Positive...or Negitive??

HEY all!!
Okay okay, i have a tough, but really important question to ask!!
I tested this morning...with my first pee for the day and everything. The 20mlU from LC is the test i used...Did everything right, about 2 mins after putting it flat, i noticed a extremely faint line, thinking it was just my eyes i didnt mention anything, BUT DP also saw it!! it was a purply colour like the line, but like i said, really faint, i mean, really really really faint, but you could see it from an arms lenth away. So DP and i are like Hmm...is that a faint positive or what??
So we threw it away and just thought we will just test again tomorrow or monday...
There shouldnt have been any line, faint or not, if there is no HCG in my pee...right?? Being faint it could mean i do have HCG in my pee, but just not enough to come up dark enough?? There is no mistake the line was there, you could see it in any light, from an arms lenth away...
Im taking it as a negative, for now, but i want to know what you girls think...
Im 12DPO today...i was going to test tomorrow coz DP and i calculated the best time to test would be 12DPO at least because of the HCG levels rising etc and we just wanted to give it that extra day to let the levels rise nice and high :)

It doesn't matter how faint the line is.... if it's there it is pretty much guarenteed a positive!!

A line is a line, congrats are in order I do believe, but test again tomorrow and see if it is darker but I think you are defineately pg.

Thanks girls for the answers so far :) im just soo unsure because of how faint it was.but i guess the fact i could still see it, and DP could see it, and from an arms lenth away...but any lighter and it would have probably been invisible.

At 12DPO I'd expect it to be quite faint like that, so maybe as you say try again on Monday & you'll have a darker line ;)

Hi, fingers crossed it's a BFP!!! My first home test was faint but showed positive, then went to the doc and he did a urine test which was inconclusive, then another straight after which said it was negative, he sent me for blood tests the next day and the results came back BFP!!! So congratulations!!!

A line is a line.
I tested on like sunday last week when I was only 7 DPO (no real reason, just thought I would), and I got a line like you are describing.

Hubby and I tested again on Wednesday night and got a darker line, but it was still faint, but definitely a line that time.

We tested today (AF is due tomorrow), and our line is now the same colour as the control.

Our very very faint :bfp: is now a strong :bfp:

With AF due tomorrow, and our line nice and strong, I'm feeling good.

I think your line will continue get darker!

I would say that is a baby I have had three and I have never had anymore than a really really faint line but I now have three children at my knees so I would say congratulations meg and ben

Tested...same faint line..temp went up to 36.57 which is really high for me...so maybe tomorrow its going to be the day it doubles

I've had faint lines with both my pregnancies.

This time around (had no idea i was even preg last time, so hence no idea when i o'ed), i got a very faint line each day until like 13-14, (started getting them at like CD10-11)..

But as a friend has said both times, a line is a line, if you can see it you are def. pregnant, and all of mine got quite a lot darker after 5 mins.

There is a pic of the result in the Photo Gallery. The pic was taken out of the 5 min time frame (about 8 mins after taking the test), but has not darkened much, only slightly. But it was as visible to me and DP as it is in the photo...maybe slightly less visible...
And on my FF chart too

i used thesame test with my son n all three test cum backvery faint like yours everytime n they were all done 2 days apart so i woulkd say u are pregnant............ congratulations

I just looked at the pic. I can see the line. You very rarely get false positives with preg tests, and the fact that you have done 2 positive ones now. I would say congrats are in order!!!

I get Meg, or i try to get ppl to call me Meg, every one calls me Meagan though, its annoying coz its Meg-an and i tell them that...grr lol...so Meg is easier for ppl to grasp

I just looked at your test photo, theres a line there.
Try getting some of the "Confirm" in stream tests (I got mine at Coles), or "First Response" in stream ones.
Im STILL (nearly a week after my bfp) unable to get more than a shadow on tests that look like yours, but on the First response in stream ones, my line is the same colour as the control, and the Confirm ones are that one that gave me the BFP.

If you feel you need to try and put your mind at rest (though there IS a line there), try the in stream ones...they may give you a darker result.
