12WBT August 2013
Who is in this round?
DH has signed up :o
So I'm doing it too.
I lost 20 in round 1 this year, no more since (well I did, but then I put it back on ... most people lose weight when they get sick, I apparently gain it  )
I'm aiming to lose 15, but would love to drop another 20.
In terms of other measure-ables, I'm aiming to do the 10km Stampede in October (did the 5km last year) and I'd like to drop 2 dress sizes.
-
-
Thinking about it but I go away the 10th August so not too sure if I should ;-P
-
No official sign up, but will redo the menu plans that I have.
-
I'm tempted to do another round, but still tossing up whether its worth it or not for me.
-
I'm all signed up! My mum is doing round 2 at the moment, and is looking and feeling great!
I've had a few of the meals and they're delicious, so I'm quite looking forward to the meal plans.
My goal is to lose 20kgs. No idea how that weight will look on me, so may reassess later on :)
-
I've signed up! Need to lose 10 kegs lost 2 in preseason but had a baaaad weekend so far :(. I've done all my preseason tasks so far and can't wait for the rd to start!!!!
-
Kegs haha! Almost- silly tapatalk on iPad won't let me edit!!!!
-
Wll I definitely need a HRM and calorie counter for exercise? Just not sure how I squeeze another $100 out of the budget for something that isn't a necessity. Might get a chealy watch that takes pulse from HK or something.
-
I found a HRM handy, as it let me work approx what I was burning in an average workout and how hard I need to/or not to push myself (like when walking the dog). So I found it was not needed for every workout, but handy to put on every now and then. I did not get mine till about half way through the season and I was already getting results.
There are times I wish I got a pedometer instead (contemplating FitBit), just so I can see what I am doing on a daily basis outside of workouts.
-
-
woot!
will have to get them all in order tomorrow.
-
I'm seriously considering it but I go back to work the day it starts. Really worried about the time required to make the meals - I need quick and easy on work days. Anyone got some
Insight?
-
My mum just finished round 2, and said just about every meal was simple and quick to make
-
MG: most of the meals can be prepped and cooked in 30 minutes. Some friends of mine have ignored the lunches and just made doubles of the dinner and had it for dinner and then lunch the next day, reheated on medium in the microwave.
Some of the meals involve roasting pumpkin/beetroot/etc and so take longer - but you can check out the recipes at the start of the week and decide what you are and aren't prepared to do. ;)
-
Well I just signed back up after having last round off, this time it's a running program I'm focusing on, it shall be interesting I think.
Re the food, you can tailor your meals totally, so you can pick meals that have a shorter cooking time on nights that you are short of time, or swap for meals that are more suited to your families taste (happens here a lot!)
-
HRM arrived today, yay just need some batteries and I printed off all recipes today just need to sort out a folder. Still haven't had time to have a good play with the recipes, I don't really like muesli so need to work out really fast options instead.
-
I meant to print all the stuff out yesterday, but I totally forgot. In bed now with no plans of getting out any time soon.
-
It's freaking freezing PN, don't blame you I'm about to go to bed. No exercise here today, am thinking am going to have to wake up at 6 to JFDI.
-
Hey girls, just wanted to pop my head in and say good luck! I'm not doing this round but have followed the program last year, it's great if you trust in it.
-
Thanks Hunter Mum :)
Did my first workout this morning, woohoo! Enjoying the day's food so far, looking forward to dinner too, it looks yummy :D
-
Me too ReeRee! I cooked up the salad slightly because I don't like raw cabbage and it was yummy! Having a tea now to stave off the sugar cravings. Got up at 6 and did a workout and planning same tomorrow but am fighting a cold so will see how I'm feeling in the morning, might be afternoon instead after work.
-
I've still got about 200 calories left, but nothing simple to eat to chew through them... very tempting to just have an enormous glass of wine!
But I'm getting a nasty sore throat, so I should have some oranges.
Not a chance of getting exercise. I'm exhausted, just from work and getting there and back, and then to the shops.
I'm giving myself a break while I recover from this nasty flu.
I've bought some nice coriander and capsicum to go with the broth that some fabulously lovely BBers cooked and gave me :D
-
PN - how thoughtful and yummy for the broth gift! Hope you're feeling better :)
Tanstar good idea with cooking the salad a little, I think my dh would prefer it cooked a bit as well
Weigh in day today, how did we all go?
I'm down 700 grams woohoo! First time I've been under 80kg for a verrrrry long time, I'm pretty pleased :) and I'm proud that I've gotten up at 6 every day and completed mish's workout vids.
-
Yay ReeRee that is ace! I'm still the same weight but that is 1.4 down from the start of preseason, not surprised after the massive weekend I had!
I had a ****ul day at work so ran it off in blizzard conditions near the surf beach and smashed 420cals and 4kms! Booyah!!! Lucky too co dinner was at mums and she made a creamy a chicken dish with full cream cream! No rice and small portion for me but not too worried as I think I'm still under call for today.
My back is sore so I'm looking forward to stretches/yoga tomorrow, well am hoping that's what it means!!! Have a good night all! xxx
-
I wrote poo full hahaha edited it out, oops!!!
-
It was very thoughtful :)
I didn't get to weigh in today... might try for the morning.
-
How are you all going??? I'm 2.8kg down from when I joined, no exercise the last 2 days and dinner at mums tonight so probably over 1200 but don't really care as I need this to be sustainable and by eating "real" food occasionally but eating consciously and making those choices I'm choosing to not feel guilty about it but just to own the choice and move on itms?!?
Am going for a run tomorrow though, loving running and ran 9kms on Saturday!
Hope you are all well!
-
I'm about 2 down, but I haven't been to the gym a single time, yet. I've been sick, and work has been mental.
I have been walking more and tramming less to and from appointments and the station, though, but that's maybe an extra kilometre or so a day... but better than nothing, right?
I've also been pretty good with the eating - but have to be careful, otherwise I end up accidentally eating a man's size, as that's the recipes we're getting this time, for DH.
Slow but steady.
If I lost 15 all up this cycle, I'll be very happy.
-
Slow but steady is good PN and definitely something is better than nothing. It's really tough going when you work and to fit the exercise in, especially in this weather. Being sick is the pits so don't stress too much, hard to get mojo to exercise when you feel like kaka.
My exercising was bad this week - just Monday run and yoga and then nothing again until today but it really was one of those just awful weeks so I am being really careful not to put guilt on myself. I CHOSE to not get up because I needed the rest so if I consciously make that choice I own it more than if I beat myself up ITMS. I really feel like my thinking about food and exercise is shifting, I am not eating mindlessly, preplanning is ace - I have a gf coming from Melbs tonight and we usually eat all sorts of crap, but today I got a heap of things like popcorn, nuts, some procuitto etc. so that i feel like I will be snacking but at least it's healthier than cheese and bacon balls right?! I know I will probably blow out a bit but will see how I go.
I ran about 6.5 kms today, but only ate a banana before i left then headed to a party for DS and at half a egg and lettuce sandwich there and have since been feeling awful. Own fault for not grabbing some brekky when I was done.
Have a great weekend all and will chat soon xoxo
