BFN - But could it be too early?

I did a HPT yesterday and it came up with a BFN - but AF only arrived on the 30th august - no idea when im due cause i have not long had a MC - could by some slight chance be PG and i have just tested to early or is a BFN a BFN??? :pray:

It could be too early. I would give it a a few days and then test again with your FMU.

I agree - too early if your AF only arrived on 30 August - you'd only be CD26. HPTs are not all the accurate until after AF is due - only about 69% accurate 4-5 days before AF -so always best to wait until your are late. How long are your cycles normally?

False BFNs are more common than false BFPs - so there is hope. Good luck :crossfingers:

im starting to feel tired early in the evening which happened last time so my fingers and toes are crossed!!!!

Ticklish - before my MC my cycles were about 30-33days - hadnt really got into a routine from when i came off the pill last october - so do you still think there is a chance?
My DH and i BD CD 3, 7, 10, 12, 17 and i think it was CD20!

If your cycles are about 30 - 33 days, leave it at least until next Monday to test if AF hasn't arrived because then you will be CD33. The luteal phase can be about 11 to 16 days, average is 14 - so going by your dates, yep - there is a chance. Do you have any signs that you O'd?

I did another test this morning and still a BFN - no dont think i had signs of Ovulating - im still trying to work that bit out - however one day i did have egg whitish discharge (sorry yucky i know) cant remember what that day was tho! What is the luteal stage? sorry but im very naive to all this stuff! :)
i guess i will wait until monday to do another test - i dont like my chances tho! however im getting very tired of an afternoon and its early to bed for me of a night time - which that was what i was like in my last pregnancy!

Hi HJ1981,

The luteal phase is the second phase of your cycle, the one after O. The first stage, leading up to O, is called the follicular stage. The follicular phase varies the most in length from woman to woman, whereas the luteal phase is more consistent.

I highly recommend getting acquainted with your cycle. CM is wonderful stuff. EWCM is a good sign but take note of the days next time. After all it is the timing that is all important.

Hi, we are in the same boat. I tested yesterday BFN but it was too early AF is due Thursday. I also mc at the end of July and Had my last AF on Aug 30.

Ticklish - i will def keep track of my cycle - just wish i had of started it this mth so if im not PG this mth than hopefully i can be next mth - i dont feel like AF is going to arrive but i just know my luck - and when it comes to me i can be pretty negative which i know dosent help - and apparently stressing and worrying can prevent AF from arriving - so i guess i better start learning to chill!!!!

Is your AF due this thursday? when are you doing another test? im going to wait until monday! hopefully i will get a BFP - i have one more test left in the pack so maybe 3rd time lucky! hehe - i tested with the HPT called "forelife" its 3 for like $8 pretty cheep so maybe they arent the best to test with - however it said you could test 5-7 days before AF!

The cheapest ones I could find were $16 (can) for two. I wasted one too early but I think I will test tomorrow with FMU so :pray: for me.

My boobs are quite sore and fuller so maybe. My only thought is even if I am the miscarriage risks worries me more so now after hearing that my estrogen levels are high.

I got a BFP. Now the real praying begins!

Jayney - CONGRATS!!!! im sooooo happy for you! (a little bit jelouse to tho) i have had 2xBFN so i dare say im not PG! when i read that your boobs felt sore and fuller i just knew you were! cause that was my very very first sign! and than i read on and you said your were! CONGRATS!!!!
and dont worry about MC again! im sure it wont happen so dont even think about it! Just enjoy being pregnant again! Keep me udated on everything! Once again im sooo happy for you!

CD29 - Still no AF - however have been pretty sooky this morning and have a yucky sick feeling in my stomach - sounds like signs of the impending AF arriving very soon!

:) haha thank you! but i did my 3rd and final test today and once again its still a BFN - im guessing my body is still trying to sort its self out after the MC! One way or another i just wish AF would arrive or a BFP would happen so i can either continue trying again or just celebrate! hehe :)

Well i missed sept with no AF - still have queasy feeling in stomach this morning - i think maybe today AF will arrive - im not going to do any more test - i will just ride it out i think - if nothing has happened by next week i might be tempted to do one! do u think it may be my cycle just trying to get back to normal?

I'm so sorry that the wicked witch arrived. The best days to BD are the ones leading up to 'o' day so that there are lots of spermies to meet your eggy. We BD every second day from the end of AF to 2 days after when I thought 'o' day was with a few extra in the days leading up to o.
So working off a 14 day LP and another 33 day cycle your next AF would be roughy 2nd November so take 14 days off 2nd November and BD for the four days leading up to it 2 days after just to be sure.

I just re-read my post. A bit confusing wasn't it. LOL!! I'll see if I can explain it a little bit better.
A 'normal' luteal phase (LP) is 14 days. This is from the day that your egg is released to AF. Your cycle is 33 days (using your ticker) so the last 14 days of that is your LP or the dreaded TWW. So 33 - 14 is 19 days so you, in theory, should ovulate on day 19 of your cycle. So in a long winded way yes you should be BDing in the days leading up to, on and after the 19th just to sure.
Have you heard of fertility friend? It is a website that you can use to help predict ovulation using your temperature, cervix height and feel and your CM. A heap of us on here use it.
