday. I'm sure you'll be able to do it.
Have a great week ladies! I'll pop back after my weigh in and let you know how I went.
Today's weigh in was great! I was 90.0kg exactly. I was less yesterday and Saturday, but I'm going off of today's weigh in. That was 1.2kg this past week. I'm glad to see what I can maintain with life going on around me. I hope to never be over 90.0kg again. Yay!!
Well done Christy!!!!!!
