Does CM change colour when pregnant? If so, how does it change?

Hi DaniB, not sure as i havent been pg yet but i asked my sister and she said it was creamy and she had heaps of it. She said she felt "wet" all the time and she had cramps so she thought it was af iykwim?

Danni I haven't had this but have heard of others having it - if you have this at 12 dpo and no watery CM, then I think there's a good chance you are UTD!!

What if it's watery & slimey type CM? Like the type you get when you are "O"ing?? that's what I have and I am still waiting for AF (5 days overdue now).... ?? Also feeling very tired, sluggish... (had a good sleep too?!)
I feel like AF has arrived cos' i feel 'wet' (TMI SORRY), and so i visit the loo and find nothing when I wipe...

If it's watery and you're at O time, it's fertile CM. If it's watery and AF is due, then it's probably the corpus luteum leaving your body if you are not pg - that happens a day or two before AF.

If it's white and watery, is it like lotion? Because that's classified as creamy.

i am 5 days past AF..... just went to the loo and when I wiped, had a tiny very tiny bit of "light brownish" spotting... what could that mean? normally when i start AF she's bright red and when i wipe usually a fair bit of it KWIM?

As i said before Renee - it sounds like your body is getting used to coming off BCP... Bleeding can change and it can be lighter, heavier, last longer or just spotting until your body gets back into a proper cycle.

Fertile CM is like raw egg white... and when not O'ing it's creamy in colour - when pg you get the same sort of CM you get when your not in your fertile period... It doesn't change to some special secret sort of CM when ya pg - it's just the same old same old. Unless obviously it's show or something which you shouldn't expect till the end of pg anyway...

Daniella - Yellow usually indicates some sort of infection, like a bladder infection or thrush... Especially if you haven't been drinking much or enough water.

ok... i bet you are right... its just strange cos' the last 2 cycles after BCP were spot on and no funny business it was just straight into the AF KWIM?
i guess it's normal to wonder when it's something you aren't used to.

gee, this is all sounding very familiar. I've been having what I think is a lot of ewmc in the past two days but Probably had an early m/c last week. I was wondering if it meant I could still be pregnant (I doubt it) or I am about to O again! I havent had so much ewmc since last year, strange fact but I do note everything these days. I will be watching to see what happens with you guys! Good luck!!!! I hope you are UTD.

Renstar - Well just think about it, after being on BCP's for 6 years... the hormones from the BCP's don't just get out of your system overnight - and the hormones could have still been in your body for the last two months and now your body is just clean now and your body is still working out what it's mean to do.

BTW - fatigue is definately a symptom of AF... i used to come home from work and go straight to sleep because i was so tired! But i hope if you are pg it's not ectopic or something nasty and is the reason why your not producing HCG high enough to get BFP when you POAS.

I thought the bcp got out of your system after about 24 hrs. That's why you have to take it at the right time. Or within 12 hours of the usual time??

I've been reading this thread with interest over the last couple of days. Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy.

Sara - you can fall pg if you miss the BCP just one day... but they recommend you give yourself a three month break after coming off the BCP so the hormones can return to normal and so your body can get back into a routine. Just because some fall pg on the BCP doesn't mean it is that easy for everyone who comes straight off it who TTC. It also really depends how long you've been on them too i think. ;)

Catherine- yeah, i think it's gonna take a while for my body to get back to normal. I went off them at the end of last month. Pretty sure no O yet so it will be a while before AF arrives. Pretty annoying actually.

SaraJane, don't worry in no time your AF should arrive... i didnt get mine until CD48 after first coming off BCP's so don't worry too much, but yeah i know how annnoying it can be!! the waiting...

Catherine, yeah i agree with what you said about BCP's and coming off them and how your body usually will take 3mths to get back to normal... i've heard that too... i think for some women it may be shorter and for some it may be longer period of time for their bodies to regulate... what happened to one person may not happen to another person etc and I believe it also depends on your natural fertility levels also and how fertile you and your partner is... some women are terribly fertile and can fall preg at the drop of a hat (like one of my friends!) and others, takes longer...
I got AF today :dance: I'm so happy!!!! Finally!!!!! What a relief....I was tired of waiting! So that was CD33... hopefully next cycle will be shorter like the last two! Only another 2 cycles until we can TTC!!! yeah!!!

i've had some oddn CM this month too. On CD14 I got EWCM, then on CD19, I got EWCM, then today (CD24) I got a little bit of EWCM again!! Talk about confusing.
