Spew, spew, spew!
The thought of any food in general makes me feel so sick to my stomach!! I don't even want to attempt to eat anything and I have no appetite whatsoever.
Anyone else in the same situation?
I want to use ginger to ease the MS but I love ginger so much I don't want to ruin it for myself post pregnancy. :o :o
I just feel BLURGH!!!
I suppose this is just a rant really, had to get it off my chest.

 I feel for you rustygirl. If you don't want to start with ginger, have you tried Pyroxin (B6)? That is what the GP has recommended I have on hand to attempt before I start medication, for nausea anyway. I think he's kidding himself for me but it might be a bit of help for m/s. I hope your m/s eases soon though

I was exactly the same with my DD. I didn't eat a proper meal for about 20 weeks. I ended up losing 15kgs in the first 12 weeks.
I ended up getting maxalon as the doctor was worried about my weightloss which really i benefited from it. I had no appetite though for the whole pregnancy and had to force myself to eat.

Blackmores has a morning sickness formulation that contains both ginger and b6 in the dose found to be effective by the Women & children's hospital here in Adelaide. The trick is to take them several times a day, everyday, the effect builds up.
It also helps if you can keep your blood sugar up, so nibbling on a cracker (such a cliche I know) does help.

Thanks for the replies ladies. I am still struggling.....Cooked spag bol for the fam last night. They are lucky it just had mince and veggies in it an not spew!! lol Gross I know but I was gagging the whole time whilst cooking it.(the kitchen still smells of it this morning cause my dear husband didn't do the washing up last night like he usually does ) Even the taste of water makes me feel sick! WHAT THE? I seem to be loving anything citrus....oranges, lime, lemons and mandarins. Might buy a whole bunch and just go nuts. Oh and peaches!!! YUMMY!!!!
I have just started as of today "Herbs of Gold" morning sickness relief. My neighbour gave it to me. She just had her baby 5wks a go and had a whole un-opened bottle in her cupboard. (love my neighbours!!!) Hopefully I see some results. I am fair over feeling hung over.

i used to sip on a mix of half juice (orangey) and half ginger ale. kinda like punch and sip slowly over the day.
hope it doesn't last too long.

I used to put a slice of lemon in ice cold water. Helped me tolerate it better. The smell of tap water made me sick (yes, it does smell!) So I drank bottled water through my entire first pregnancy. I couldn't drink anything else.
I couldn't eat much either. I lost too much weight in the first half of 3 of my pregnancies.
Nothing helped for me, but there are plenty of things you can try :) Have you tried ginger beer? I'm not a fan at all, but it helped me a little on occasion. (Severe ms, so not much helped)
-
You poor love. Plain water made me gag as well. I also put heaps of lemon in it - and lived on those sour lemon sherbets, salty crackers and two-minute noodles for the first 15 weeks. I thought I'd like ginger beer but nope, too sweet I think.
Berocca was a godsend in the mornings. I also kept crackers on my bedside table and forced a couple down before I got up. That really helped.
Hope it eases up soon.

OK try this... worked a bit for me, and since you like the citrus should be tasty too!... You can do home made lemonade, worked OK for me! Also water or plain mineral water with LOTS of ice (doesn't hurt to chew/suck a bit also) and many slices on lemon/orange! yum yum Ginger beer also worked.. but you have to like the taste of it!
Choc chip bikies also worked in the morning!. Hope it passes soon!

I am still sick but it has eased it. Best advice I have is chewing gum all the time! I take it out put food in swallow and then re commence chewing gum. Not sure if it's the mint or the actual chewing but it's the only thing after I tried barley sugar which worked for a bit.
-
I hope it doesn't last too long for you  Some good suggestions here, hope the neighbours stuff helps! That kitchen in the morning would have killed me
-
I feel your pain sweet! I had horrid morning sickness until 26 weeks and couldn't keep ANYTHING down, even water. I ended up on hospital twice :(
I lived on icy poles, oranges and ice.
Hope you improve soon love xxx
-
Thanks ladies.....still little to no relief. The chewing gum seems to help the most so thank you Joeve. Icey poles seem to work for a little while too....6 in a row today lol! Still had a spew

Spew, spew, spew!
Watermelon and nectarines were my life savers. I could always keep them down :) however I did have to use prescription meds as I dehydrated too quickly. But like one of the pp I drank heaps of mineral water/ soda water and ended up getting a soda stream so I could make my own. I also made my own cordial for it so I knew what was in it.
Hoping it goes away for you soon.

How far along are you now rustygirl?
-
oh yeah mineral water.....thanks ryatha for the reminder! I drank some the other day and It was amazing!!
I am nearly 8 wks willow :D

Did you have the ticker yesterday? lol Sorry if you did and I asked how far along you are  Well congratulations! I really hope the sickness goes away soon!
-

i had really awful morning sickness this pregnancy. i didnt enjoy eating or feel hungry at all for ages. but the one thing that my midwives kept drumming into me, was protein! so every morning i would hardboil an egg and eat that as quickly as possible. i also got hard cheddar cheese and would force down slices of that when i could during the day. mushrooms i could also do when they were sliced and gently fried (easy to shove in and swallow).
I also went to a health food store and bought high quality ginger tablets and took 3 of those a day as well as a plant/food based prenatal (but not sure if you can get them here in OZ...i was in the US at that time and so brought back supplies!), but is worth checking out as when i made the switch i swear that it helped!
also did the seabands on the wrists. never took them off for the whole time that i felt rotten (and they did help in taking the edge off).
i really feel for you, it was the pits :( and in the US it was impossible to get your hands on any anti-nausea meds lol. i even begged  but nup, nada, zip, zilch lol wouldnt give me anything lol.
-
Oh HUN!!! YAY!!!! I didn't even know you were preggers again, FX for a sticky bub xxxx
I hope the MS gets better soon x
-
Oh I might try the hard boiled egg thanks Cassius
Thanks The cookie Doctor :) I have a feeling this one is sticking round.....so sick lol!
-
I hope you feel better soon. I have been getting a 1.5 litre of bottled water, and chilling it, then adding the juice of 1 lemon. I find it refreshing, and nutrtious and I am drinking more water than normal. Also peeing more than normal....but I had bad MS with the beginning of this one, and ginger ale, and ginger beer helped. Also sugar.....fairy floss, sour lollies, bubble gum too...but was craving sweet sweet things too lol.......
Good luck and I hope something helps soon :)
