Finding out Sex of baby

Will you find out the sex of your baby?

I know it is early but most people know what they want to do sstraight up.

It is funny, I always wanted to know and my Hubby was always adamant that you should wait until it is born. Well we have switched. Now I don't want to know, do kind of but not really, and Hubby has been thinking it might be good. We need to discuss this more.

I understand all the practicalities of finding out but I think there are so few surprises left in life I don't want to know. And this is from the girl who always feels presents under the tree:lol:.

Luey, I didn't want to know and DH did. He agreed not to find out as he knew he wouldn't be able to keep the secret. Both times when our beautiful boys were born we were really happy and glad that we hadn't found out earlier. It really was a great surprise finding out and meeting the baby all at the same time. I just couldn't bring myself to spoil the surprise by finding out earlier.

We didn't find out for our first baby and said right from the start it didn't matter but when it came to the crunch, alls that stenographer had to say was do you want to know and we would have said yes. Just lucky she didn't, thank god, cause it was lovely not knowing. As much as it doesn't matter this time either, I think I will find out just to know whether to wash Lachlan's clothes or buy some pink ones.

I just got a BFP this afternoon, all a bit surreal still!!!!!!

We are undecided about the next one. We didn't find out with River, but it didn't matter either way really. However, as much as I LOVED the surprise of River...thinking of a name for either gender almost killed me. I guess we'll decide whenever we get there hey.

I have been doing some Chinese Sex prediction Calenders on Google and still confused. Half the time I get a girl, others a boy. Not sureif it works on Chinese age and how I work it out. I would love to know. Especially if it has worked for anyone, but I guess it has a 50:50 chance of being right

Hey Luey, I'd done those before falling with Riv, but didn't know his sex at the time - it predicts girl for him...but he's a boy! So...there's my stat for your collection. Wrong for us on any potential conception date.

We haven't found out...and are so excited to discover who our baby is in the next few weeks...

Lol, Monnie, that's what I figured, that when I couldn't be bothered anymore, curiosity would motivate me! :p

Well it is such a personal decision, isn't it.. there is no right or wrong way to look at it!

We knew from the very beginning that we would find out... only a week and 2 days to go till my scan! wooohooo We decided that we wanted a surprise along the way too... cause second trimester can be a bit boring i'm finding...LOL and we wanted to be able to buy stuff for bubs.. the selection of neutral things aren't that great at the moment!! We also figured it was enough of a surprise to see what bubs looks like :)

Well that is our opinion!! The rest of my family can't believe that we are finding out!! gee so i told them that i wont tell them if they don't want to know and they didn't like that! LOL

whatever you decide, make sure it's a mutual decision :)

we haven't found out, and although it's been really hard at times, i'm glad that we've held out this long and i'm really excited about getting the surprise at the end of it. i wasn't sure what to do at one stage there, and was really tempted to find out so that i coud buy stuff but someone on bb told me that one of the best moments of their life was after the birth when they looked at their new bub and found out what sex it was, so that pretty much sealed the deal for me.

We haven't found out. I was tempted as we're both 99% sure it's a boy and of course I started visualising a little boy toddler in my life in his little trousers etc. etc. so I was a bit concerned that I might be completely shocked to have a girl.

Anyhow, then I read that not knowing can spur you on in the final stages of labour and as I figure I'll need all the help I can get, that sealed it for me.

Yes, it's probably a bit nicer to be able to buy non-neutral colours but really, you don't need to buy everything that the baby's going to need right now. We've bought enough for the first few days and if we really want to go down the blue/pink path well we'll go shopping again.

Either way, we'll be delighted. If it's a boy, we were right and if it's a girl well she's a clever, cheeky monkey for fooling us this long!

When my sister fell pregnant, everyone asked her if she was going to find out. I realised then if I ever fell pregnant, that I wouldn't want to find out. I want some things in my life to be a surprise. Well, did I have a few surprises since then! Surprise! DH and I got engaged (over the radio, no less!). Surprise! We're pregnant! I love not knowing. Everyone who askes me if I know, and I don't, are all pleased about it. My mother and dh's mother didn't find out (the technology wasn't there at the time), and if they can make it thru the 40wks without knowing, then so can I. Maybe if we have another one, we'd find out then... Least this way, when you have your baby shower, there's not going to be EVERYTHING pink or EVERYTHING blue, iykwim. There'll be some variety. I can't wait to hear the midwife call out "it's a...."

With my first we didnt find out...it was very special when she did 'pop' out....im so glad we DIDNT find out with our first......

Whilst my other two pregnancies we have found out, im glad we did - im a organised freak and figure i would rather be organised with baby items during pregnancy, than having to worry about it when my baby arrives....each to their own though....

I didn't find out with DS and won't with my next babies: it's so wonderful to be able to find out yourself shortly after delivery! It helps keep you focussed in labour and such a nice surprise!

Plus, I think with gender disappointment if DS had been a girl I'd just be so thrilled to have a baby that it wouldn't matter. If I have another boy then I have blue things, if I have a girl next time I do have a couple of pink girlie things I bought for DS.

We didn't find out what the sex of our baby was and it was one of the most amazing moments when my DH saw our baby and looked at me with tears in his eyes and told me we had a gorgeous little girl. It was simply amazing and because of this experience we will never find out with our next baby.
It was also great guessing the sex and making bets. I was positive it was a boy and my DH was positive it was a girl so we had bets. It was great fun.
DH orginally wanted to know and I didn't so we decided by thinking would be dissapointed if we found out/didn't find out. That made the decision for us.

We found out with both our pregnancies, only because I hate surprises and mu DH thought it would be better so we could plan in buying things that was for the baby not just in a boring one colour for everything. I can't wait to find out with baby #3, I think thats just as exciting.

One thing you always notice - whenever people DON'T find out - they were really glad they didn't and whenever people DO find out - they were really glad they did. lol.

We found out - only because I am the world's most impatient person and I am a real planner and wanted everything name, clothes, room etc. sorted out. I figure you have to wait half your pregnancy to find out at the scan - I wasn't waiting for the second half as well!!!

We will be finding out this time round as well (woohoo - can't believe we're doing it all again!!)

We found out for our first son and for the second my husband new the whole time but I wanted a surprise so he kept the secret to himself. I think it was nice to have a surprise but this time (Im 9 weeks preggers) I definitely want to find out mainly so we can plan and will know whether to keep the boys clothes or give them away.

We found out, and I am so glad we did!! The only reason we found out was because I was giving work up for the whole pregnancy and if I couldn't decorate and paint in a certain theme I was going to go nuts!!
