Migraine, the headache for days.. Can't cope much longer

I just want to cry and rip my head off.

I had a migraine of Sunday which I ended up in the ED for oN a fluid drip and maxalon cause I couldn't keep anything down.. The fluid surprisingly helped a bit but couldn't stay there long because of kids and dh work so asked to leave.

Since then it's constant headache, I had a few hrs of bliss the other night when mum dropped of some tramadol but it came back.

I have tried massage, have chiro booked for tonight and dr app in a couple of hrs but I just can't cope with the constant thumping and aching.

I need it to go NOW... My stomach can't tolerate many more days of popping Panadol and aspirin I'm sure 5 days straight of well to be honest more the the recommended dose as I'm desperate.

3 kids and headache don't work.

I take Imigran. IM, or tablet. Obviously it's prescription for migraines.
Or i've been to hospital a few times too. A dose of fluids and maxalon and usually Fentynal. Then a day of lying down.

You need to seek proper help. It's there for these times when you need it.

Sounds awful. I get cluster migraines that can happen daily for weeks at a time. I find that a heat pack on my face, head and massaging around the temples can ease the pain. Sometimes I find chocolate helps but in some people chocolate can exacerbate migraines. I really hope the chiro and dr can help you.

At the dr's now in the waiting room....

Ooo, ask to go to a dark room. they do that at my dr. They are so nice when you say you have a migraine (and usually throwing up!)

Dr thinks its hormone withdrawal related to a new pill I'm on for my acne. Apparently the Dianne pill has a special type of progesterone in it I'm reacting too.

1st migraine wax two weeks ago two days after the sugar pills started and this one started when I forgot and missed two pills.

Worst thing is I started it again Monday when I realized I missed it so will have to go through withdrawals again :( want to cry so bad thinking about what's to come.

He did give me some strong tramadol scripts to help me through it but it means I will be stoned or in pain for the next few days...

Oh the chiro was great...

Had some X-rays done as well, my neck is massively out of wack!!!! I could see it myself. Heading back on sat for another adjustment.

Glad you got to the bottom of it. I had severe headaches from a curtain pill I was on years ago. It was a little stronger than the others and used to have me on the floor in tears everytime AF came.
I'll take being stoned over being in pain any day! Hope you feel better soon xx

Items in my migraine defense arsenal are as follows:

Nurofen plus - (Only good if you can keep a biscuit down with it otherwise it'll come back up)
Panadol
Gigantic hot/cold gel pack (used cold of course)
Lavender (either oil or the real deal)

Some things I do in conjunction with my various 'weapons' -
Get horizontal as much as possible.
Keep lights and noise low (I know this is hard with kidlets, but do what you can)
Ridiculous amounts of fresh air and water.

Sometimes a caffeine hit helps me. Actually most of the time. I take all my painkillers with coke (naughty I know) but it helps them dissolve faster and the sugar and caffeine rush always gives me a boost. An old coworker of mine used to swear by mersyndol (sp?) he said it was stronger than nurofen plus.

HTH And massive :hug: for you. Migraines are vicious, and having one hang around for days is nothing less than brutal.

Oh, I forgot- this co-worker of mine also showed me some pressure points to help alleviate the pain. Imagine you are wearing a blindfold. Everywhere that blindfold would touch is where you want to rub. Put your fingers each side of the bridge of your nose, then move up a bit higher to between your eyes. Push that area together in a pinching type motion. Not too hard though lol. Also, tap your eye-socket area. Above the cheekbone, right below your eyes. Follow along the entire length of the bone. Tap rhythmically and with reasonable pressure. Tap along your brow bone as well, the same as below. Rub your temples, but be pretty gentle as that can hurt a lot if you really pulverise the area. If you can't get a neck rub, do it for yourself. You can lie down with a tennis ball under your neck (sounds weird but is nice) to provide pressure on certain points. Push your fingers into the base of your skull, and put your hands around your neck (like a reverse strangle) so your fingertips are at the back and your thumbs at the front. Push in around your spine and put your fingers directly on it and rock side to side without rubbing.

I take a disolvable aspirin and codeine tablet cos if i have a migraine, tablets and capsules come back up. Caffeine helps cos it dilates the blood vessels. Also try having cold pack on your head and your feet in water as hot as you can handle, it tends to help with the thumping.

I actually feel awesome ATM... Tramadol and chiro seems to have worked

I'm so scared to go off the pill though and go through the withdrawals though :(

So its started again as I had to stop the pill..

and My heads going to explode, i hope this doesnt go on for days. I have my cousins wedding to go to on Sat.

This is a joke, hormonal contraception is the pits of my body. I cant deal with this, it nothing like a headache, them i can handle this is a raging explosion in my head.
