Yes you progesterone levels do drop late in your pregnancy. This is one of the things that is thought to help bring on labour
How interesting! With the temp drop, does that mean you're likely to feel less 'hot' than usual? I only ask because I've been feeling really hot all pregnancy, then the last few days I seem to have normalised again. And I'm overdue!!!
Oooeeerrr... good luck. I have read that vets will monitor a pregnant dogs temp to give them an idea of when they will labour. I also roughly temped in my last weeks with Violet and noticed the day before I had her my temp did drop :)
Tanya
Feathertop - Yes thats the general idea. I just keep forgetting to take my temp so frustrating been out of practice for a few months.
Tanya - thanks for the info about the dogs. What sort of drop are we talking about drastic or just a little.
ohhh what a great thread Smiley - I might start temping too to see what the go is!
Smiley, it was 0.2oC or something... bit like when AF is due (if you have charted your cycle). I can't really remember, but I do recall it being lower. Sorry not much help... I might chart my BBT closer to my edd and then post it on here... if I remember.
Tanya
ETA:Relle, you are closer... let us know how you go if you decide to do it :)
Tanya, I will definately give it a go hun, if I can remember to do it each morning! lol
Tanya is correct it will only drop a small amount but you should notice it if you start temping
Thanks guys you have been really helpful. Hope I remember to take my temp !!!!
Let us know how you go Smiley :)
Tanya
Well girls & Alan! lol I had a drop of .23 this morning, so will be interesting to see if anything happens! I am still only 38 weeks though, so not holding out much hope!
Interesting Relle... keep us updated :) Are you ready to have bub?
Tanya
Soooooooo ready Tanya! I don't think my back can last another 2 weeks!
Wow I was reading this thread over the weekend, it's all very interesting. I don't know if it would work for me, because I took my temp. early this morining after first reading Relle posts then just again about ten minutes and it was nearly .5 of a degree different. Both measurements were taken from under the same arm with the same thermometer, does this sound right to you all? Maybe I'm just wierd:rolleyes: (DH would verify that one;))
Good luck though Relle, I hope it's right for you:dance: I want another BB birth announcement;)
Mel, you need to take your temp orally before you get out of bed hun, at the same time each morning, give it a go!
Arh that would be why then. I will start tomorrow, might be a fun thing to do;) How are you feeling anyway Relle? Any different today, do you feel like your getting close? I remember with Charlee the morning my waters broke I just had a feeling she was close.
Honestly Mel, I don't really feel any different. I have a persistant backache, but then I have a dodgy back anyway, so it is more likely just getting fatigued from being pregnant.
I have not had any significant show, or any consistant BH, so I am tipping it is still a fair way off!
Oh this is very interesting.
I think I might give it a go and see what happens! I might put the data in to my FF chart if only I remembered what my password was...
On the chart I got pg with I was temping vaginally, is it best to continue with the same sort of temping or should matter if I go to orally?
I don't think it would matter as long as you are consistant, Veronica :)

Hi girls any tips on remembering to take temp I just keep forgetting. I did manage to take on a few days ago it was 36.18 which is on the low side from memory.
Smiley - I wish I had some tips for you, but I just leave my thermometer out on my bedside table and make it the very first thing I do when I wake up.
I had another reduction this morning, but I think that is more cause I was woken through the night and took it then at 3.30am, knowing that we would have broken sleep from there thanks to a sick 15mo!
I could swear something has been happening today though. Nothing major, just starting to notice alot of different tightenings across my belly and a really constant backache for the last 2 days.
We will see!
Oooeerr girls.... sounds promising.... :)
No tips Smiley... Unless you want to set your alarm?
