Oh I love Thalia!!!!
I had friends who were identical twins called Silvie and Sadie. Awesome name.
Thay-lee-uh is cool, but according to my name book, it almost rhymes with failure. Am I overthinking it?
Don't you dare!
Only because it is pretty much a definite here  It was DH's nan's name and I love it.
I know a couple of Tahlias, not sure about Sadie though - I'd constantly get that song stuck in my head!
I had a dream I had a baby girl the other night and I called her Tilly. I really like it!
Yes, it makes me think of the song.
I actually read Thalia as Tahlia, which I'm not a fan of but really like the pronunciation of Thalia and don't think it rhyming with failure is a problem.
I don't like anything and I love Sadie :D
I've never heard of a song with Sadie in it and I'm not a massive fan of your other names so it's a winner for me
I love Sadie. I think as time goes on, less and less people will even know of the connection to the song. Neighbours of ours had boy/girl twins last year and named the little girl Sadie and it's just beautiful. It's a shame it wasn't used more I think.
I love the name a friends DD is Sadie. When she first told me her name I did think of the song but was just a short term thing in my head! Its a gorgeous name!
I think Sadie is lovely but I prefer Azariah
Sadie!
Sorry, I responded way fast because I was too flipped out about you name-stealing! ;)
Pretty sure we're going with Sadie. Just need to settle on a middle name.
I actually love Eila. I know a little Eila, I love her name, and I think it sounds awesome with your DD's name.
Sadie is actually short for Sarah. According to my 88yo grandma. And she should know ;)
I'm sure there's room in the world for 2 more Sadies :p
I like it too
sorry but how do you pronounce Eila? I like the look of it but just cant get it in my head :shakehead:
Same as Isla... eye-luh.
Thankyou for clearing that up, it make so much sense now lol. I Love it!!
Love love love Sadie!
If you can't get past the song reference you could always try Haidee. It was a favourite had this bubs been a girl. I do like Sadie too though and think the song reference would come up, though prob not as often as you think.
I did think Sadie for DS if he were a girl - but then realised that Zaidie is just a family mis-spelling of Sadie (name was supposed to be Sadie, only my ancestors couldn't spell). Sadie Zaidie would just sound silly.
And what's so wrong with the song?
Only old people will think of the song ;) I like it!
I think azaria has more connotations to be honest so I wouldn't go there. And I'm not a fan of Thalia at all.
I think Sadie is much nicer than Azariah. The history of the name Azariah doesn't bring positive thoughts for many Auatralians.
Actually my favourite from your list is Zahara!
I love zahra! I hate Thalia cause yes I hear failure when I say it out loud. I don't mind Sadie but yes I totally hear the song. But that's the same as Alice, Alice who the ....... Is Alice.
I hate naming children :)
I really like Sadie but I think it clashes a little with your DD1s name... but I am weird and don't like to have the same "ending" with siblings for some reason! I did also think of the song but not sure that is necessarily bad, associations like that pass quickly as you get to know the person. I really love Azaria but think Eila is my favourite from that list, especially next to your DD1s name :)
I love Sadie! DD has a Sadie in her class at kinder and I think it is a really lovely name. In fact, I really want her to become friends with this girl so I have have the name around!
FWIW, I am very familiar with the song but I have never once had it pop into my head when it comes to using the name. I think the song is old enough for it to not be a problem anymore. Even if kids work it out and as time goes on, there will always be something to tease about when it comes to names, always. Could be worse!
I like your list :)
I went to primary school with a Sadie - no one ever mentioned the song then :)
I really like Sadie!
Azariah I've already said somewhere else I'm not a fan.
Zahara is nice but it just scream "Brangelina" to me. And it's too similar for my liking to Zara, which is increasing in popularity in leaps and bounds...
I love Thalia, I know 2 girls with this name but they both pronounce it tha-lee-a.
I also love Sadie, my cousin named her little girl that.
sent from my watzamajig so may not make sense....
i like the spelling Isla better so voted Eila
