ETR
Just wondering, since the ETR automatically gets paid this year, Am I entitled for DS?
We're in WA & kindy is compulsory for 4 year olds. He's only 2 days a week til next term. By 4th term he'll be 5 days.
Kindy is part of all primary schools over here with the same costs as it is for the girls.
-
It goes by age so if he is 5 before 31st of July then he will be entitled, otherwise not until next year.

ETR
-
Oh wow, so because DS is 5 on the 28th of July, we get the ETR? That is going to be SO handy! Will cover his kinder fees for the entire year. I certainly wasn't expecting any form of payment until just now when I logged into my online services and saw a future payment in there for it. I came in here to see if I was being paid something I wasn't entitled to....

Schoolkids Bonus
the qualifying date for the current financial year was actually Budget night (May 8) - so Niadalla, you miss out sorry babe
-
BG - It's listed in my payments in my C/L online services. Says $409 ETR to be paid June 20.
-
well there ya go - so much for the info online huh?
i have been processing unrelated stuff so was just going by what was on the website - i haven't researched this one myself except for tonight
ETA - i don't think you're entitled to it if DS isn't 5 til July though - this is one of those situations where i'd ring and check - i'd hate for you to spend it then get a debt
-
ETR
It won't show til 2 days before it hits the bank, like most lump sum payments, yeah??
-
-
What are the qualifying criteria to receive this? DD is in pre-school and turned 5 on 9th May. Could we be eligible to get this?
-
Don't worry found the answer.
-
Tried FAO today for a few hours - they are obviously flat out.
My Online services also updated - to saying that it's been paid into my account!! It hasn't shown yet in my bank account but I'll keep an eye on it. Will try FAO tomorrow afternoon when I get home again... I should be calling FAO shouldn't I??
-
I thought it was only if your child was grade 1 or above - I'm sure I remember our accountant saying we didn't qualify under the old scheme, even though we pay private school fees. Would love to be wrong and have it be purely by age - DD1 was 5 on 2 May and is in pre-primary. Would be a very nice little surprise if we qualify!
-
I was entitled for DD2 when she was in kindy (NSW) she was 4, turned 5 on June 5, so LuluHB, you should be entitled.
DS isn't 5 til next March.
-
For this year, your child has to have turned 5 by end of july and be a qualifying ftb child on budget night
-
-
Does this apply to pre-school or does the child have to be in prep or above?
-
Thou had to be eligible for ftb on may 8, and have a child born between August 1,2000 and July 31 2007 (from memory) to qualify for primary payment. It may be 2001 and 2007 as the years. I'm in bed. Too slack to go looking tonight!!
-
so does this mean i don't need to lodge a tax return this year? i don't work and only lodged a tax return kast year for the ETR
-
never mind just rechecked centrelink and the payment is in there for friday only checked it yesterday so must have been updated overnight
-
So BG, ALL children who are 5 before July 31st are just automatically deemed as primary school children and paid the ETR? I'm on hold on the FAO but it's told me I could be waiting for 90 minutes and I have to leave home in 30.... so I doubt I'll get to speak to anyone.
-
DS was 5 on the 3rd of june, ive checked my centrelink online and it says nothing about a future payment :(
-
It could be paid anytime from the 20th to the 29th of June and will only show up 2 days before processing so still plenty of time.
And yes, Niadalla, it goes off of age so if your child is 5 by July 31st this year then you are eligable as long as you meet the other criteria for the payment.
-
Oh cool! I just saw we were getting this payment in centrelink and checked our account and it was in there...ds1 is 5 on 18th july so missed to qld cutoff for school by a few weeks and thought they must have mucked this up but obviously not....well that's a good surprise then!
-
Does any one know if you need to have your tax returns up to date in order to receive the payment? My return for last year is just about to be submitted as I had BAS backlog and needed to get it finished before submitting tax...
-
You have to be ftb current (receiving payments or at zero rate). If you normally do a separate claim each year you will have to wait until you do your 11/12 tax.
