Am I pregnant???

Hello,

It is too early to test yet but I think I may be pregnant. This is TTC#2 and I am basing this assumption completely on what I recollect from nearly 4 years ago. Usually, post ov I get massively sore breasts and very emotional and teary or feel very flat.

This time (same as last time I was pregnant I think?) I started to get tingly breasts (which I get as soon as I ovulate) so we tried that night, the next morning I wake up and the tingling has gone. So symptom wise I don't have sore breasts (which I ALWAYS get usually and I am never pregnant), they have grown a little bit; headaches - lots of small fleeting ones (which I NEVER get usually), my emotions are stable and I am happy. The chocolate I ate tonight tasted like the 'smell' of dirt so I couldnt eat it. It is day 6 after ovulation.

So, what do you think? A few friends I asked about symptons (in 2wks after ov) were all completely different to me - one friend got exactly the opposite way around to me. I know everyone is different but I would be interested in what symptons everyone got in those 2 weeks post ov (when it's too early to test).

I'm not sure Michelle but I hope you are!! Maybe do a HPT in a few days time? Then try again in 3 days after that? When is AF due?? It may be way too early to tell!

AF due in 8 days. i am mainly getting excited because I never get the symptoms I get. My pre AF symptons start at the moment of ovulation. I know that sounds precise but I do a ov test to make sure it is positive and the same set of symptoms happen every time. This time, none of the usual! It was been the same for the last 20mths. With my first baby, my HPT at day 14 (post ov) didn't register. I wonder whether the preg hormone is slow to kick in with me?

Mich, first of all, congrats on those symptoms. I remembered when I fell pregnant (pregnancy #1), I had similar symptoms before my AF was due. You should try a HPT when your AF is due and if it's not positive, try it again 3 days later! If you try it now, it may be too early to tell! Anyways, wish you all the best!

When my AF was due, I did a home pg test, at my husbands request (he had made a joke of "maybe your pregnant, you should do a test"), and it was negative. 3 days after AF was due, I was at the dr for another reason, I told her I was late and she said most likely aren't pregnant, but we'll do a pee test anyway. We did and 2 lil lines came up! I was in shock!

I know it might be hard, but make an appt to see your doctor around the time AF is due to arrive and ask for a pg test/ blood test. I don't think the hpt's are really accurate. Some are supposed to be able to tell you within a week of ovualtion. Obviously, the one I used wasn't good enough to tell.

Thanksj for your replies, it is really nice to get some encouragement. Ren, are the pregnancy tests dr's have better than HPT"S? I know the hospital my DH works in are pathetic (always wrong) but they might be better at GP's. Blood test is good idea.

Just to update - very very mild AF type pain 5 and 8 dpo. today 8 dpo, and breasts just started to enlarge and get vagely tender. this is definitely a weird cycle for me. Mind you, if I am not pregant and these are going to be my new PMS symptoms, they can stay because they are not bad at all! Last night and the night before I took a bite of my favourite obsession (ie chocolate) and it tasted like dirt. It was so bad I couldn't eat any more. Chocolate never tastes like dirt (not that I eat dirt but tastes like the 'smell' of it) it is delicioius. One more reason to feel hopeful.

I feel nothing other than temp and 7 dpo bleed. We can be frustratingly waiting together.

When I look back at the few weeks after ov I remember having this strange smell in my nose and a metalic or sugary taste in my mouth I kept thinking there was fire near by but it was just the strange smell in my nose. I also find that food tastes very intense and I got turned off strong smelling or tasting foods.
I took my test at week 7 so I got a full positive but I have heard some ladies getting a P as early as 10 dpo but maybe they had their dates wrong plus it's difficult to know exactly when you ovulate unless your testing isn't it?

I can't say i taste or smell anything quite like that. Time will tell. I am only day 23 and i am going to do my first test tomorrow morning as it will be 12DPO and my fingers are crossed.
I think if you are charting and your cycles are quite regular etc and you can test with the good on pee on the stick trick...god i love it...you can have a pretty good idea when you ovulate and at least when you ovulated!

My AF is due today but I have had the most painful breasts!!! Very sore and enlarged! I have NEVER had this before AF is due... could be more aware of AF symptoms though now that i am not on the pill (3mths ago went off pill) so my body is back to normal perhaps but yeah, who knows... be so exciting if I was pregnant!!! ;)
And i've been terribly moody!!! Snappy!! But that could also be PMS!!!

My breasts were always sore from the word go. I did HPT before my period was due with the first and second times, but a week after with the third time.

Cruemum.... can you still get really sore big boobs just before AF also? I'm sooo moody yesterday and today too.... i don't think I am pregnant yet again it's possible as we didnt use anything a couple of times the other week!!!!

ohh that's one of the symptoms that stood out i had such sore boobs I even felt a lump in both almost like a gland and I was actually going to see the dr once af came just to make sure I didn't have double breast cancer :lol: also lots of vissible veins around my breasts from increased blood supply.

I can't wait for you to do the test so I can imigine you must going nuts!!

How brilliant for you, i hope you are pregnant. My SIL went off the pill and had a heap of symptoms, but then the second month she was pregnant. So there were only one month to compare for you. She too had realy sore boobs, bloated and a guess just a heightened hormone effect as her body was gettign used to functioning normally again.

You may well be pg, only time will tell. I'm 40 and have found throughout the years my symptoms throughout my cycles have changed so for years I might have sore boobs prior to AF then I would change and not get them for many months or years, the same with headaches prior to AF. The one thing I do know is that for the past few months of TTC (since a m/c) I see every little change as a possible pregnancy when I know in my head it's too early for it and I've had heaps of pg like symptoms. I've even had nausea, light headedness & sensitivity to smell and not been pregnant. Try not to get your hopes up until that extra line actually comes up on the stick.

It is interesting to hear everyone's symptoms. THey are all so varied and sooo much like PMS. Update as follows:12 dpo past ov. preg test today neg. Been getting lots of period type pain, really mild on and off since day 8 - feels like about day 2 -3 of AF cycle. I keep expecting AF to be here or at least spotting but nothing. More CM than usual. This is one weired cycle. I have never got period pain symptoms before AF comes so this is all new. Boobs still very sore. They are getting worse. Usually by now breasts are reducing in tenderness and almost normal by 13/14 dpo.

Cranky this morning because last night, tired, have to get teaching lesson plans in by midday before we leave on plane tonight and still have to pack and do 101 things! Never enough hrs in the day to do things with a little DD. I am going to put a DVD on for her soon, have a cuppa and get started. Sounds like I wont have time to think about if preg or not. why does the 2ww have to send me round the twist. would be much easier if I could just be pregnant.

Anyway,

might not write here while away as I can't remember my password (my computer does it automatically). See how it goes. Next preg test Sat if no AF before that.

Today for me, i am startign to get that feeling of upset bowels just before my AF is due. Last night i took my bra off for a shower and yowzer, one boob hurt on one side. Is a bit tender today. Ahhhhhahhhh! It is so frustrating, i just want that BFP. I hope someone out there hears me. I am as ready as can be, bring it on!!!!

Oh yeah one thing, i bought a ginger beer yesterday and it tasted like mould!! yuckko. I had 2 liquorice sticks to get the flavour out of my mouth. i have been craving those lately!! Hee hehe, but it is true, every sign can be turned into what you want it to be!! What ever gets us through. Haa! I am a certified nutter!

Michelle - i tested this morning, first wee of the day, and it's a BFN. I figured it would be. might be too early to tell. boobs are still tender and sore, no cramping and normally i get cramping before it's due and i'm now 3 days late! ah well, could just be a late AF... no big deal anyway...!

Today was great, got cuddles with my friends bub 12 wk (10wk premi) and he is 8lb, so tiny and so cute. It was great. I am day 28 and 15DPO and waiting. Bowels are still funny, temp took a dip today and feeling like it is coming for the last 2 days. I have had pink mucus again today and getting more and mroe excited each time i go and pee and find no AF. God i am praying my little knees off!!

oh Hippy Mum! That's great! the signs sound like they are there ie pink mucus... fingers crossed for you!!! :) I hope you get a BFP very, very soon.... when are you next testing? I am going to test tomorrow. The more and more I am waiting, the more and more I am now hoping for a BFP! :lol: because the wait must be worth something right? hehe I have slimey CM (the type you get when "O"ing) and I feel like I'm going to get my AF (feels wet...so i go the loo and NOTHING! (Like you!)....

I know we werent TTC but it would be soooo wonderful if we did get a surprise BFP!!! It would be meant to be!!!

just updating my post i did earlier - i just went to the loo and on the tissue paper was a tiny, tiny bit of light brownish mucus discharge... wonder what thats all about? normally when I get AF it's like bright red and fair amount! strange AF this month!!!

Yes the same, i feel a bit wet like i am discharging and i go to the loo and still no AF. CD29 today and 16DPO. Even wehn i have had a long cycle, i have never had a longer than 13-14 day luteal phase. :dance:The only thing that i am getting is the coloured mucus, like O time but a bit coloured. Normally when AF comes, like you, it is blood with clots and a bit of mucus.
Wouldn't it be great. I will test tomorrow. I have said to myself all month, July the first we will have a BFP.
Hang in there, it might not be AF, you never know. Some girls get light AF when they fall Pg. :crossfingers:

Well I just did my test (2nd one since Weds) and it was neg... ah well... no AF yet either! No more light brownish/pinkish discharge either? it just disappeared since i had the small amount yesterday? Strange for me... no cramping either.... i've run out of HPT's! I'll do another test Tues morning to see how i go if no AF by then!!!
I'm now 6 days late... about 20DPO & 34CD.... I think...

Well Renstar, AF came this morning and was not a happy camper, man i am over this. It is increasingly difficult each time. Boy i hope you are home and hosed. I know you are getting BFNs but you are right, until AF shows, it is not over!! I am going through a bit of a poor me and it's not fair thing today! a couple of days and i will be ok and ready to start again. For today, a hot water bottle, princess diana concert and the couch will be my day!! A few naprogesics today, hate taking them, but i just need a break today.
I so hope you are pregas babe. My fingers are still crossed for you. Your symptoms still sound good.
So distract me, wedding plans, girl. What are you having....colours....flowers. I love weddings. I could go to one every week if i knew that many people. And i am a chef, so what food are you having??

oh Jodie, I'm so sorry AF arrived.... I got AF yesterday too about lunch time... bad cramps too to follow... just to make it worse! However I'm not really too disappointed as we weren't even TTc just yet (Sept)... but yeah, i feel awful and bloated and i have to leave for work in about 5mins! ah well.... enjoy your day on the couch, and do not get up! Just rest and have a sleep and it's amazing how good you will feel afterwards... i'm jealous i can't do that today! hehe
I'm so sorry AF arrived for you... lets hope the next few weeks go fast for you and you can see if next month is your BFP month perhaps??
Your symptoms were very promising werent they? I can't believe how similar AF symptoms are to early preg symptoms i think it's very cruel of nature... !! I'm sorry you feel so disappointed, i really hope you get a BFP very soon... it must be so hard waiting and waiting all this time....

Hi ladies - just wanted to tell you that you are not the only ones who get pg like symptoms and turn out not to be pg. I've been like that since my m/c in March. With me thought I find I get them in week 3 of my cycle so I guess they are O signs and then they start to disappear as the 4th week progresses. Our bodies are capable of very strange things.

i have spent the last two dasy comforting others that have had AF arrive too so that in turn has helped me.
How about you? My AF goes for about 6 days so a couple more to go and i can start planning the next month. But like you i have some distractions for the next couple of weeks. We are moving house. Everything always happens at once doesn't it. All or nothing. I will be ovulating, and moving house at the same time. We have allowed ourselves a week to to it though and don't have that much stuff really. I dread packnign to come home eventually. Daniel, hubby, was a bit homesick today. It has just started hailing. God my brain is scatty today!!!

Hi everyone,

Back on line after week away. My lovely MIL has dial up internet and I have no patience with that I'm afraid so I haven't postered in a while.

AF came just like you all. Looks like the ovulation prediction kit was incorrect? i had a positive for ovulation but i must of ovulated 2 days later. Having said that, we still did it around the actual time so bad luck again I guess. I have decided to have an ultrasound anyway seeing as it was a completely different cycle to usual. last year I thought I was pregnant because I had a very different cycle and 10 days of heavy AF - possible miscarriage so I booked in for an ultrasound and they found a cyst on one of my ovaries. If you don't have good ovaries I figure you are really up the creek hence the ultrasound this time for peace of mind. Once AF arrived I got NO more period like pain. She has been very good to me so after two sad days I am fine now - this is also great and unusual.

Renstar and Jodie, I feel for you both, so sorry it wasn't your time either. I am going to write some more in my TTc journal. Might catch up with you in there? Moving and weddings - sounds like you are both busy - it is good to have something else to think about isn't it? On our short holiday up to Bris my sister, best friend and SIL are all pregnant - it was very hard not to think about it.....

Sooo sorry AF arrived for you... good luck with the U/S... hopefully that will give you some answers..? I hope you get a BFP very soon... you sound like you so desperately want a baby you poor thing... i believe it will happen if thats what you truly want...

I'm not too disappointed because we weren't actually TTC just yet anyway... we were still using condoms thats why i thought if i was pregnant then i must be terribly fertile!!! (although even using condoms ppl fall pregnant hey??)So we are TTC August... i'm very excited and looking forward to it but i understand like some, it may take me a while to conceive. i have always been healthy and touch wood, never had problems "down there" so as far as i know I have healthy fertility...i s'pose you never really know unless you start trying hey? As women, growing up, we always presume we will just have babies because thats what women do right? We just have babies? Who ever thought it would be so hard for some ppl to be able to have something that is their birth right? I believe EVERY woman should be able to conceive, it's not fair that some can and some can't.... I pray that you will have a BFP when you least expect it Michelle :) You deserve it matey... I will be thinking of you... let us know how the scans go?!

HippyMum - sorry i forgot to reply to you!! My AF lasts 4-5 days since coming off BCP's so i'm happy! They used to be 6 days before BCP's and whilst on them (i think?!) I'm just about finished AF and looking forward to "O" time this month. another 12 days i think... we arent TTC until Aug/Sept. GOOD LUCK MOVING HOUSE!!!!!! It's a big job isnt it!!! I hope you get some time to DTD in between lifting those boxes!!!!!!
