2012, The Year that has been & the year ahead - Share your thoughts/journey/hopes

For me 2012 has been a c**p year filled with sickness, and horrible events happening to friends and family. As far as I'm concerned, 2012 can kiss my rear end!!!
Crossing everything for 2013 to be a much better year.
Hoping for a positive outcome for my mum, stregthening old relationships and begining new friendships.
Its my last year before my baby starts school so sadly, while I have to go back to work, I will be treasuring those moments with her.
Other than that, just really going with the flow and hoping for a healthy 2013!

So, whats been good for you, what are you looking forward to in 2013? Lets spend some time and reflect. Even share any new years resolutions you may have :)

2012 has been a bit of a confusing year for me, career wise. I had a lovely plan and now I've had it tipped on its head due to a placement where I enjoyed myself more than I could have imagined. Now I'm not sure what to do but I'm hoping that a few things in 2013 will help me sort my mind out. I'm also hoping for a job (interview on Thursday) which slots nicely into my "sort out my mind" plan.

2013 is also the year my twins start school so I am excited and anxious about that in equal proportions. I'm also excited that no more daycare means we will finally not be scrimping to get by week to week. other than that I'm not expecting big things in 2013, for me 2014 will be the big year with finishing uni and finding employment.

2012 has been the worst year of my life with the loss of my mum, my nan and a very close friend.

My only hope for 2013 is that we all stay safe and well and my little man continues to make me smile.

This year for me has had many many challenges, but as the year went on it just got better and better. 2012 is the year I got what I wanted more than anything in the world and that is to parent a living baby at home.. Nothing beats watching your baby discover the world.. I'm so very lucky to have him here. Next year I am happy to do much of the same, just sit back and enjoy watching the miracle that is my son.

We've had a **** 2012, both health wise and personally, and can't wait to see the end of it. Having said that though I have also had some very amazing moments, and realised how lucky I am to have a special bunch of girls in my life. They totally blew me away this year, for which I will be eternally grateful. I love them all very much.

As for 2013 I will play it be ear. I need to look up a course I might be interested in doing. Would prefer to do said course online though so I can do it in my own time. I hope everyone close to me stays relatively healthy. I know my Mum will be having surgery soonish, but that is her choice and not because something is wrong and she has to have it. I could end up in Melbourne for a holiday at some stage too, but we'll have to wait until Andrew's work situation settles down. Been some cuts with more to come there. We think he'll be okay, but it hangs over us like a lead balloon.

2012 has been a fairly good year. Hard financially but I got to meet my baby boy who I had been waiting so long for. Watching him grow and learn has been amazing. Biggest lesson would have been to let go and embrace the inevitable.

2013 I feel will be a year of transition for us, new jobs hopefully beginning the journey to another beautiful baby. I am excited to see what 2013 has in store

What would I like to see happen?
Healthy pregnancy, healthy baby, healthy DS, DF and me.
Help for my mum.
DF to get the apprenticeship hes applied for and the pay to be reasonable.(might be asking a bit much there...)
Happiness for my friends, irl and online.

Eat healthier, budget better, learn to drive!!

2012 has been ok for us. Neither wonderful, nor terrible. Though more good, than bad. We have been in good health, and everyone has gotten through the yaer pretty well unscathed (except for 2 broken arms last month, lol!) I do know of alot of people who had really terrible year this year. My highlight would be making some amazingly awesome friends who are more like sisters. I now know the beauty of family support through these beautiful, thoughtful girls and their families.

I think this coming year will be really good for us. My DD goes to big school, my DS1 starts pre school and DS2 is in day care 2 days a week. I am starting back at uni after a few years off, and will have 2 6-hour child-free days to sort things out and catch my breath from the whirl wind of mummying! This coming year is also on the down hill for us with where we are living and DH's job. In about 16 months, we will be moving out of here (NSW out back) and going to our forever place (hopefully!). To buy a house and settle in for the long haul! I am really looking forward to it all!

2012 has seen me get married in march and conceive a honeymoon baby!
Only a few hours to see if the year brings a newborn or if bubs waits until 2013.
Quit my job of 9 years to be a stay at home mum with DS.
There have been lows, but Overall great year :) I am grateful.

2012 has been one of the hardest years with my ten yr old. We started him on antidepressants, he was informally suspended at school, I withdrew him from full time mainstream school. I had to hide my kitchen knives from him as he wanted to harm himself. It seen me loose faith in the education system. I felt let down by those around me in regards to his education.
2013, I hope to see him feeling happier, enjoying going to school, that the autism specific schooling programme will help him move forward with his education. I hope his yr five teacher is our saving grace and its smooth sailing.

2012 introduced my 8 yr old to a lovely teacher that connected with him ( having her own ash child who she said is so much like my boy was a blessing) and helped him feel good about himself. In 2013 he will have her again and I am so thankful she agreed to have him in her class again.

2012 was the first year of school for my DD. it was a good year for her I think, showed a few quirky things about her and showed us her strengths too. 2013 will be the start of apostive schooling experience for her, with friends and fun.

2012, for my 4 yr old ds added another dx of asd to the family. Was no surprise there. But it's been a positive year of early intervention and I already see the positive difference it has made. 2013 will see him start kindy which he is very keen to start.

2012 for my youngest has been as can be expected for any 1 yr old, learning to walk, talk, be independent. Also gave my first experience with ezcema. 2013 for him will bring clear skin and hopefully more speech development, if not it may lead to another round of speech pathology but that's just my normal.

2012 for me has been emotionally draining. Seeing my child in so much pain and hurt to the point of wanting to hurt himself is beyond words. This year has not been about me in anyway. I have gained weight, gained grey hairs, gained wrinkles. I have also gained friends and a peace with on myself about what being a mother means for me. Autism has become a major part of my life as a mother. I have accepted that. I have also accepted and embraced living in cairns. There were big plans that the in laws would be a presence in our lives but we have also accepted that, that simply is not the case. But that's ok as we are doing fine with out extended family.
For DH it also brought a dx of aspergers. I think he has accepted this, although I think he took some adjusting to accept his new understanding of himself and his life in general. It makes sense now, but I think he is still processing it all.

2013 will be more about me, I will have more time with four of my kids with at school or kindy, I will get in shape and strut my stuff and my stuff will turn heads and I will look in the mirror and love myself.

2012 was high highs and very low lows. I feel blessed to be finally pregnant on NYE! Bring on 2013!

I'm another with an "okay but not great" 2012. There have been some amazing things - Amelia continuing to grow into this fantastic little lady, discovering new things every day and sharing her life with me - but it's all tempered by the fact that my uncle died in August, we still have some financial things to sort out, I haven't achieved some things I wanted to... So, good and bad things evening out to a pretty average year on the whole.

I hope 2013 brings me another healthy baby, NO FAMILY DEATHS (seriously, it's been at least one a year 2009-12!), strength in my marriage, a bit more ease with money, and hopefully this time next year Ianto's grave will finally have a headstone (which ties into the financial stuff)

2012 has been... a "meh" kinda year.. flooded in march, lost 13 chicks all up from that...started distance ed, got screwed over by the place i was doing it for so it'll be starting from scrach here. my sister got engaged. my nan got sick. got two cats and realised who my real friends are and realised some of the one had lerking where worth so much more.

2013 well it's a write off in at least Jan. my nan will die. my uncle gets test results back for his lung - its eather going to be aspestous or athritus. DJ will start kinder. sister will have her engagement party...the rest of 2013 better not get any worse then 2011 type year or i will scream loudly and have a tanty. cant handle another 2011 type year...not now. not ever.

2012 brought me a new job, and eased our financial burdens. 2013 will hopefully bring us a healthy and happy new baby- arriving via peaceful, natural birth.

2012 has been wildly fun. Ending very differently to how it started, but fun all the way through. This time last year another baby was barely on my radar, and now here she is! Our little pop up blessing. 2012 was a great year for family, we've had visits from everyone and made peace with some important ones. Enjoyed what we have while we have it.

2013... Well, who knows? I'll just enjoy getting to know my littlest girl, and keep loving the adventures ith my big one. We have three really exciting holidays planned, and more renovations. It will be our fifth year in Brisbane and we have built a wonderful network of new friends here, so hoping to strengthen and enjoy that.

All in all, 2012 wasn't the worst year ever but am glad to say goodbye to it and hope that 2013 is a happier, healthier year for everyone.

Everything else about 2012 pales into insignificance. 2012 gave me two beautiful little girls who I'd given up hope of ever meeting :)

2012 for us has been the hardest year of our lives. DH lost his father in April and had to fly to Scotland alone for the funeral as I was 36 weeks pregnant. DS was born in May, we were sent home with a healthy and beautiful little boy. 9 days later our world came crashing down when we took DS into hospital with a suspected chest infection as he seemed to be struggling for breath only to be told he was in fact in severe heart failure. What followed was 9 weeks in hospital, 6 in intensive care, two open heart surgeries, three times his heart stopped and he was shocked back to life and three "you need to prepare for the worst" conversations with doctors.

The miracle of 2012 however is that we brought him home in August! He started feeding himself in October. October and November were marked by illness for our two year old. December saw DH's mum and brother fly from Scotland only to argue and nitpick an eventually leave early causing a major rift in his family. Not sure it will ever be repaired.

2013 will be the year we build our dream home. We will (hopefully) fall pregnant with number three, we will watch our beautiful children thrive and DS will continue to be stable- no surgery in 2013!!! 2013 will be our year!!!!

I'm very glad to see the back of 2012. It's was a year of dramas and troubles.

2013 is going to be a great, positive year that is a bit more about me. I've told DH that 2013 is going to be a "power year". He said that he's a little scared because he remembers the last one :)

My year was ok. Some big highlights and some extreme lows with the passing of my nephew. DH and I had some problems but seemed to finish the year just as strong as ever. I worked a miniminal amount which was nice (1-2days a week) which is the least I have ever worked. We paid our property of so currently would be debt free if I didn't still have a HECS debt. My work place has gone to s--t with the leaving of some fantastic older very experienced midwives to be replaced but some not so good younger midwives who think they own the place. Its been hard working there but I am lucky in the fact I don't work alot.

2013 I hope will bring me my next degree which I start in February (child and family health nurse) I got a scholarship so FX finances will be ok. Hopefully I pass my immunisation which I am struggling with and the next one is not as hard. I start a new job in March which I am hoping brings me some new friends in the area I now live in as I don't have very many. My eldest starts highschool and middle DD starts Kindergarten and baby child care. I know 2013 is going to be really tough with the studies and me doing all the school/daycare stuff as DH works away but I am so hoping to be rewarded when I only have to work school hours from 2014 onwards. Most importantly I just want us all to get out of 2013 happy and healthy.

I got through the year with me being healthy - my girls being happy and healthy - the first year of my exciting new job... There has been some low points but the main thing is u got through it with my girls....

2013 is going to be the year I grow confidence, be happy and really work hard to make positive healthy relationships and say good bye to those that don't fit into that image!

2012 was an emotional rollercoaster. Starting last Jan with a BFP, then severe ligament and muscle pain at 5 weeks pg! had to leave my work. Was on rest for most of pregnancy. Nearly had baby at 32 weeks. But that Aweful pregnancy gave me a beautiful baby boy!
DH shoulder condition seemed to get worse, but the doctors couldn't do anything.
Mum was diagnosed with diabetes, and although she did the course to manage it she often eats things she shouldn't and has been ill most of this year.
My sister had a gorgeous baby girl (she had given up hope of having a daughter)

Hears hoping for a healthy quiet 2013!

2012 has been a great year for us.
Starting off with a BFP in February after over three years of ttc. We were blessed with our second DD, arriving 1st November.
We had four weddings in 2012, commencing January then two in October and one in November, three of the weddings were family members.
My sister announced she was pg with her first baby.

2013 is set to be another great year for us.
DD#1 starts primary school in February
My little bro turns 30 in February
April/May we will meet my sisters first baby
My SIL will welcome her second baby in July
My DD#2 will celebrate her first birthday in November

Personally for me I hope to be able to:
(finances dependant) stay home for at least 12 months with DD#2. I am wishing to the universe almost daily for this.
I will commence the MB12WBT again (just signed up) and hope to continue to lose this weight I gained during pg and continue to work towards a healthy weight range, keep it off and work on my fitness.
For my DH to be rewarded for all his continued hard work and dedication to the company where he works
For our relationship to continue to grow strong
and good health to family & friends
