My brother and sister both have one, and apparently they aren't painful - my sister tells me the tops of her feet were much more painful.
I had the top of my foot done last summer and it was painful enough to put me off anay more until now  so that makes me very happy to hear :)
My wrist one hurt like a mother "lover" and bled accordingly. It may have been the location, it may have been the artist not knowing what she was doing. In any case, I hate it. The ink has bled out a little, but not as much as the one in my leg. Here's a photo of my wrist:

So, it has come to this.
i have one on my wrist ankle and am currently getting my back done.. my back hurt more then the others!
I've got one on my left wrist probably 2cm x 1.5cm and it was painless.
I've also got one on the top of my right foot which is at least 4x the size but I didn't find too painful.
If I did compare the 2, wrist was definitely easier. I'd think it may be too detailed for that size but I'm no tattooist so they may see differently.
Good luck :)
You've seen mine, it didn't hurt, it was actually quite relaxing. Had it re-inked when they finished off the outlining on huge one on my back (so on first session, after 2 1/2 hours of back being done), it was actually really calming and relaxing to have the slight pulling on the inside of the wrist after the almost passing out pain of the back.
My bestie has words circling her wrist and she said it wasn't painful.
I have nothing to compare it to as that's all I've had. But tbh I thought it was fine :)
Has anyone else had their wrist tattoo bleed? My one is so detailed if it bleeds it will just look ****, I'd rather not bother if that is likely and I'll find another location
ETA I mean the ink bleeding, not the tattoo itself which I fully expect to bleed lol
Wrists are ok (can be really painful if you've got very skinny wrists without much padding on the tendons) but def not as painful as the side of the foot.
Wrists and feet don't tend to wear well and the designs are much more prone to blurring / bleeding out as they're high movement areas and I'd say that design is too detailed for the size you want. It could be done but wouldn't look the best after a few years.
Bend your wrist. Where it creases can bleed. Where it doesn't shouldn't.
Yep the design is a bit too detailed for a wrist :) It is awesome by the way :)
hmm where else could I get it done? I know the obvious location is over my heart but TBH I'm not up for that, and my ribs was my other thought but again I don't love the idea
Shoulder blade? Between then towards the lower part of your neck? Calf or lower thigh. The outside forearm.
calf and lower thigh are out due to the fatness, and my empty shoulder blade is reserved for another design. Outside right forearm could work but would it look weird there? Maybe inside left arm could work. Hmm, decisions, decisions...
Sush has tattoos on both outer forearms I don't think they look weird at all. And yeah inside upper arm always looks awesome too. Basically... ANYWHERE!
Lol I didn't mean a tattoo there would look weird, more that particular design in combination with my current tattoos. Might have to get someone arty to draw it on a few places so I can decide :D
Could you get it on the back of your neck, below your hairline?
I could, that's a definite maybe Lime :)
Do you have an artist in Melbs?
DH has each of the kids handprints on his wrists (DDs was only done yesterday), he didn't think it was that painful (it only took about 40 mins though)
That's a cool design. Perhaps if you get white lines either side of the black ut would help stop the bleeding. It will bleed in time/ stretch whatever so maybe a little bigger?
on the calf would look cool or inner arm
Sorry if it doesn't make sense, the barefoot princess is covering me with kisses
What about just up from the wrist on the inner forearm?
My wrist 2676 didn't hurt at all and it's been done twice.
2677
Butterfly is the new bit. Hurt for a few days after but think that was the position I was sitting in
I asked boytwin and this is the place he suggested too, it is probably my favourite suggestion atm
Lime, I go to a custom studio in Geelong. They are all very good and happy to say no if you are asking for something they don't excel in, so I'll find out from them who is the best person to do fine lines and hopefully I can get it done local.
Just make sure whoever you go to is good with fine lines. I've seen some very reputable tattooists blatantly refuse to do finer detail in case of bleeding or because they are pompous and don't believe in anything but old school line thickness.
I am a bit concerned about that. My regular tattooist doesn't outline tattoos a lot of the time, hence why I like his style, but when DH went to get some lettering on his knuckles he refused to do it and referred him to someone else instead (in the same studio) so that does reassure me that he will say no if he's not confident to do it.
