Is it just me, or are they not as "wet" as the huggies wipes? I find them to be really dry??
I found a lot of wipes to be really dry compared with huggies, but as Milo doesn't do well with the embossing on the huggies we con't use those a lot.
curash are ok, but often now I use wet face washers, or buy cotton squares at bigW and use those (dampened or wet)
I found that with J&J too..I now use the Woolworths Unscented, but that does't really help you not having a Woolies close by :(
i just want to make sure that they are supposed to be dry, cos if not, I want to contact them and let them know,
My sister is allergic to aloe vera so can only use the J&J wipes. I find them to be a lot wetter than the Huggies ones (which I use at home). Drives me nuts actually & I always mention it!
really sarah? So maybe I did get a dud pack?
I find J&J's the better ones to use. I am the same as Sarah as well. Maybe you have got a dud pkt or maybe you are not sealing them tightly once using one to keep them moist, i have done that b4?
HTH
Jen :)
Yeah Danni, I'd probably email / phone them. There could have been the tiniest pin hole in the packet & the moisture would be lost & you'd never realise. Is there any moisture in the bottom of the pack? I always notice that the bottom ones are very west, like they've been sitting in a puddle?
nah they were dry when i opened the packet. But i transferred them into thje huggies box so i cant check for holes or the puddle :(
when ever i have used J&J i have always felt that they are dry conpaired to huggies
Danni,
I buy J&J wipes, i found them better than huggies. Also i buy them in the 3 pack. I transfer them to a huggies box but i flip them over so the 'top' is at the bottom. You find all the moisture goes to the bottom through the wipes and it wets them again. If there was no moisture in the whole lot, i guess you got a dud pack and i would be ringing them and complaining.
great idea about flipping them over! thanks!
danni try Aldi, there fantastic!!
yes i will try aldi next. I only bought the J&J ones as the big box was hugely on special at big w. :)
aldi are $2.99 for 8o wipes if tht helps you :)
fletch: yeah i found huggies too wet and too cold for Masons bum. He would scream in the middle of the night :(
This packet is so dry its like tissues!
Ajp: wow thats a great price!
I use the Aldi ones too But don't get the green/blue packet, get the orange ones. I find that the greenish blue pack STINKS!
I don't like huggies wipes at all.
Ohhhh i have to go to Aldi and try their wipes!! I just went and bought a 3 pack of J&J, so will have to wait till they run out!!
oh no!!! I just went to Aldi and tried to remember what you said about the colours FJ but i got the blue ones!
The orange ones said some sort of fragrance, and the blue said fragrance free so i got those ones :(
Yeah they are fragrance free but too me they stink. Try them, it might just be me. Its not a bad bad smell but I don't like it.
hehe ok i will let you know in a few days when my J&J pack runs out.
BTW, i emailed J&J and they are sending me a replacemen pack.
i get j&j wipes as they're better value. i find they are drier at the top but i'm not too concerned. they are always really wet at the bottom and i sometimes squeeze them out a bit. i think if they are too dry use a spray of water on them so they aren't wasted. my s-i-l uses ordinary tissues with sorbolene cream as nephew kept having rashes. i find that every baby is different and to just do what works.
How are you finding the Aldi wipes Danni?
OT -wowza, look at your new avi!
atm i'm using swisspers and i find them a bit cheaper than huggies for almost the same thing. i store them upside down so that the liquid is always on the top wipes. an enclosed container of any sort is key to keeping them moist. i find i need enough moisture to wash wee off dd rather than soaking up any from her skin like a tissue. my opinion and she almost never has nappy rash. well bepanthen and zinc+castor oil probably helps. :D
I have been using J&J wipes. I find that the ones at the top of the packet are dry but the ones at the bottom are wetter. I bought a huge box of 480 wipes so I gotta use them now lol!
I love J&J wipes! I use them all the time! I find that the huggies ones are too thick to get out of the container in a hurry and can generally be a pain! I usually rip them when I try and get them out...but J&J are a lot thinner and easier for me!
i used J and J wipes from newborn stage, then i tried the Baby Nature wipes for outings and wet velour flannels for at home. I have noticed my bub has a less irritated bottom now, so i don't think the J and J wipes agreed with her skin.
She loves warm water flannels though, no more cold shock with the wipes.
