If she had of looked closer she would have seen they were not wearing the exact same outfit.

My boys are 4 and 1 and I'm loving the fact that DS2 is now out of the "baby" clothes and can shop in the boys section so I can buy them matching outfits, they have matching jarmies too :)
My girls often wear very similar outfits.
They both have their own personalities and i don't do it on purpose but it's often jeans, black boots, striped long sleeve & they both have the most gorgeous THICK RED WARM jackets....
DP says "don't dresse them the same" but it's not on purpose and DD1 often picks her own clothes.
Who cares what anyone else says, it's far from cruel, not dressing them at all or putting them in unwashed, smelly & holey clothes would be cruel.

I always give my Mum stick about dressing us the same when we were younger, but really it was cute and I know I'll likely to be just as bad. When you're little you like to look the same. It's only once you get older that you hate it, or at least that's how me and my sisters were.
Oh dear.....there are so many things in the world that are cruel but dressing your kids the same doesnt rate as one of them....
Pfft, they're dressed! There are much, much worse things than looking similar to your sister. Did she even give a reason why it's apparently cruel?
I know two little girls who love dressing the same, it's adorable. I also know two girls who couldn't care less how their mum dressed them, so they're often in similar clothes and they're far from scarred by it!

I dress DS1 and DS2 the same! But hard finding different outfits when they both wear the same size! (DS1 and 2 both in sz 10 shoes, size 5 tops, size 4 bottoms and size 5 pj's) dh first was like oh no, but now knows they like being dressed the same or similar, but we do get those comments or asked if their twins often.
Most of the time my girls are wearing different things one loves bright pink and black the other purple but occasionally they get the same outfits and they love it, I think it's cute. More often they will both have a Minnie mouse clothes on but in different styles. We get the twin comments too even though they are 2 years apart.
My boys are often dressed the same BECAUSE they want to be, I often have to buy same clothes for them as we have dummy spits if they dont have same! I have no issue with it, and also DS1 will pick a top and DS2 will go to find same or similar eg both mickey mouse or wiggles or same colour)
I'm a big disliker of dressing kids the same. Can't pinpoint why exactly but it just doesn't sit right with me.

Me too. BUT beating your kids with a stick is cruel, dressing them the same is not. That's a pretty dumb thing to say to you. I can't believe some of the things people think are OK to comment on.:
I don't think it's cruel. My Mum dressed us three girls the same when we were little - mainly because she had a bolt of fabric shipped to the small coral atoll we lived on in the Solomon Islands and made several outfits from the roll. I reeeeaaaaly didn't like being the same as my sisters from the age of around 3. But if you like it and they like it go for it. :)
Meh, I've done it. Back when the girls were little they had a couple things the same. Often if one wore something the other would ASK to wear it too. Just because they liked that item.
Even now they both have a dress the same. They're 10 & almost 7. If they choose to wear them on the same day, I wouldn't care! They are at an age now where its THEIR choice. They were both with me when I bought the dresses & were both happy, even though DD1 hates DD2 copying her.
I also used to buy the same outfit, but in different colours. & I still do that on occasion. Again, sometimes they just choose to wear the same thing. And even as young as 2, they can make that choice!
I used to love when my cousin and i dressed the same when we were younger, we used to try and tell people we were twins....pity we were blonde and brunette and tall and short...:lol:
I don't like kids dressed the same either TBH but seriously, this is an issue why???? Silly woman.
My girls like very different things, and with their different colouring suit different colours, but every now and then they will both choose the same thing. If that's what makes them happy then I just accept it.
Just wondering though. Does that make us very, very cruel when not only do we dress our children the same as each other, but also the same as every other child in their school class???

My sister and I used to love wearing the same clothes. Whenever possible my BROTHER would get in on the fun. I'd love for that woman to have seen our family....:
Lol my boys (7yo & almost 2yo) love it when they match. Also I knew some twins who when then were growing up deliberately wore the same clothes, just to play tricks on people! Lol
My girls pretty much pick their own clothes everyday, I just add or take off what I see appropriate for weather/place sort of thing. If DD2 sees what DD1 has picked she will generally want the same or something very close. It really has never crossed my mind at all that someone would ever think that if my girls were dressed the same or similar that it is cruel. Maybe she had to and only has bad memories. I also wonder if she would be inclined to think that 90% of what DD2 wears DD1 use to wear?
Oh well, like I said, wont stop me or my girls as long as we are all happy, I don't give two hoots what she or anyone thinks.

My sister and I used to like dressing the same when we were little and we would love it when people mistook us for twins (even though I was 2 years older and a whole head taller, but it happened quite often anyway...)
