nickname for unborn baby
i was just wondering what everyone refers to their babies as? i guess if you know the sex you can use their name, but does anyone have any nicknames?
here is ours...right from the start DH started calling it "speck" because i would read to him in the books that it was only 2cm long etc. obviously now bub is a lot bigger than that, but the name has stuck..
anyone else?

I'm not even pregnant yet but we've already starting referring to him/her as Cookie (as in Cookie Monster)
Don't know how that came about...
-
Yasin was Peanut because he looked just like a peanut in his first ultrasound. This one is Meeny (ancient briton for number 2) and since this mornings ultrasound (when we noticed its amazing resemblence to small blob) its also been blobby.
-
I often referred to Jacob as "little tiger" or "little one" whilst PG.
-
Madeline was 'Squishy' up until Monday just passed when we found out it's likely she's a girl.
(ie. Squishy from 'Finding Nemo')

Jack was the littlest evans. This time around it is B1 & B2 Thanks to Dach :D :D !! On the first u/s they do look like blobs, might have to have a name change in a couple of weeks!!
-
I have called this one little bean or little one or bubs. I really don't have a definite nickname for he/she.
-
When I first conceived DH and I would call bubs, Jelly Bean and this continued on until about 15 weeks when we saw the u/s and changed it to Jelly Baby. Now I just say "bubs" or "my sweety". I know it's a girl but even though I'm pretty sure we have the name I'll still wait until she's born before referring to her as such, just in case I look at her and think "no that name doesn't suit".
-
We call ours baby v because our surname begins with V and I remember my mum telling me that when I was born the hospital put baby + surname because they had not decided on a name... so I guess it went from baby + surname to plain baby V. Incidently both names we like for boy and girl also start with the letter V!!!!
-
We're referring to baby as Noodles at the moment - Mum came up with that name.
-
Snap Beckibee!
We called Blake "Squishy" from Finding Nemo.... we were thinking as a family what to call him and I said, "What shall we call it?" and the line from FN came to me, "I was call you Squishy and you will be mine." And so he was. :D
Vivienne was "Bob". Not because we thought she was a boy, just because she used to Bob around in there, in all that 'water'.
-
Alex was "squirt" because that's what he started out as... when we found out he was going to be tiny tiny, we called him "skinned" as in "rabbit"!
This one doesn't have a nickname... sometimes it's "maniac" because it's so active!

Ours is "Little Jimmy" even though we don't know whether it's a boy or girl.
We were both reading Bill Bryson when I got pregnant, and he always refers to young kids as "Little Jimmy". I used the name once, and it stuck.
-
Sultana Baby because a book we read at about 6 weeks said the baby was about the size of a sultant ~ even though it's grown much bigger now sultana has stuck.
-
Ours is 'Grommet'. DH is a surfie, so this is our "little surfer baby" hopefully happily surfing away in my fluids!!
-
Hendrix was referred to as 'the bean' by DH and me throughout pregnancy. We didnt know if he was a boy or girl and at the first u/s (7 week dating u/s) he looked like a bean. The funny thing is that the nickname hasnt stuck since he was born he just doesnt suit the name whereas Hayseed (hope she doesnt mind me talking about her) has called her baby Pup throughout preg and ive noticed that she still calls Thomas pup....
-
-
I called ours Baby Bogan tonight just to tease DH. He's determined not to have a bogan! (DH's reaction = noooooooooooooo!) Don't think it'll stick... but t'was funny none-the-less :)
-
Our surname is Boyle so we call the baby Astro after the 1980's cartoon character Astro Boy.
-
Aidyn was called 'Little Pup'.
Mainly because DP's nickname was Pup at an earlier stage in our relationship...
Little-Pup still stuck with Aidyn even for a few months after birth, lol ;)
-
We have named out unborn (possibly un conceived) baby GOOBER..... not sure how we got this probably from Gooey....LOL
-
Just bubba, but I have been refering to the baby as Declan which is the name we have chosen if it is a boy, so I hope I am not calling a little girl Declan hehhehehe or she might be born with gender identity issues
-
Matthew got Bubs, Little One, Little Man, Littele Boy and just The Boy
-
DS was The Lemon becuase about the time the students in my summer course noticed that I was pregnant and asked about the baby, I told them it was about the size of a lemon... My sister's DD was "Dusty" b/c we were all offering up the most ridiculous unisex name suggestions we could think of since she didn't know boy or girl, and somehow Dusty stuck. Funny thing is our other sister painted a great rocking horse for niece after she was born and attached the name Dusty to the horse--so niece has been Sophie (her real name) ever since!
-
We referred to Gabby as "Little Nobba". Rather odd, I know but my DH gets called "Nobba" (he's a red-head) so we just assumed that the baby would be just like him. She'll probably hate us for it one day ;)
-
Munchkin here as well :) My brother though decided boy or girl the babys name would be Larry & he still calls Zander Larry now!
-
-
My little ones name is "CHUCKIE" as thats what I do most days. If I don't do it I feel like doing it.
-
Our nickname is "Millimetre" ! DH thought of it and it's just stuck, but I love it...I have the ultrasound pic on the fridge, and when I go past I say "Hey Mills!"
-
my babies name is bubble at the moment
-
Ours is Baby Cheevs, it's kinda a long story but my car had number plates on it MISCHEEVS (said mischievious) so my nickname is Cheevs, and our dog's name is Chevy and he gets called Cheevs too - so Baby Cheevs kinda just stuck!
-
Keenan was 'Jelly' as in bean and baby, but moreso 'coz of what the pictures of foetuses in all the preggo books I was looking at - all jellyish.... LOL!!!
The new one I have dubbed 'little caviar' so far, 'coz it's not quite big enough to 'name' and I don't wanna get too attatched 'just in case' - sounds terrible, I know....( I just wanna make sure it's all healthy and 'sticks')
-
Rachel, I didn't know you were pregnant again!!!! CONGRATULATIONS :cheer: :confetti: :flower:
-
Thanks - Congratulations are in order for you too I see! Well done!
-
My DS was nicknamed "gooba" but as yet this little one doesn't have a name. Maybe i should think of one after my scan on Tuesday as then i can give it a name to fit its looks. HAHA. LOL
