It is possible that it can happen at 5dpo, but it's just not all that common. The other thing it might be is a fallback rise. This often happens to me at around 4 or 5dpo. Fingers crossed for it being an implantation dip, though!!!

It could happen that early but I don't think that's what it is. Because you've had other temps after O that are the same it doesn't seem likely to me. I had one with my last pregnancy and it happened quite late in the cycle and then my temps shot up higher than they were before the dip and kept climbing for 3 days til I got a BFP.
FF says it better than me......
I'm not sure what causes it, but it's quite common. Most charts I've seen with an implantation dip at 5dpo go on to have anothter dip around 7 or 9dpo, so whether it's really a implantation dip or implantation dip at 5dpo when pregnant is hard to tell. I will keep my fingers crossed for you either way!!!:
Fallback rise: Temperatures may show a "fallback rise" pattern. In a fallback rise pattern the temperature rises significantly and abruptly as you would expect, but then it drops again immediately before it rises again and is sustained throughout the luteal phase.

I'm 5dpo today and my temp dropped a bit too. But this is fairly normal for me. I've had a perfect chart since O, so I'm hoping that it's just a fallback rise before my implantation dip :) Fingers crossed for us all ladies!!!! Hoping to hear of BFPs all round!
Nadine, your chart is showing dips at 6dpo and 10dpo with your temp still rising!! Looking good!! I just got a mega dip again today at 8dpo so I am praying it's an implantation dip!!! Best of luck and lets hope we both get a BFP this cycle!!!!!

Nadine - those dips aren't that low, I'd be testing if I was you!! When are you planning to test, or are you just going to wait AF out? I'll be testing at 12dpo, as AF shows up for me on 13dpo (12 day LP), so Friday. Fingers crossed for you!!!! Hope to hear about your BFP very soon!!!!
Twinkie- It dipped again this morning so I am not too hopeful. I am thinkng that AF will arrive today or tomorrow. I was going to wait till I was late with AF to test (due tomorrow). Good Luck with testing on Friday. Let me know how you go :)
Wow, that's bizarre!! I'm not sure who's chart I've been looking at but it wasn't yours Nadine! Sorry about that. Yes, that dip isn't looking good. I don't think you O'd when FF said, though. You don't have enough temps in there. Possible you are 10dpo today? Your LP would be way too short at 7 days long. Mine is 12 days long and that is still a bit short (average is 14 days long). Do you actually know when you O'd?
I looked dips up on FF as I've just had one and it seems that they are caused by an estrogen surge. You are more likely to see a dip in pregnancy cycles than in non pregnant ones but they do still happen in non pregnant ones. You can have an estrogen surge from a second ovulation or for other unknown reasons.
My did lasted for two days in this cycle so I'm feeling a little nervous. The only other time I've had this happen was during a pregnancy cycle (I had a 3 day dip that time before the rise).
ladies, don't give up hope until af comes, my temp went down for two consecutive days, 13dpo and 14dpo, by a total of .35 to just at my coverline, only for it to go back up again on 15dpo, so i guess i just wanted to say don't give up hope just yet.
Twinkie- No it probably was my chart. i have changed it. Does the chart that u look at start temping at cd17? Then that is mine. I had temps in from cd12-16 but they were fake. i did this early on so i would get a coverline. I got rid of them because I asked somewhere when people think i O'd, so to not confuse them i put it to what it is meant to be. CD22 for O isn't right though i don't think. Had no ewcm and no pains. Whereas cd 16 i did so...........:rolleyes:

Ahh, well that makes sense, LOL. I put your O at CD19 (10dpo) based on those temps that you have in there. The temps are too low to support an earlier O day. Fallback rise at 2dpo and then dips at 7 and 10dpo, which might indicate implantation as the dips are right on track. But like Satya said, the dips are caused by a surge in eostrogen not implantation as commonly believed (is just a coincidence that they happen at the same time.
Although....
this is incorrect as you can't O twice in one cycle (and if you did it would be within 24 hours). The dips in your temp Nadine aren't below the coverline anyway, so I wouldn't be too worried (and I think FF has put your coverline too high either way). As for getting an O line, you can do a manual one of the day you think you O'd. You go into "ovulation dector" tuning/overide. It gives you a blue line and you can put in a manual coverline for temps if you want to (I think you put 1/10 above the highest low temp before your O surge). The coverline that FF gave you based on those fake temps will stuff up your future chart averages. But hopefully it won't matter as you'll be pregnant, LOL.:

me again ladies, sorry to crash your thread, i kept a chart at home as i didn't beleive what ff was telling me, cynical i know but aren't we all in this journey, i also had a further dip at 18dpo, to lower then it was at day 14, to just below my coverline (i created my own coverline lol, based on pre o temps), i don't know what that was from but i am just over 8 weeks now. thats more so the reason i'm saying don't lose hope

Nadine - I'd wait until AF shows (if she does). If she shows within 3-4 days then I'd change the chart to a manual overide. As a general rule, AF shows on the 15th day after ovulation (giving you a 14 day Luteal phase, time between O and AF). If AF shows 14 days after what I predicted as your O day, CD19, then do a manual overide. FF will take away your red lines completely, so if you don't put in a manual coverline (horizonatal line) then FF will just give you a blue O day line. I would put the CL in a 36.45 if it was me, with a manual overide. Your CL is too high. Just saw you put in a manual overide for CD16 while looking at your chart. I think those few temps before CD19 are too low to support a O day of CD16 (unless your pre-O temps were very low, 35.9 or something). I predict AF is due for you on the 21st (Sunday). If you are right then AF is due to show on Thursday. Oooh, exciting, can't wait to see how your chart pans out and if you are pregnant!!!
I tested this morning, 10dpo, and may have either an imagined or very very faint line on a FR test.....please let this be the one!!! This month is 2 years from when we started TTC our second baby and I am desperate to see those two pink lines!!!!! Pathetic, I know, but c'mon BFP!!!!

Oh bummer Nadine!! Your LP is very short,10 days. I am wondering if you did O when you thought (cd16), which would have at least given you a 12 day LP like mine. You should use OPKs this cycle to pinpoint O a bit more accurately (or at least temp all cycle so you can see when you really do O). Best of luck!!
Well, I've been getting BFNs the past few days, but this morning I got a faint line on a First Response test. It was faint, but there (much darker than the very faint one I mentioned the other day). I tested with a Fortel Extra with the same pee, but that one was BFN and they are supposed to be more sensitive than the FR. Hmm, not sure what to think now. AF is due tomorrow, so will see if she shows. I have had faint lines on the FR before and not been pregnant so trying not to get too excited just yet.......
BFN with Confirm this morning. Bummer. Am 13dpo today and AF is due today. Stay away witch!!!

Am a bit of a POAS addict, LOL. Tested again this morning, 14dpo and another BFN. I might have O'd a day or two later than my chart shows or maybe clomid has finally increased my LP. Kind of feel like AF is on her way today, but temp didn't drop so not sure. Getting a bit frustrated by the BFNs and no AF. Would rather get AF than have to keep waiting and guessing and hoping. No more HPTs in the house so am just waiting the witch out now.
