5 weeks with rainbow baby and some bleeding :(

Hi all,

i need some support and hope. I am about 5 weeks preg with baby # 3. i went to the docs yesterday and had a very postive preg test. We lost our dd2 last year due to a cord accident at 39 weeks and this is supposed to be our much wanted rainbow baby. I woke up this morning and had some red blood. i would call it light bleeding and it has definitely slowed down but not stopped. i am not really having any pain (just what i would call niggles that i have had in my past pregnancies) and the blood seems to be starting to turn brownish now with some specks of red throughout CM. My GP who i love is not working today but i called my ob who advised just to get the hcg bloods done that i was planning on today and saturday and hope for the best. i know that bleeding can be normal but it is just so typical for me to have a difficult pregnancy :(

:comfort::hug: Bleeding in pregnancy can be for so many different reasons. I hope that for you it has no impact on your baby. I have everything crossed for you. The waiting in horrendous.

i really hope everything is ok. sometimes bleeding happens and everything is ok. hope those hcg numbers keep going up for you.

I've had bleeding for all my pregnancies so there is still hope. Even when I was pregnant with DS I went for an ultrasound due to bleeding thinking I was 6weeks and they only could see a yolk sac but now he's now almost 8mths. It's scary and I guess the only thing that's reassuring is having an ultrasound to see how things are.

Thanks girls. I appreciate all your thoughts and hope! So the bleeding has def slowed down so I not get anything when I wipe (sorry tmi!). It's either pink or brown - usually a combination. My dh seems to think that the pink is more just residual from this morning given that it is much paler and no red. I have had no cramping or clots so just have to cross my fingers and pray! I get my hcg results for Tom. If I was miscarriaging would the results be high still I would they have starting dropping already today?? Just wondering if the results will give me any indication at all...

:hug: I cant answer your question as by the time I had bloods done all the hcg was gone. But I couldnt read and not send you a big gentle hug and loats of sticky vibes. Crossing everything your tiny one is safe and it is caused by one of the many other reasons some women bleed in pregnancy.

Hey chick. This must be a very stressful time for you. When I was pregnant with my rainbow i bled fom week 8 to week 18 continuosly. I know how stressful it can be. Try to not stress, i know it is easier said than done but it is important to try and remain calm.. You can message me if you want. I hope everything works out for you xx

Thanks chicks, for all you lovely messages. Well I am not holding out much hope. I have started bleeding quite a lot with some clots so I would say it is pretty much over :(
Waiting for my GP to call me to tell me where to from here nd what to expect. I am pretty sure that I also a a m/c last month as well (much earlier) so that makes two in a row. Zoxoxo

I know how stressful this can be, I also had bright red bleeds with each of my two pregnancies. Twice in each one, between around 5 and 8 weeks. My DD is now 2.5 and I'm 36 weeks with #2. So don't lose hope, though I know it's easier said than done. Best wishes xx

Just an update. Spoke to my GP and hcg bloods from yesterday were 1585 so pretty good for 5 weeks. I et my second test done tomorrow so thy will give a better indication. Not holding out much hope but can't say it a definite yet either xoxoxo

Well now I really don't know what to think! I had what I believe is a full mc in Friday morning. I can't describe it in any other way. To me, I can not imagine how a baby could survive the blood tht I lost. So I had hcg taken on thurs t it was 1585. Told by GP to get bloods done on sat anyway to confirm mc and she just called me with hcg result of 4004...I am so confused!! I mc the day before so there is no way it should have doubled. Honestly if that was not a mc I do not know what is! I had more bloods taken today so have to wait now - so confused and just want an answer :(

ThAnks so much girlies. Wil hopefully hear tomorrow. Diva - my GP suggested that it is possible that that it was a multiple preg but just have to wait for bloods to come back. Would say that if risen again that will see my ob for a scan. Ob Also called me today, he is not quite as positive as go (he's a bit of a realist!). He did get me worried that it could be eptopic :( I am more worried about this than if it was mc as it can potential damage our chances of conceiving again. Trying not to read into anything and just wait till tomorrow - seriously I would love one uncomplicated preg!!!

Nearly doubled again!! Level yesterday was 3400 not 4000 and today 6400!! So confused and trying not to be excited!

I am thinking like Diva too with the multiple pregnancy and that you may have very well MC but still have a baby tucked away in there snuggly growing. I really hope that there is for you. Are they planning on a scan for you anytime soon?

Don't have time to read all the responses, but when I had bleeding at 6 weeks the sonographer told me that they have had ladies with a huge amount of blood loss come in expecting the worst only to have everything a-ok. I hope this is the case for you :hug:

Thanks so much kazzo :) I am hoping to hear from my ob later today and that he will want me to come in for a scan in the next day or so. I am concerned about eptopic so if it is then want to get into it sooner rather than later. My GP is fairly convinced this is not the case given that I have no pain at all and my hcg is going up like it is. I have continued having morning sickness worse in the last few days as well so trying to be positive but not to much just in case xo

I bleed very heavily with this preg (27 weeks now) and have had 2 m/c before.
I had a subchrionic haematoma, which is what caused the bleed. Hopefully it's just that. It's still scary and stressful but at least it may not be a m/c.

That is good then. I hope you have a great little suprise waiting for you on at the scan. Your right if it is ectopic then knowing sooner rather then later is better. Yay for worsening MS though.

Booked in to see ob and do scan on Monday so fingers crossed. Ob and go not worried at all despite the bleeding and I am been told to just assume that I am still pregnant and treat myself as so!
