Just for fun, when I was having my 12 week scam today I asked the lady if she could see any indication of the sex of bubs. She had a bit of a look and said if she were to guess at this point she would say 51% boy. Of course, I'm in no way expecting that it will be a boy (I honestly don't care either way), but im just wondering if anyone has had what was guessed at their 12 week scan to actually eventuate?

12 weeks they guessed boy.
DD is 4 weeks old on Saturday.
Got told 90% chance of girl at the 12 week scan and yep was a girl

12 week scan said a boy, we could see his bits and all lol :D
25 Weeks along and definitely a boy....
13 week scan said boy. Confirmed at 20 week scan :) They gave me a lovely "money shot" to convince me lol
At 12 weeks they don't generally look for a vagina or testicles/penis, they use a technique where they determine the angle between the genital "nub" and the direction of the lower portion of the spine. If the sonographer is experienced the rate of success is a little over 80% at 12 weeks.
My husband found out our last baby was a girl at our 12 week scan and had it confirmed at 16 weeks and 20 weeks (and probably again at 24 weeks, haha), and she certainly is a little girl :) I had no idea during the entire pregnancy if she were a boy or girl though. Hubby is good at keeping secrets ;)
Oh, our sonographer told hubby he has a success rate at 12 weeks of 80% so warned him that 1 in 5 times he gets the gender wrong. Lucky for DH he got it right hehe
We were told at 12w 5 d that DD2 was a girl. Sonographer told me 90%... but that she would bet her left leg it was a girl!
Yep we were told boy. And sure enough boy :)
Hmmm it'll be interesting to see how it turns out then. We were given a photo which shows what she thinks is the 'bits'. Like I said, I'll be happy either way, but it'll be interesting at the next scan anyway :)
My brother was told at 12 weeks that his child was a boy, they were right.
I have picked girls on 12 week scans before and been right (I have a bit of experience with girls)
Maybe it's easier with boys - we were told with DS the sonographer was 80% certain it was a boy! He was right.

yep, I was told with my last 2 they were boys. I actually have a ultra sound pic of them on my facebook if you want to see to compare?

My U/S tech wouldnt guess at 12 weeks and my ob just laughs and says nothing when I see bubs on the screen and ask him. I have my 19w U/S on 22nd so time will tell...
The guy that performed my u/s at 12 weeks with DD hinted girl (although he said he wasn't allowed to tell us the gender, he was kind enough to hint lol) and of course he was correct. My sister had the same at 12 weeks as well as a good friend of mine. Girls each time :)
I didn't think to ask last time either. This time, I thought I'd try my luck. I'd have no chance looking at pics and guess (although I did attempt last time). The lady actually had to take a look 'down there' to try to work it out.:
At my 12 week scan with DS I asked and the lady screwed up her face at me :o LOL so I am a bit reluctant to ask again. Strangly enough, last time DH told me I was having a Boy and refused to discuss girls names - pretty much not until 30ish weeks until I pestered him. This time he thinks it's a girl ;) His Mum's a bit "sensitive" though so I think perhaps he might be a little the same....although he would never admit it :rolleyes:
