Hi All
I am interested in finding out how many of you have/are having a Clomid baby or babies (any with twins?), and after how many cycles of Clomid it happened & how long you had been off the pill before starting Clomid?
Have heard of a few that fell after only 2 cycles. I've been off the pill for 17mths now, this is my 13mth TTC (had to wait 4 mths due to low B6 levels & Rubella live vaccine) & 2nd cycle of Clomid, fingers crossed.

I'm currently pg with a Clomid baby. I went off the pill in Jan 03, had 2 m/c, and started Clomid in Sep 04 (I think). Got pg on that very first cycle!

I was on the pill for 13 years and then went off it in Jan 04. I didn't get a period until April (first cycle of clomid) and then I did another one and then decided not to continue with the clomid as I had to take provera as well.....I had 1 period on my own and then we feel pregnant in Sept 04 (around the same time as Angel!)
I really didn't like taking provera and clomid - but would do it again in a heart beat as I think that it really helped our chances of getting pregnant. What I found really distressing (and I hope that this hasn't happened to you) was that I wasn't getting a period at all so we didn't even have a chance :( I had given up by October - and by the time I found out I was already 5 weeks pregnant and had no idea!

I fell pregnant on my second cycle of clomid 50mg.I can't remember how long I was off the pill for before I went on clomid though, if I had to guess I'd say it was about 2 years.My sister fell pregnant on clomid 50mg also and fell pregnant on her first cycle!My sister is 23 and I'm 27, but I also was diagnosed with PCOS meaning I don't ovulate at all so it was quite a surprise that I fell pregnant second time round!

19/24 cycles (off pill), got a BFP on 5th Clomid cycle (50mcg, CD4-8), 1st AIH/IUI cycle, were 4 follies, 2 viable (2 extremely close) Beta's quadrupled after 2 days instead of doubling every 2-3 days, singleton pregnancy... :-)

I have concieved twice on Clomid. First time on 50mg I conceived first cycle but unfortunately m/c at 8 weeks.
This time I conceived on the 4th cycle of 50mg of Clomid. Fingers crossed all ok

it was on my 2nd cycle of 50g clomid i fell pregnant after bout 20months of trying for my 2nd 1st was natural!

I fell pg on my second cycle of clomid (first cycle was 50mg, second was 100mg) with DS.
This time I've been taking 100mg clomid for 5 cycles (about to start 6th) and no luck yet. Hmm!
I had been off the pill for 8 months and not had a single AF before starting clomid the first time. Never had AF or used contraception since giving birth.
Babymuddle, clomid is used to make you ovulate. Usually you have to take a course of provera (progesterone) first to bring on AF, and then you take clomid for 4 or 5 days depending on your FS. I take it CD5-9.
The brand Clomid is around $33 I think, and the generic brands are a bit cheaper (around $27 from memory).

i fell 1st times both times on i took clomid. 1st baby misscarried at 5weeks and now i'm 13 weeks preggie.
It is cheap - i got 2 months worth for about $30. i have PCOS and was also on met.

We're having a clomid baby too!
We were TTC for 35 months since going off the pill. We had unexplained infertility. I had a history of fibroids, but these weren't seen to be a problem...
Tried 1 cycle of clomid (50mg) at 35 months TTC and got my first BFP ever!!! I'm now 14 weeks!
I just wish I had tried it earlier. I only thought it was for girls who weren't ovulating. I was, so didn't think it would help. I heard later that it acts a bit like a "hormone turbo booster"...which I think helped me. I suspect that I had a few very very early pregnancies that never made it implantation stage...maybe due to lack of hormonal support.
Along with my first cycle of clomid, I was also charting, using pre-seed, BD-ing more than ever (my Dh even went on a form of viagra to keep up!!!) and had just had a HSG (tube scan/unblocking) in the previous few weeks. I think it was a combination of all those things that helped!

Good luck starfly! I did 4 clomid cycles and it didn't work for us. But then I went to a naturopath while the clinic was closed over Christmas and got utd before we moved on to IUI :D If you haven't been to a naturopath it's worth it - especially if you find one that will support your assisted conception journey (I was going to come off a couple of herbs to do the IUI, but she was to support me through that - but thankfully we didn't need to go there).

Just a quick update, I took my second round of clomid and did a pregnancy test 5 days ago very faint BFP and then I did one today 6 days later and I got my very first BFP after 2 years of trying to concieve... Wish us luck and please keep everything, well almost everything crossed for us! Hugs, Kisses and Baby dust to all.....

Lol yes thanks to clomid :) Taite and Seth were conceived naturally, this bub is a clomid bub. Although I am due in 2012, Button will be a xmas bub due to planned c section. Congrats again :hug::

Well I didn't concieve on my first cycle of clomid, however I got a BFP this month and went to my dr's a few days ago and I am 4 weeks pregnant. It felt good to hear the dr say it. Hopefully It all goes well, Im excited and nervous at the same time. Especially after trying to concieve for 24 months and seeing my first positive. I am just taking it easy, resting when I'm tired and eating well. Sending baby dust to all. xxx.

i'm thinking of going to the doc to get some clomid if i dont get pregnant this cycle. i've been off the pill since beginning of march and only ovulated twice so far, thanks to polycystic ovaries. i'm hoping third cycles a charm but if not i'm up for the drugs! they seem to work well for other people.
will my normal GP be able to give me a script? how long do you generally have to be trying for?
does it work straight away? like if i take it from CD 5 or whatever, will i ovulate on CD 15??

Mich83 - The GP will send you either to an OB/GYN or a fertility Dr who will then do bloods and prescribe you clomid from there. I don't think GP's prescribe it..
6 cycles of clomid with preseed and using a hcg trigger, no bfp for me. We went on to iui.

As PP said only OB/GYn can prescribe it it may be a wait to get tn to them- I have pcos as well and my GP gave me metformin which reduced my cycle length so i took that and then got clomid at obs. preseed it great too).
MIish --83 Clomid is a set of 5 tabs I think form memory and yr OB/GYN will tell you when to take it whether it be days 2-5 or 5-9, normally you will be montiered ( either by bloods or scan )to see if you have and follicles that are ready to ov and then yr dr will tell when to DTD, there is no set date when you will ovulate.
although it seems really black and white with clomid it is not at all, depends on yr severity of PCOS, mucus etc
i went onto clomid following a m/c in Feb this year (natural conception). Mainly to me being impatient and having long cycles. I started on Clomid 50mg day 2-5 but it didnt change my cycle length (still at about 46 days). He put up the clomid dose to 100mg day 2-5 again i ovulated right on scheduled and we conceived this little man and have been going well through out the pregnancy.
hope you dont have to wait too long to see the specialist and you quickly fall pregnant with a H&H nine months
