Feeling baby move ??
Hi everyone, just wanted to know when you guys first started feeling your baby move? I am very sure that I have been feeling mine move for the last week or so (starting around 12-13 weeks) It feels like fluttering/vibrations that I have never felt before. I thought in the beginning it was gas, but I am noticing it more and more and it's getting more pronounced every day. I tell my friends that I am feeling him move and they just laugh and say it's too early. I know I'm not going out of my mind. I am certain it's the baby. When did you all start feeling your baby? I have read that some women can feel as early as 13 weeks but it's not that common, what do yall think???
-
Hi Chrissy
What you have described certianly does sound like first flutters, 13 weeks is quite early but it's definitely possible, I was 15 weeks when i felt my bubs for the first time, and then I didn't feel anything for another week or so.
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

Hi Chrissy,
I first felt my bubba move (flutters) at 13 weeks and got my first hard kick at 14 weeks! Tell your friends you know what your talking about - definately sounds like your baby to me!
-
Me too, I felt the flutters at 13 weeks and felt kicks late 14-15 weeks. Even now the kicks are inconsistant but I cant wait till they are more often. Problem is once you feel the kicks they are addictive and you want to feel them all the time.

hi, ihave only been feeling bubd for 3 or so weeks now, didnt write date down but as the girlshave said yup thats it thats what i felt!
-
Hi,
I think that i felt the first movement at the start of 13 weeks - Crystal, i thought it was wind too, but nothing eventuated (much to the delight of DH). I didnt feel anything for another couple of days, but now i think that i am feeling something that is not usual most days at varieng different times.
I am really looking forward to the proper kicks though... I guess i will soon be wishing that i did not when i am kicked in the back etc
-
I am 14 weeks and I don't think I have felt anything. Where abouts do you feel the fluttering? Is it down low, somewhere higher?
-
I have felt flutterings and a kick or two I think, it started at 13 wks and has been intensifying, it's a different feeling to wind...I can tel the difference any way :) lol
-
I felt my first baby at 16 weeks and I actually felt a few little flutters from the second one at 10 weeks - doctors will tell you that's it's not but as far as I'm concerned, I'd felt it before so I knew immediately what it was. He then went quiet for a few weeks after that and I started feeling him again at about 14 weeks.
The thing about moving babies is that it's not a sensation you feel all the time, so you certainly notice it when it happens, even if it is your first! It never felt like gas, or bubbles or anything else to me...it was a completely different, new feeling and that's how I knew with such certainty what it was ;)
It's awesome, enjoy every second you'll miss it when it's over!

I am 13 weeks and have been feeling flutters since 11 and a half weeks, but now they are getting more noticeable and frequent
-
marknjo, I am feeling them about 4 or 5 inches below my navel. Always in the same spot. I have to be resting (sitting down still or lying down) to feel it.
-
I'm sixteen weeks, and felt it for the first time about 10-12 days ago. Always when laying down, and not particularly frequent... and i always feel it about an inch below my belly button and 2-3 inches to the left. it sort of fells like a feather tickling put from the inside. there are so many ways i have tried to describe it... it's almost like a pattering little feeling. i was amzed to think i could feel it this early, but i'm excited to presume it so all the same! especially after reading the above post also.

I've been gettin the crud kicked out of me since 16weeks, he's a big boy. I felt little twinges etc early on but was told it was too early to feel anything. Now my tum is a constant plate of jelly Alien style lol. Trust your instincts, some people can feel it a lot earlier. I had a midwife tell me if you are really thin you are more likely to feel it earlier and for u to be able to feel it on the outside earlier as well.

I'm 15.5weeks w bub #1, havent really felt much yet..
i just felt a little something but dunno if it's it. like something tingly?
i get worried that i dont feel anything... i had my 14 week scan and everything was ok..
-
I am 16 weeks this sat. I felt baby kicking a week or more ago but haven't felt anything lately. I am a little worried... I just want one kick, anything to know that he is OK....
-
Hi Caz,
I am 16 weeks and still have not felt anything! I know what you mean about wanting just one kick to know all is ok! It seems like such a long wait between the 12 and 19 week scans when you can actually see bub and know that all is ok.

I started feeling butterflies last Saturday, just twice, and then on Sunday bebe was doing laps. I feel bebe a few times a day (even right now!) It all started at 16w+2 days! No kicks yet though.
The feelings a bit strange, like someone gently blowing on your skin or ants crawling on your skin. Still seems like 'Alien' to me!!
I'm waiting for kicks!!
Good luck all!!!!

I felt # 2 flutters at 12 weeks... I knew what it was this time so was all excited :)
My doc did the heart beat thing today and it was sooo funny... as soon as we heard it she kicked the stick it was funny! I think she heard her own heart beat out loud and was like WTF!!
and LOL at 2 please... they are addictive arent they!
-
Hi ladies..
I started feeling butterflies around well....16 weeks i think... then off and on until 20 weeks when i got the real deal! kicks, squirms and all! LOL It's normal to feel bubs off and on until it starts to get squished a bit! Now i can tell when bubs changes position etc... it's kinda funny! :) So don't worry if you haven't felt anything yet, everyone is different and it depends on how much room you have inside.. Thinner girls DO feel it a bit earlier than us rounder ones!

how long till you can see bub's feet and hands on the outside of your belly?
The other day I went to see my naturopath, and as I was talking to her, I could feel bub circling around in the middle. So she put her hand on my tummy to feel it. And as soon as she did that, I felt this rapid butterfly movement to my left!! It was so funny, bub ran away from her touch!

I'm allmost 16weeks and still havent felt anything, i now no that it sometimes doesnt happen till later so i feel a bit beter now, thanks everyone. im only just starting to show is that normal?
-
I'm 22 weeks and have only felt my baby in the last week or so. I am a bigger girl so maybe that explains it. I generally can always feel baby first thing in the morning, but generally not at all for the rest of the day...
I agree, it's a nerve-wracking thing!
-
It was like that at the start for me too, but now i can generally feel her when i sit and rest for a little, at any time of day... well unless she's having a nap that is ! :)
-
eeejay, I didn't really show with my first til over 20 weeks! :p People were starting to think I'd been fibbing about being pregnant!
As for flutters, with my first, I felt him about 16ish weeks? This pregnancy (13 weeks now), I reckon I've felt the occasional very faint flutter from about 12 weeks, but I recognise the feeling this time, where with the first pregnancy, I doubt I'd really notice this kind of feeling since it's so faint! I'm on the slim side, so perhaps that makes a difference too.
Something else to keep in mind is the location of your placenta. If your placenta's towards the front of your uterus, that will muffle the sensation of kicks, since it will be the placenta being kicked and not your uterus wall and skin. I know that people with the placenta at the front can often feel kicks a fair while later than others.

eeejay, I will be 17 weeks this week and I have not felt anything, am not yet showing and have not put on any weight so you are not alone. I thought I would start showing pretty early because I would be classified as skinny so I thought I have no layers to hide it but this is not so yet! I have been worrying about it but on the weekend it was my nephews 2nd birthday and my sister had her mothers group at the party so I got a lot of feedback and they made me feel a lot better about it all.
